afternoon everyone :)
thanks for all your concern for Asha.. shes doing much better.. back to her usual "im hungry" every 10 seconds and driving me insane doing things she knows shes not allowed to!! William is not well at all, he kept me up all night coughing and vomiting.. he just cant keep it down when he coughs coz its a really bad cough.. hes drinking much less and is pretty wingy, hes been sleeping all day apart from feed times so i assume hes gonna be up all night again :( hopefully not!
the house is disgusting, stuff everywhere, dishes piled up, im just sooo tired i sit here thinking, any minute now ill get up and do something.. plus i got all pre occupied because dh got this email at work saying a client of another case manager just had a baby boy 1mth ago, not only is she on the disability pension but her husband has been sent to jail and her family live in bangladesh.. it was asking for anyone who has nappies blankets and clothes and even toys.. so i spent most of my day digging through our baby stuff for things we didnt need and asking all my friends if they have anything, looks like were gonna have a fair bit of stuff too!! wish i got more notice, dh has to take the stuff in on thursday, spose it was a spur of the moment idea.. think thats more important than housework anyway!!
ohhh id love an apple computer, no way its gonna happen tho :(

it's hard work pushing it up hills! but you should be right cos i think the red ones go faster ;)

mm- i would like to go to the gym, but i'm just not willing to leave j in a creche yet. i just feel like he is a bit too young atm, prob just my stupid mindset i know, but i would feel too guilty and not enjoy it.
ikwym with the toddler attitude atm. lewis is being particularly bossy and defiant and sometimes i feel like i am his slave. he thinks he is the king of the remote control for the foxtel and continually shoves it into my hand if i dare to try to watch a show i like. he forces me to give him foot massages while he sits on the couch watching 'his' foxtel.

md-i didn't realise online shopping decreased my ludite status- in that case,i am an IT expert :lol:
reminds me, did anyone buy anything from the new season oobi range? i bought j a party outfit :)
we are just in the process of re-arranging our house and working out who sleeps where iykwim? we're thinking an extention might be in order......
i'm thinking i might like the boys to share the4ir bedroom though, idk. is sharing rooms good or a pita, what do other people do?

hi girls - sorry selfish post here...
J just threw up a couple of times... i think it is bc he has a cold and has swallowed all the snot (nice) but i dont know what to do bc he is so tiny still. if it was earlier in the day i would take him to the dr (he is unsettled all day, had bad night etc etc) but now i have to get N from creche and i dont have anyone to watch him while i go. thought i would see how he is overnight and then go tomorrow - but i am worried i should be doing something pronto bc of his age. i dont think he has a temp (but i am notoriously bad at taking them). think i will feed him again and see if he keeps that down. oh i am in for a rough one i know it... any advice welcome (sorry for selfish post, feeling a little worried and alone) - i called DH and he agrees wuth this plan but i am worried i will freak out in the night if it keeps happening...

PP - I definitely think having an older sibling to teach them "tricks" adds to the daredevil factor, but it's also partly the nature of the beastie. Missy E has been very physical and grounded, since forever (remember me calling her Donkeychild in the womb?) with those strong little kicking legs. Totally different to H.

MM I love your gym/pilates idea, I think I could really benefit from pilates (now that it's not trendy any more LOL). BTW I'm sorry to say that sounds just like normal toddler behaviour to me. A certain amount can be ignored/accommodated/let to slide/distracted but sometimes you have to assert your way too. The good news is, it does pass.

Noni, you're right, that's way more important than housework, and I'm sure it will be very appreciated. The housework will still be there tomorrow LOL. Mine's a pigsty, there's a standoff to see who folds first and cleans the toilet. I think it's going to be me...

I'd like to paint Missy E's bedroom and do some artwork on her (old and uninspiring white laminated) wardrobe & cupboard. Might see if I can rope in FIL for some manual labour while he's here...I want a different colour on each wall - a really soft pink, old fashioned soft light blue, a soft green and then accessorise with cherry red and dark pink. Sounds disgusting but it's that red combined with the soft pastel that looks really nice. We need to clear her room out a bit first, tho not sure if I can let the change mat go before my surg or not.

ETA - PP I would take him to the Dr and just bring N along with you, with some snacks, drinks etc to keep him amused. I'm sure they will get J in when you tell them how old he is.

PP, when they cough they can't spit out the mucous/phlegm like we can so they swallow it and it's gotta come out somewhere - either that end or the other ;) I think he would probably feel a bit better afterwards actually because he's probably had it sitting in his belly making him feel yuck. I've never been one to rush off to the Dr's simply because we're out of town and trying to see a Dr at short notice just doesn't happen out here. If he does keep doing it, or you feel that something's not right, then take him to A&E then, but I reckon he will be fine :hug:

G, when I worked I had a oh so nice Mac and I loved it dearly and always thought I would get a mac one day but you can add at least $1000 to the price tag of a laptop just because it has an apple on the front :rolleyes: When we were looking for one the main thing for me was keyboard flex - some are just shocking for it so that's one thing to check out when shopping for one. We were tossing up between a Toshiba and a Dell but Dell couldn't guarantee me the service if I needed it and then harvey norman gave me the runaround with the toshiba so we went with the Lenovo and it's brilliant.

Oh Arte :hug: I've had that happen too. Don't forget that everyone is still adjusting to everyone else and the entire family dynamic changes with each child that comes along. Even though W is a pretty precocious child, he will still have his moments - usually in public for good measure LOL.

Noni, good to hear that A is on the mend and nearly back to her old self.

Clare, that's so great about your Oma :hug: I'm really glad that they have managed to sort out her going to a home as your Opa should be spending his time just loving her for the time she has left and not having to worry about caring for her too. LOL at what she said though.

We're not doing much at all in the way of rooms. we desperately need to paint the entire house again as it is getting tired looking but funds are a bit tight ATM.

This morning I started getting hayfever (that time of year again :rolleyes: ) and all I had was 25mg phenergan so I thought I'd take one as I was so desperate and OMG I felt like I'd been king hit by the sleep fairys! I had to take Paige to her speechie today so I went and stayed awake OK but we got home at 1pm - alister had fallen asleep in the car and luckily he stayed asleep when I put him on his lounge and Paige was tired so she went to bed and I hopped on the couch and woke up 3hrs later when Alister did! Man it was a deep sleep too LOL. And I had to get the kids at 4.35 too so I had a quick cuppa tea to wake me up. On the bright side though it worked - got rid of the hayfever LOL I'm hoping that the sleep will me awake tonight so I can try to get SIL's wedding sampler finished by the weekend.

pap - W is doing the same thing, try not to worry too much.. W has had a temp but i gave him some panadol n it did the trick.. been to the drs much earlier on, not much they can do, just keep an eye on the temp n u can try some cooled boiled water too that can help..

have a girlfriend on standby in case i freak out and want to go to locums or A&E... she can come watch N inthe night if needs be. geez it aint easy being a mummy.

It's not is it, especially when you are tossing up the 'should I or shouldn't I go'. And Noni's right, there really isn't anything they can do for them when it's just a cold and they are better off not being in a Dr's waiting room I reckon. Good that you have someone who can come over if you do need to go though.

PP, now that you have a plan in place I'm sure it will be a noneventful night. It's when you don't have the plan that everything happens! :hug: Like Trill said, sometimes the yuck just has to come out, sounds like Noni's W is doing the same thing too.

And its especially hard when you are on your own and dont have your hubby around to discuss with him what to do. I think you have a good plan there PAP, see how he goes for now.

dont freak out too much pap :) W vomited and coughed for alot of the night.. im trying to use the saline and aspirator as much as i can to limit how much gunk hes swallowing but its not easy when he hates it and moves his head around when im trying to do it!! hes slept most the day too but im not worrying because i know we had a big night and the times he is awake he is reasonably alert and still atleast drinking a little and having lots of wet nappies..
always good to have a plan tho!! not only incase something goes wrong but to make you feel more secure and help you relax a bit :)

Pap - i hope little J improves and you have a good night. Have you raised one end of the bassinette slightly? Might help with the mucous running down the back his throat. Poor little thing.

trill - whoa, it really hit you didn't it!!! 3 hours sleep - you obviously needed it. What do you mean by a wedding sampler? (sorry if i should know this :redface:)

ginger - Jess and Zoe share a room, but that only happened 2 years ago. They seem to like it at the moment, but i guess in a couple of years they're going to be sick of one another!!lol.

md - have fun redecorating - maybe you should film it all and start your own lifestyle program. I love a good make over show!!

noni - A and W sure have had their share of illness over the past week haven't they - I hope they're all on the mend now :)

Took Jess to the Dr, and all is good. She just wanted to look at the ultrasound, as she only the report to go off. Looks like she has a splinter or something in her leg. She's happy for us just to leave it there until it absolutely has to come out. Her urine test showed some white blood cells, and said she may have had a low grade infection ,although not sure what. Her iron level is a bit low as well, so going to try and increase it through diet rather than tablets at this stage.
So anyway, all good. Thankyou all for your thoughts. You're all so wonderful!!!!

I want to send hugs to you all, send birthday messages to any I've missed as well as general support and best wishes to everyone! We're not too crash hot around here, nothing to really pinpoint health wise. Just a general 'off' feeling. My IRL friends have noticed that I have not been right and have pulled me up a few times after I've made comments etc that aren't like me. They are worried and have made me book an appt at the dr. I'm thinking virus but don't know which, what, where, how, when or why. well I can guess as to how (damn sharing kids lol). But its really knocking me around and I think Sarah is really picking up on it all. Rory is also away working at the moment and has been gone for nearly 3 weeks so far and isn't due back until next week. So I think Sarah is missing him which just adds to her fantastic (note the sarcasm pls) mood.
Rory and I are surviving our problems but it is so damn awkward when talking to him on the phone.
So I'm just in a general slump. But anyway I didn't come on here to sook just to say that I do still think about you all but am just too lazy to actually 'think'. Hence facebook and other mindless things

Jazah, so relieved to hear it's a splinter! Glad your dr has decided to leave it, sometimes they like to gouge around and get them out which aint pretty. Bathing the spot with warm salty water could help draw it out??? Weetbix (must be sanitarium) and iron-fortified OJ for breakky is our standard iron-increasing menu.

Just have some toddler questions as well, it seems to me that over the past 2-3 wks M is becoming so difficult & negative at times. Her response to questions is always a 'noooo' while vigorously shaking her head. & a good example, she pesters and persters for food, so I get together a bowl of snacks and she then refuses to eat & very cheekily swipes it off the table. She is just generally being difficult & last night I seriously had a thought of 'my gosh you are so hard to love sometimes' :( What is going on!?

these guys must have shared the same womb LOL! leila has been doing this for about a month now. so so aggravating and not to mention plain rude. i guess it is a further display of their 'id' (spelling?) LOL!
we are just trudging along with it showing our 'unhappy' face when she does it and hoping like mad that the 'this too shall pass' mantra works past the newborn phase LOL.

rainy: we have just purchased a gorgeous macbook pro 15 inch. it is my baby. it has a built in webcam and we now skype with my mum so that her and leila can talk and see eachother. of course it also means that leila kisses the screen waaay too much.

PP: oh deary me! i only just realised that it was NOAH's birthday yesterday! i remembered today as it was Leila's EDD today and i remembered when we met up in 2008 that i marvelled at the closeness of the age ITMS.

PP: can you call some mach line? otherwise bundle them up in a car, grit the teeth and drive to the A&E. the CH is only a short drive and if you present with a young bub vomiting you may get in quickly. and if not, then you can prolly sigh a breath of relief that it may not be urgent....what does robin barker say lol? ahhh my book of knowlege...give it a peruse and go from there i reckon.

MD: oohh all these redecorating ideas sound gooood! cant wait to get my hands dirty with Leila's room. not sure what to do yet. so hard to decide. i want something that can kinda last a bit of distance for age so want it to be fun and cute, but not too cute IYKWIM.

Clare - Thanks, glad to know M isnt the only difficult grumpy bum these days. Sometimes the moody face she mopes about with is incredible iykwim! Oh hope it isnt ears, they always seem to play up when a flight is coming up dont they? Always the way

Kate - Glad to hear you are still with DH hopefully things keep getting better. I hope the doc can help you pin point whats going on. I was feeling a bit down & not 100% a month or so ago and started myself on multivitamins and it has made me feel so much better. Maybe its something as simple as that?

Jaz - Hopefully that splinter makes its own way out with time. ;)

M has been sick & grumpy all day, I dont know why it didnt click earlier but I gave her some panadol at 4pm and her mood had changed back to normal within half an hr. Feel guilty for letting her go all day with no medication, it just slipped my mind, probably because I was focusing on getting her 3X antibiotics into her!

H, don't worry about not giving her panadol earlier, the longer they can get by OK without it the better as you don't want to have to rely on it kwim? Her behaviour is completely normal for this age range too - they are asserting their independence and working out boundaries and they will just keep pushing them LOL. I have found just walking away and ignoring it seems to work best as there is no fun for them in pressing the buttons of someone who just walk away and doesn't bite back.

Jaz, that's a relief that it's just a splinter. You could try getting it out quicker yourself if you wanted to by buying some magnoplasm (at the chemist or supermarket) or using honey even and putting a bandaid over it to draw it out. usually it will just fester and pop out with loads of pus but it can get really sore waiting for it to do it on it's own. The wedding sampler is just a cross stitch with their names and wedding date and hearts and stuff on it - I'll post a pic of it on FB when it's done.

Clare that's awesome news that they loved the review!!!! I hope it isn't L's ears playing up, not just before a plane trip!

Kate, so great to see you and get an update. Ummm you don't think you could be pg do you? would explain the vagueness of how you're feeling kwim? Either way I hope you can work out what it is and get back to your old self again :hug: you've had such a hard time of it lately. I'm happy that you and Rory are working things out too don't worry about the phone calls - DH and I don't really talk well on the phone to each other when he or I is away either.

AFM, only full day at home this week LOL so I need to get stuck into some serious housework - our bedroom is an absolute hovel from everything just being put in there because it can't go anywhere else and I need to get it sorted out because it's really bugging me.
