Happy Birthday Lewis :birthday2: Hope you have a wonderful day, gorgeous boy!!! :D
Oz, it must be the day for cranky pantses! LOL If I hear Nooooo mummy, no mummy, no mummy one more time in that special whiney voice she saves for me I swear my head will explode! Luckily the little treasure has just gone down for a sleep...
MP - let us know how the WW goes. I seriously need to do something too over the next few months, if they start me on Tamoxifen the weight loss door will slam shut. :( Now that chemo is over I don't have a good excuse for eating cake anymore LOL.
Ginger are you doing anything for L's birthday today or was it all done and dusted on Sunday?
Clare I bet that fringe is cute as cute! Missy E needs another haircut, trying to teach her to stand still to brush her hair but I've nearly given up as her brush keeps mysteriously disappearing LOL. DD1 needs major hair work but I'm in for a fight because she insists she is 'growing it' but looks horribly scruffy.
Leanne, it sounds like you had a lovely day! So pleased for you, that perfume sounds lovely. I'm completely out of touch with perfume these days, need to spend some quality time at the perfume counter I think.
DH went back to work today after a week at home, I'm missing him already. The poor exhausted man only really caught up on sleep the last day or two and now he's back at work and it all starts again. Am trying to be much more productive on the home front but am still so tired it's a bit pathetic really. FIL has been helping DH with a heap of little repairs etc around the place so after 10 mths in the house I finally have child-locks on my kitchen drawers and a shed that doesn't leak LOL.
ETA - Arte, after DD1 stopped having day naps, she would have 'quiet time' in her room - basically a 45 min rest where she could look at books, listen to a story cd or play quietly on her bed with her toys. Saved my sanity some days and because it was a part of the routine we never had any fuss over it.
-
Happy Birthday Lewis!!!
Clare - PMSL at you marching down the street!!
MP - weekends could be best, however I can finish off early at work and pick K up after her nap too. TTC again??? How many are you aiming for?
MD and Ginger - glad the parties went well, apart from the weather G.
We are having lots of rain - unfortunately not the really heavy dumpy rain, just the light showers which mean you can't wash, the grass is always wet etc.... Glad it is DH home with K this week and I still get to go to work!
Oz - still no sign of things happening there?
-
Hi everyone
Happy Birthday Lewis - hope your day is fantabulous!!!
Md - bummer about dh going back to work. I had mine home for 2 weeks, and I really enjoyed having him home. He got lots of odd jobs done too. The party sounded wonderful. You're incredibly creative! You'll have to post some pics in our Sept Bubbies group. Hope you're feeling better real soon.
Clare - you poor thing. Lovely to be in Italy on holidays, but not nice to have to defend your mothering skills with the in-laws.
MamaP - good on you for heading down to WW's. I'm finding i'm incredibly motivated at the moment. Possibly because i'm not finding the diet difficult. I'm still allowing myself to have my sugar fix - which I really need. So far I've lost about 3.6kilos in 3 weeks, and about 5 cm off my waist!
Arte - that's great that W is sleeping through the night, but bummer on the day naps.
I have a feeling that Hannah is starting that trick today. Yesterday I was at a cousins place for a play date, and her 2 1/2 year old twins don't have a day nap anymore. I was thinking at the time, thank God Hannah still has hers because I soooo need it. Well I've jinxed myself. She climbed out of her cot today, and is in her bed now - but still chatting away to herself. I'm sure she's going to open her door and come out any minute.
Kate - i hope everything goes well for you while R's home .
Leanne - glad you had a lovely birthday. I think your dh spoils you a bit you lucky girl :D
Cally - Hi!!
-
Hey Girls,
Oz- I am so excited for you and can not wait to hear the news.
Clare-Haircut is so what livi needs now too.
Just got the kids into daycare 3 days a week now as mum needs the extra day at work OMG its going to cost $543 a week :wall:looks like I will be cutting back a bit on spending now..... Cannot wait till they go to school as it will be cheaper at private school than daycare...... I am ****ed.... Sorry for the rant
-
Happy Birthday Lewis hope you have a awesome day
-
funny some of you should mention refusing daysleeps...guess who's just ran out of bed wide awake without a sleep? ggrrrrrr
we're just having a home day for his birthday today, it's been a busy few weeks so it's nice to just be at home. my dad came up and visited and had a jump on the trampoline with the birthday boy.
jaz- that's great weightloss, i might have to dig out that magazine and check out the diet. are you sticking to it strictly?
arte-lewis sleeps through most nights, but some nights he'll still wake a couple of times. sometimes he wants a bottle of milk in the middle of the night. that's great about W. how does A sleep?
mp- i spoke to my friend who is a nutritionalist and she recommended the csiro diet as the most effective long-term weight loss diet around. have you heard anything about that one? i'm thinking of looking into it.

Hi girls sorry I have been so slack lately. I've just been working on an essay that I want to finish before going away, so I dont have to think about it on my holiday, so unfortunately most of my computer time has been directed at this darn essay!
I am hanging for Oz to pop, every time my phone beeps I jump. I dont leave the house without the thing strapped to me lol.
Happy birthday to Lewis!!!!
Hope you are all well xox

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GORGEOUS LEWIS!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like a very fun home day, especially jumping on the tramp with grandpa!
Just dropped DH off at the airport- he is off to Bangkok this time. sob sob. i am so sad. at least mum is coming to stay this time - she is working here for the rest of the week so she can help me at night. i havea bpard meeting tonight - i will take J but i am sure N will give her a hard time as he is v sad DH is going.
Ginger - day 1 of WW and so far it is ok. i am surprised some of the things that are low/high on 'points'. my motivation is high atm. that said i didnt get to go for my walk this morning as it was pouring rain.. i should prob jump on the treadmill but... BB calls! (and a cuppa)
I think I will stay away from diet books etc atm and just eat what i want and track pts.. then when i get close to my target weight (and this will be a long way off) i might look into some of them or go see a nutritionist to make sure i dont put the weight back on. i love my food! i like about ww that i can have what i want - just have to compensate for it later if i am 'bad'. and lots of foods i like are low or no points like veg etc, so i just need to have more of them. and be more organised with meal planning etc.
J has been having a bad day... and last night was awful. of course i worried it was his head but think maybe he had an upset tummy. if he yells all night again we will be at the dr tomorrow. i hope he isnt just chging sleep patterns as i am so pleased with how he is now! i am off to the osteo with him tomorrow for the flat spot - looking fwd to that! i finally got in and then was at my couins and mentioned it and found out that the osteo is very close friends with my cousin - so i prob could have pulled some strings and seen him weeks ago. oh well i am in now!
Have any of you moved away from full fat milk and daory products now they are over 2 years old?
MM - mustnt be long til you are off? YAY! i am super jealous! btw we decided against the perth trip and are actually heading Cally's way (again) that weekend...
Cally - i am at lilli pilli 22-27th - so can meet up whenever suits you. i am booking a place down there for the melb cup weekend too (the following weekend) and i had tentatively booked one in broulee (i love it as we had a holhouse at mossy pt when i was a kid) but i lost the booking so now looking for another in broulee, mossy, malua bay or rosedale... and i also booked to go down at xmas but we will be in mollymook then! yes i am one of those annying canberrans that hijacks your lovely home all through the summer!
Leanne - i hear you on the cc costs. i am looking at what to do when i go back to work next yr and FREAKED OUT!
-
I'm still alive but OMG I'm so busy!!!! I haven't had a chance to even unwind from the wedding yet and no hope of a break till Saturday - I have my bestie coming over with her two kids for a visit tomorrow and then Friday is family day at DH"s work and I was out most of today at the chiro (a 300km round trip) and not long gotten home. Hopefully I will have a bit of time for a proper catch up with you all tomorrow morning before my friend comes.
 to you all and I hope your wee babe makes an appearance soon Oz
-
G - It's a diet that i dont' really have to be strict with. All I need to do is keep my kj intake to 1600 and include either nuts/seeds, dark choc, olives, oils, and avocado at each of the meal times. I think that's why i'm sticking to it.
bbl
-
Jaz - what diet is it that you are on?
MamaP - Probably the Saturday afternoon will be really good for me as DH will be at cricket, so either the 24th or the 31st (I'll look super spunky then as getting my hair done that morning). Our secretary just started WW and lost 1kg her first week!
Getting our carpets steamcleaned this morning which will be good.
K spent the day with Nan yesterday - 2 babychinos, 2 rides on the horses, 3 rides in the Big Red Car and a little Dora doll! So spoiled! Don't envy DH today having to say no to a second babychino and all the rides as they walk past them!!!
Leanne - Woah at the daycare costs!! I must admit that is something that I am freaked out about if we decide to go for number 2 (but that's still looking fairly unlikely).
Clare - When do you head back? I'm looking forward to hearing what your weird foreigner ways are when it comes to raising children.
Better do some work, got lots to do before I have next week off!!!!
-
Gosh, I finally get the chance to catch up and you're all off partying without me!!!
-
Ok Cally lets go for the 24th - that will prob work best for us... we can work out where is best closer to the date (though my vote is prob the muffin shop)
took j to the osteo this morning and he has lots of compression is his neck and head.. so she did some awesome work and will see him every week for a few weeks. i 'think' can already see more mobility... his neck had become quite immobile - mum really noticed it when she was holding him yesterday
N slept through last night.. so happy! he doesnt do that often!
-
woo hoo on the osteo MP, sounds like it's really making a difference.
sooo....you guys need to really give me a kick up the bum as i'm bl88dy clucky again! what is wrong with me? it's scareing the heck out of dh i think! LOL
-
looks like you guys need a new thread  i'll be back in a min to do!!
ginger ooohhh be careful AF might be around the corner!!
-
Oh G have another go on.
Mp woo hoo on the Osteo. When is DH home?
Cally K was very spoiled lol thats the beauty of being a nan though isn't it.
I have had an ok day today, no niggles last night or anything. Took L to maccas to play and have a little treat today. Have been sitting here cracking up at myself and the pic I put on my FB (MP I will add it to our group), who knows maybe all this laughing will put me into labour.
-
hi all
G - do it - have another!!!! you are too good a mummy to stop now... if you want to get super clucky come visit me - J is delightful today cooing and almost giggling at everything i do.
Oz - laugh yourself into labour - that'd make a good self help book i reckon!
Did a bit of shopping today - got the boys some cute outfits in seed to wear to a party on sat (and for a while after i hope lOL - N's was on sale...) and also got myself a top/dress to wear with leggings and a in b/n season jacket... and a tinted moisturiser... all on sale so dont feel to obad (except the moisturiser which is more a maintenance product LOL). I don tknow why iam buying clothes when ia m trtying to lose weight but i guess i do need to wear something....
Oz - DH will be back late sat arvo - cant wait!
-
oz- keep laughing, keep laughing, i'm hanging for your bubba to come into the world!!!
mp- what tinted moisturiser do you use? i've been eyeing one off for summer.
-
G - i bought a clinique one but DH is also getting me a laura mercier one... I am trying out some small sizes of new ones til i find one i love... was using a stila one til now but mecca here have stopped stocking it
-
yeah i was checking out a laura mercier illuminating one. looks good....
where did you get your new top/dress from?
-
i got it from a new boutique that has opened in the city here - they are both a brand i havent sen before, will look later and PM the brand to you as i think you will love it and it is v reasonably priced (like i paid about $90for the top/dress and jacket) - so i dont mind buying stuff i eill hopefully not fit soon (though they are flowing so prob wil even be goo don the new me!!)
the clinique one is v sheer, harldy any colour so good when out walking etc, iw ill tell you more about the LM one when DH brings it home (i dint mean to get 2 i bought this and then DH told me he bought me the LM one as i had said i wanted one and he saw it on the plane... aaah love the guilt purchases LOL)
i am enjoying looking thru the ww cook books etc, think it may make me learn some new meals (making morrocan lamb steaks tonight)
-
oohhh the top sounds lovely, you'll have to let me know
which ww book did you get? i got the everyday cooking 2009 one. i wanted to ask you, how many ww points should you have a day when you are breastfeeding? cos i've actually got a ww points guide from a friend who used to go there.
-
yep i have the same one.. and also one called irresisable that i got on joining, there are a few others i will get when i get bored of these ones...
I got 27 pts (it depends on height, weight, age and then extra for bf) - think you would be on the same as me prob... it is quite a lot of pts actually...
-
Oz - I had a little giggle at your pic of your DH on FB - haha what were you guys doing!? Are you setting up the studio for bubs arrival & DH decided to get in on the action!?
MP - Ohh well thats a shame but maybe there will be another time. Perth is boring anyway lol. Well done on your purchases, I've just bought clinique city block today for the first time so hope its good.
Rainy - Have another, why not. Kids are great & think of all the family you will have around you when you are older.
Well we almost had a little set back in our ttc journey yesterday, as since I had my surgery in June I've developed an umbilical hernia. I went to the doc about it yesterday just to confirm thats what it is etc, & she said hang on you are ttc arent you? She ended up ringing the hospital for a second opinion as she seemed to think I would have to wait to fall pregnant & have it repaired first. Seeing as we dont have private health we would be waiting 12 months. Nearly died then & there lol. However the hospital doc seemed to think it wouldnt be a problem & from all the research I've done about it last night I think I will be fine. Fingers crossed they dont change their mind & say repair it first.
Also bought M a tankini today at pp for Bali - cant believe the skimpy little bikinis you can buy for girls of this age its wrong!!!!
