Hi all, just popping in to let you know I'm still alive. And kicking. LOL Still haven't kicked this lurg and looking like I might have to postpone Missy E's party this weekend (*LOUD SIGH*) cos there will be babies and very preggers ladies and I trooly don't wanna share. Will wait until Sat and ring around if necc.
Clare, living vicariously thru you, keep posting please!!!
Oz, mucho excitingness re the contractions .
Noni, I hope W's bronchiolitis gets better quickly & he's not too bothered by the dust (saw it on the telly). BTW I thought the same thing about cotton on until I stumbled on a tshirt sales table - but it seems exxy to me when it's not on sale. I had a big shop up at Best n Less - but like every where, you have to watch the quality, some is good, some is overpriced for what it is. I hate tshirts with those rubbery pictures stuck on that crack after you've washed them half a dozen times and stick to the iron if you accidentally iron over them LOL.
ETA - also wanted to add, Cally I don't think 13 is excessive at all - water play, messy outdoor play, suncream accidents, summer iceblocks, TOILET TRAINING, all being reasons why we need extra sets...bottoms especially if you're planning to TT during the warm weather.
-
Oh no MD!! I hope you are well enough by then to have the party still. Can you just put the IL's to work so you can get some rest? And does your fave shop start with an A by any chance? If it is they have some nice stuff this summer - I got a pair of navy 3/4 pants and a teal shirt when I was in canb.
Oz, I hope the 'hot date' does the trick for you ;)
G, I was wondering what you would have brought at the sale. I hate it when they do that with sales and just have a huge sale to get rid of the stuff that isn't moving the rest of the time.
PP bugger about the extra OS trip for him!!! But I hope he doesn't get you any more shoes LOL. I couldn't be so brave as to get a red handbag - I've had mine since before I had the kids and I just couldn't take the leap to something so bright and daring.
Noni, I hope the wee boy is better soon for you  If I were doing that cake I would still get some fondant/royal icing and just do the arms and legs and the red spots and green belt/tie and just do regular frosting for everything else and some liquorice for the hair etc. It is expensive to do a cake if you go all out but I reckon it's worth it.
H, definitely check out gymboree - they have gorgeous girls clothes.
Clare, she's a real little Italian babe isn't she? I can just imagine her with her Aunt - there is a similar gap between L and my brother too and he just adored him when he was a toddler and would follow him around everywhere. And how could you be in Italy and NOT go shopping? LOL
It's supposed to be really cold here over the weekend too and I hope it's not because we have a 40th birthday party for one of DH's workmates on Sunday and we were thinking about camping out as they are having it on the river banks at the back of their house but if the weather is dodgy we will just come home I think.
-
oh no md.....i hope you start to feel a bit better. big hugs honey...
it is raining bucketloads here. more rain than i've seen here all year.
-
Trill, yep that's the one, it's a bit embarrassing tho cos I go shopping there all the time and realise I'm wearing their clothes LOL. I like the sound of the camping, hope the weather turns right tho it's looking like it will be cold and yuck here too.
Ginger, we've had heaps of rain, the shed flooded a bit. :( I was too sick to care at the time so no doubt I'll be cranky when I investigate the damage.
-
I thought it would be the same one. I love going in there and being able to buy the smallest size in the shop  makes me feel so much better about myself. I'm in two minds about the camping mainly because of all the extra crap we'll have to take LOL.
G, you can send some rain my way.
-
trill- wish i could send you bucketloads of rain
everyone send me your non-rain-vibes for next sunday please
does anyone know where i can get a shaun the sheep figurine for lewis' cake?
-
G - I don't know about Shaun the Sheep, but you could use a Little People sheep.
md - that sux that you're not feeling great. I hope your feeling much better by the weekend.
Trill - will the whole family go to the party with you?
Clare - Leila is so clever being able to speak 2 languages. Glad you're having fun :)
oz - how very exciting!!! I can't wait to find out who tiniest Oz will be!
noni - I love Best & Less clothes for the kids. They seem to last the distance as well.
-
Ginger have you tried the ABC shop? Otherwise you could try the trick of sticking a picture on some cardboard, backing it with alfoil and slapping it on the cake (ice around the edge so you can't tell). I'm full of cheaty-birthday-cake tricks aren't I PMSL!
-
MamaPan is in da house!!!! thanks for naming me MD.
Ginger - no idea where you can get one (or who he is LOL!) But MDs ideas sound good to me...
btw have you been into MIMCO lately - they have a nappy bag there that i am coveting...
i thought you may like it too - though is exxy...
MD - nooo on the lurgy, i hope you dont have to postpone, though miss e wont mind i am sure..its been a year of postponed bday parties in your house this year.
Sherie - did you get any of the storms we had here the past few days? the party sounds like fun.
Katie - waaaaaaa hooooooooo on contractions... hope to not see you here early next week iykwim. what do tyou have planned for your romantic night? i wouldnt normally ask LOL bu since you shared info yest.... ha ha
Noni - i agree cotton on can be exxy for what it is sometimes too... but some of their stuff when on sale is bargain - like i got tshirts for N for $5 and $7.50.
we have a working bee this sat at the kindy so i am off to buy some plants for it... i am looking fwd to it, love how thekindy is such a 'community'.
saw fame at mums and bubs movie this mroning - was a bit disappointing.
i have made a standing arrangement now with my friend from school (who i bumped into at paed) to walk around the lake each monday morning. hope i will lose some weight from it and gainmotivation. though we made the plan while wolfing down muffins and lattes after the movies!
-
MamPan (love the new name btw) nothing special planned for my hot date, just dinner and then ice cream on the beach. Been so long since we a child free dinner. I tend to make all my exercise plans while stuffing my face lol.
Jaz loving your FB pics of H the cheeky monkey.
MD I hope you feel better real soon, what a shame if you have to cancel the party.
G send some rain our way, our grass is so nice and crunchy lol. I would try the ABC shop for Shaun the sheep.
Trill hopefully the weather is ok and you can camp. Would you have to take loads of stuff though?
No contractions or anything today but managed to get loads of housework done and watch Packed to the rafters. L should be awake soon so we might go play outside int he sunshine I think .
-
Mamapan - I think the name change is beautiful :) That's great that you have a walking buddy. I'm missing my daily walks with some of the mums from school.
Oz - I love Packed to the Rafters. Such a well written and acted Aussie drama.
-
We are all going and we are taking the kids bikes too - plus the big esky  chairs and if we do camp out the tent, plus sleeping gear for us all and clothes etc. I think it will just be too cold though.
G, I saw in the ABC shop ages ago that they had little Shaun the Sheep figurines.
PP, you can always have a skinny coffee and share your muffin with N ;)
-
i went to 2 different abc shops and couldn't find one..ggrrr
i like your idea md, but we're making a paddock cake so we were kinda hoping to stick a shaun in it iykwim? hhhmmm what to do????
mamapan- haven't been into mimco for ages. is it on the website? i'm wanting a storksak emily bag. a certain hot mumma by the name of angelina has one LOL
oz- date sounds lovely. i think it might be just the thing to get things moving LOL
i went to the playcentre today and ran into janie (sez). kinda cool seeing bb people out and about randomly.
dh is dying my hair tonight, wish me luck LOL
-
MamaPan - I love it!!! :D
Rainy is the party this Sunday or next Sunday? If it's next Sunday we can all keep an eye out and first person who spots a Shaun can post it to you!!! Otherwise you could get creative with some fondant???
-
have a ring around some bakeries that do cake orders as they may have a figurine
-
G - you could print out an image and laminate it (not sure if you have a laminator though - i got one for $30 from Woollies) put a toothpick on the back and stick it in the cake. If you don't have a laminator - i'm happy to do it for you and post it down.
-
I am the fondant queen at the moment, been working on flippin 'jup jup' for the past few days now lol. Ah well it will all be worth it. Must say MD that is an absolutely awesome idea WHY did I not think of that to begin with!? Ahhh! I guess you have more years of children's bday cake making experience than me hehe
MD - I hope you get better & you dont need to post pone the party :(
Just wanted to pop on for a quick 'hi', off to get ready for BEYONCE wooooo!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK hope your day was wonderful
