Hi All
I go away for one weekend and all this happens!!! YAY YAY I am so excited for our buddy family!
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Noni - I hope you are enjoying baby William and settling into life as 4. V keen to hear from yuo how you are feeling and how A is coping, how feeding is going, how the labour is etc etc. I am sooooo excited for you!
Clare - YIPPEEE on the house which sounds divine! Well done to you and DH you must be soooo excited! I am so happy for you that this stress is over and you can look forward to a blissful life in gorgeous N Fitzroy. It sounds perfect and so beautiful and it will be even moreso when it is filled with the love of your special family. Big hugs to you for the hard time you are having, i can imagine how hard your week was last week.
You mean about the clothes H? I'm not sure whether it is good coming from those countries or not really - I know a heck of a lot of terry flat nappies come from pakistan so it's probaby quite a big industry over there. I might have to have a google about it and see what I can find out. I hate the idea of buying kids clothes that are made in a sweatshop.
Thanks a lot Cally, now you have given me somewhere else to spend my money ;) LOL. Off to check it out now...
Hey Hot Mumma's,
Claire- Congrat on the house it sounds wonderful. I am really happy for you and your family.
Noni- Woohoo Welcome to the world Billy hope you all are having a wonderful time with your new family member.
macca's Party- Yep I have been to one when the boys were younger... I was sort of
freaked out about the amount of kids and yep randoms that were there and it was a really small playgrounds and kids were crying everywhere. As soon as they cut the cake I grabbed the boys and was off and running.
Well we are all good here apart from the odd cough and runny nose. Livi now rathers sleepin in her cot other than her bed....ok so I dont mind as she doesnt climb out the cot. So long as she sleeps I just go with it...lol 9 more sleeps till our holiday and I am counting..
Well better be off the washing machine is beepin and I have loads of it to do.
Hello to everyone and have a wonderful day
ooops i sent it before i finished again - i got called away by Jacob crying so thought better to send it as it was than not reply LOL!
MD - how are you doing this week? hope the roid rage has died down!
Arte - how is W's sleeping going now - was thinking on the weekend how well you have done. i think i need to avoid all sugary things (or moderate) - i went a little wild with raspberries (the lollys not real ones) yest on our drive home from syd and poor little J was rather uncomfy last night so i put it down to that. or it could be something else i guess... (hope!) - did you find dairy was a prob? i never had to eliminate anything with N so this is new to me...
I havent had probs with Gap clothes - but after the story on the news of the issues in africa with them (yesterday) i think i will prob stop buying them - bit of a bummer as i love their stuff. i am not huge PP fan, i did find the stuff i had from there for N lasted ok but i dont love it and to be honest i think it is one of those brands that isnt as good for boys. speaking of nice brands - had forgotten how amazing purebaby is - am loving it for J! yes he is a clotheshorse like N!!! LOL! god help me if i ever have a girl! LOL!
Ange - hows the boob?
hi to everyone else... will be on a little more this week, DH is back at work now... so J and i will be having some home time.
we went to syd for the weekend and it was awesome... i was so worried how the drive wouldl be but they were both fantastic and both slept ok there and coped well with being schlepped here and there. N was in top form and had a wonderful weekend! i was on sucha high about how well it all went and it was sooo great to spend time with my friends there. i think we will need to plan another one soon...
did i tell yuo all that we hve to get orthotics for N? sorry i am confused about what i wrote and what i havent. milk brain!
ETA - leemar - woooo hooo not long to go now!
Hey PP! Nope, you didn't say you had got them, just that you probably would have to. Do you think it's making a difference yet? Erin has them as her feet roll in something terrible, but with them in her feet are great. How did you go finding some small enough though? Great to hear that the trip went so well too.
Leanne, that's come around so fast!!! I guess you're madly washing just so you can pack it all LOL. It would be confusing though as they are coming out of summer and Vegas is hot most of the year anyway isn't it?
sherie - we dont have them yet, just have to get them. i think we get them froma physio who will create moulds of his feet first... so they are custom made. not looking fwd to trying to keep him still and happy for that experience
gotta go - J crying!
Hi girls!
Leanne: ohhh! you're trip is so close!!!!!!
PP: you mentioned that N might need them...wow! so how do they work? you can put them into shoes right?? (i have a friend with them but have never really asked ).
glad that the trip went well! it is always a nice surprise when the bubbas do well and gives you hope for future trips and good times (at least it does with me lol!)
MM: oh yeah girl, you better start saving LOL!
Sherie: wise words, wise words...we just had a look at all our stuff in the spare room and wow, we need to do some serious culling LOL! luckily we held onto all our removal boxes from the last time so that is one less thing to really think about. but i think a 'sidewalk sale' (we have no garage LOL!) is def in order...
AFM: all good here. back at work (and on BB!). have stalked our new place sufficiently and partaken of some of the local cafes. all good!
went out last night with leila and DH to a 100 publication dinner of arena magazine. it was great fun. at first i was nervous as leila was the only toddler amongst a crowd of adults and everyone was standing around with drinks...always a bit nerve-racking when bed-time has passed us by LOL! but she did really well, sat at the table like a big girl as we pigged out on divine food and clapped at the speeches like a pro. didnt get to bed until 9.30pm!!
LOL Clare, trust you to suss out all the important things ;) I would need at least 6 months to prepare to move now I reckon. The last time we did it we had hardly anything and no children! Well DS came a few days later, but we hadn't accumulated all the crap we have now ROFL.
Ahhh I see PP. Lollies might do the trick.
Clare You are on such a roll, gala magazine dinners and late bedtimes and I can't tell you how much I'm loving your cool-as-a-cucumber story of how you made your offer and oh so subtley put the pressure on. The house sounds totally amazing - well done! I happen to think an Oct settlement is great - you'll be better prepared for the move by then (remembering the liquid nature of time, pre-move weeks are always shorter than regular weeks LOL).
PP - delighted to hear your weekend in Syd was such a raging success. Must admit we've indulged in more than one packet of 'glove-box lollies' in our car-trip times LOL.
Leanne - I bet you're starting to get pretty excited about your holiday!! :D
Re Maccas - never have done a party there - tho DD1 has been to a couple which left me unimpressed. I think the kids get quite saturated by the monotony of the McD experience, there's nothing to distinguish one McD party from another, kwim? Rainy that's funny about L chaining down 8 nuggets - MIssy E won't touch them. As far as she's concerned those places only sell one foodstuff, C-H-I-P-P-I-E-S (as she shouts in delight every time we drive past a fast food outlet of any brand).
Ange ya poor thing - hope you're feeling better - boob and lungs both.
MM -so pleased to hear AF has made a return! Your DH is so sweet. :)
AFM - am dragging myself around today, not a good day to have to forage out all the paperwork to take to the accountants. At least it will be done, I guess. Just waiting for the violet crumble energy to kick in...:p
Hey everyone a quick update.. We are home.. All is pretty good.. He's a bit fussy but its just getting used to the feeding.. He pretty much wants to feed all the time which im not used to but he seems to be attatching well coz my nipples are still in tact lol.. Asha loves her little brother gave him a big cuddle but she hasn't come home yet we are picking her up from pre school in a few hrs (she's been staying with mum)..
My labour was 4hrs 20mins from waters breaking to birth. Bit different then the 11 with asha!! It was very intense and this time I had the gas because I was getting very worked up and it was just so full on!! Anyway im in the car atm on the way to the shops so I best be off hope to bring another update very soon and post some pics on fb as soon as I get a chance!! Thanks for all the well wishes :)
YAY NONI!!! what a quick birth! i'd be attached to the gas too like no mans business LOL! congratulations again and will be looking forward to seeing the pics!
yay noni - good to see you and sounds like all is going well especially the feeding which is so fab! i hope things go well when you get A as well, i found N was good at the start, had a rough few days and now seems to be ok. he even said 'i love you jacob' out of the blue yesterday which has to be a good sign! i have found i have a lot more ups and downs emotionally this time, i think bc there is guilt factor and a general bedlam that i didnt have before.
Ange - i meant to say i would go to png angle if you get it. i wouldt say that if it was port moresby, but the place you describe sounds great and i agree it woujldbe a great adventure and life experience for you all. you seem to have the guts to do it! and as you say if it doesnt work at the time, you can come home! that said we are looking into oseas opps too and as you say things that would have been fab 5 yrs ago are not as attractive now you have a couple of littlies to think about... when will you find out?
md - hope the vc energy boost is in full force!
Preg- Not sure when job closes. Hopefully we'll hear something by early next week. The recruitment agent has phoned hubby a couple of times saying they were pretty keen to get him up to brissy for an interview and would that suit etc. But no official word about that yet. i have a real desire to go overseas again for a while. Going to Fiji got the travel bug crawling again i think! Pretty sure a podiatrist will make some custom orthotics for you. They are not cheap things though. Not sure about kids but hubby's are a good $600.
Welcome home Noni. :D
Clare - house sounds v.cool! Nth Fitzroy is pretty inner city. :D I'm a bit of a mushroom sometimes....what is arena?
MD- Has the violet crumble energy been and gone???
Leanne- i smiled being referred to as a hot mumma! ;) Not many sleeps now! Are you packed???
MM- i think men generally find it difficult to express themselves, unlike us women! So your hubby is not alone there. Trying to get my husband to talk about how he is feeling is like pulling teeth sometimes. i'm jealous of your Bali trip!
As per my other thread, i now have mastitis. Geez i'm hainvg a winner this week! Ah well at least i know why this 'cold' is so bad and the AB's should have me feeling a1 in no time.
Baking some lactation cookies, bbl. xx
what are lactation cookies?
ikwym ange re wanting to go oseas again - we are keen to do another stint too - esp before n starts school... but time is ticking on that. basically we will go next yr or go back to melb next yr... and then maybe go in a few yrs..
bummer on the mastitis... but good you have the abs now, i hope they kick in quickly (i think they usually do?). you and rainy really are bosom buddies LOL!

i took out 1 C of sugar, just used brown. Added 1 C of flaxseed meal which i ground myself in a coffee grinder, plus sultanas and coconut. Oh, and no chocolate! Lu loves them too. lol
Congrats Noni on the amazing birth of William. Can't wait to hear more and see some muchly anticipated pics.
Congrats on getting that house Clare...it was meant to be.
Hi to everyone else...not much going on here. We're all still sick but getting better slowly. I still sound like I should be working for the phone s*x industry but the pain has reduced.
I am concerned about Sarahs eating though. Dinner time is a really painful time as she just won't eat dinner. She will happily eat cheese and then yoghurt and fruit afterwards. But is really turning her nose up at anything we serve her. Tonight we tried pasta in a tomato based sauce with roasted chook torn up and stirred through. But nope, refused to even try it. She'll do this with anything I offer. We sit down as a family and she gets to choose between highchair and big chair. She even gets to use a grown up fork if she wants but I can't think of what else to try. Oh, and I have really been watching her afternoon snacks to make sure that shes not filling up early. Do any of you wise ladies have any advice? TIA ;)
Kate, we were having exactly the same issues. I couldn't even get her to try food. So i said to her, you can have yoghurt/cheese/pasta (her faves) if you try it. If you don't try it you can't have any. We had a few crocodile tears the first night, but when she realised i was serious (about an hour later!), she had a mouthful and decided it was actually nice and had the whole lot. Then she had yoghurt. The next night i said the same thing, and she was much happier to try it. Since then (about 2 weeks ago) She is a new girl, she eats everything i serve up to her. It might not work for you but worth a shot. If she tries it and doesn't like it, i don't make her have anymore, but she has to try it.
I was trying not to make food an issue, as advised in Pinky McKays book, but i kind of misinterpreted that and was just giving her food she wanted i guess. Now it's no issue, she just has to try the food i make her! Mantaray replied to someone elses fussy eater thread suggesting that method. Worth a shot!
