Oz - how you feeling? I keep jumping on to see if you are still here... LOL.
Clare - sounds fun there, hope you manage to get out and about - it isnt easy being with exteded fam 24/7 esp when you arent always near them iykwim - can get underneath each others feet. Teh aprty sounds 'interesting'. i hope the vino helped!
Sherie - did you end up camping? how does A enjoy it? camping isnt usually my thing but I'd love to take N. hmmm guess i should have done that before J came along... might have to wait a yr or so i guess...
Ginger - did y9ou find shaun? i dont know who he is (and sounds like i should be glad) but i am happy topop into our ABC shop for you and post to you if you want.
Ange - good to hear from you. how are the plans coming along?
AFM - all is good here. we had a great family day yest - went to gymbaroo in the morning and then shopping/sushi in the city - our sat tradition. then spent the afternoon pottering at home, watching the grand final and playing. was really fun. not sure what we will do today - having really rotten weather so options are limited - was hoping to go to petting zoo and floriade but not sure... they have dine up the park near us now and it is fab - we went there after playgroup on friday.. so maybe we will take N later if it isnt raining.
LOL I am still here MP, I think I might go over agin with this one.
Happy Birthday to Sarah too!!!
So many birthdays, its such an exciting couple of months!!
hi girls
just a quicky from me as we are re-arranging our house at the moment. moving our whole family room set-up into the lounge room and vice versa. bought a new tv that dh is mounting on the wall as we speak. it's crazy hectic mad around here!
happy birthday to gorgeous maddie, hope you have a wonderful day! and happy birthday to sarah too
no i haven't found shaun the sheep yet and i'm starting to get panicked! my friend is making a paddock with flakes as the fence and i have nothing to put in it!!!!!
will try to pop on later and catch up some more xoxo
Ginger - I'm happy to print out a shaun and laminate it and send it to you. It will take me no time at all.
Sounds like heaps of fun at your place!! I looooove rearranging furniture. Enjoy your new tv
thanks jazah, you are sweet! i'm gonna try a shop up the road tomorrow and if they don't have them i might just have to take you up on that offer.....will let you know tomorrow if that's ok? was really hoping for a figurine to stand up in the paddock iykwim?
Just jumping on to say Happy Birthday Sarah :birthday2: - Did mummy manage to not stab the cake this year? LOL
And also Happy Birthday to the fabulous Miss Maddie!! :birthday2:
I hope everyone enjoys their special day today! BBL I hope....Oh and no party here today, kinda works out better for everyone next week anyway.
hi girls!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADDIE!!!!
MamaPan: oh i do like the sound of your saturday tradition...mmm sushi!
MD: i guess the no party today has the silver lining if in the end it suits everyone much better for next week, and this way you will be tip top to be the hostess with the mostess!
G: say whaatt?! LOL! sounds like fun at your house with the redecorating! i always find doing things like that can really lift a place and mood.
Jaz: ha ha! yeah we are having fun, where there is food for me there is happiness...i am a simple creature at times lol
AFM: well we had a LOVELY night last night. took leila to a friends house..well i say house loosely. they live in a 16th century castle in the foothills of the mountains of tuscany. with frescos and all. it is a 4 storey sprawling place. they have 4 kids in age from 3 months to 8 years. and other friends had their kids so the young uns numbered around 10ish and they all went mad. running around until about midnight :o. so much fun, and it is not often that you get to sit on chairs that were made in the 1500s in a massive dining hall that no doubt has seen many different ppl and things pass through. leila LOVED the space. she couldnt believe her eyes LOL! needless to say we are all very tired, and are off to more family things today. we are going to see DHs nonna (she is quite unwell ATM after having had a stroke so DH is a bit nervous, but i am sure that it will be fine).
other than that not much to report. cant wait to post pics of our trip though! leila is going through a gorgeous phase (note the mummy bias LOL!)
Clare - that sounds absolutely divine!!! I wish I was there too.
Happy bday to sarah for yesterdaytoo - sorry i am so hopeless!
Ginger - i am going to the city tomorrow hopefully, i will look for a shaun for you - i can express post it and it will be there in time. the flake is a great idea for the fence, i used those choc stick biscuits but they were gard to find and nearly resulted in me using scotch fingers - hemnce why i have so many choc scoth fingers in the house atm (well actually we dont have that many left anymore...) anyway let me know if you want me to look for one and post to you. i did a barnyard ake and i just used normal animals? or is he that into shaun... geez te things we stress about
Clare - sounds divine,. i miss europe so much. hope Dh nonna was ok. i cant wait to see pics.
Happy Birthday's to Sarah, Maddie and Asha hope you all had super fun days.
Hi everyone
Quiet again!
MamaP - I made Zoe a New McDonald's Farm cake one year, and I used the CurlyWurly chocolate bar for the fence. It looked great - (if I may say so myself!)
Ginger - I hope you can find your Shaun!
pap- thanks for your offer :) i went to the shop up the road from me and they said that the figurines were very rare and almost impossible to find....anyway, i ended up buying two small soft toys- one shaun and one timmy..and they will sit together on top of the cake. i'm pretty happy with that!
G - glad you found something!
i had to pop in and say there is a Ginger2 around??? :o
what the? who is this imposter?
oh no, people are pming me now to tell me there's a ginger2 and they are worried that members will get us confused....what should i do guys, should i change my name?
Hi girls!
Happy birthday to those I missed and thank you for all of Sarahs and my birthday wishes. We've had a busy week here. My mum, sister and 2 nephews came to surprise me on my birthday. They were due up on Thursday but snuck in a day early. So we've had a full house and I have had very limited access to the computer. We've also had DHs family in town for the week and even though they aren't staying with us, they were here daily for nearly the entire day. It was frustrating, loud and very messy. DH had been away working for the last 3 weeks or so and came back sunday night and left yesterday to head back out. My family as well as his all left town yesterday also so last night was very quiet. Almost too quiet. ;)
Rory had forgotten about my birthday and had to be reminded by his niece (who found out via facebook) the night before. :wall: Idiot he is but I buy what I want whenever so was too worried.
My mates took me to sizzlers on tuesday night (i was hanging for cheese toast lol) and then a few of us went driving around afterwards 'souveniering'. Which is just driving randomly around and picking stuff up off the side of the road, then usually dumping outside someone elses place. ie...grabbed a tyre from the side of the road then left it outside a mates house who had piked early on dinner. Heaps of fun made even more exciting by the fact that I had a few drinks in me for the first time in a while. :p
I got some roses on wednesday from rory as a suck up, then went shopping with a mate for a dress. She brought me a maxi dress as a bday pressie and I love it!
Sarahs bday party was awesome even though i forgot to put out the jelly and the arrowroot bikkies. Oopsie...more for us later lol. The cake was great and the kids had a ball. I had gotten sarah a ladybug costume from ebay (LONG LIVE EBAY!) and she looked super cute in that. I didn't take any pics cos I had like 5 amatuer photographers roaming the party, so just waiting for them to send them thru or pop them on facebook. Sarah scored with pressies and we ended up getting her a slide for her. Its a wave one that has a hose attachment so it can become a water slide also.
Shes been a bit off lately and I'm not sure why. I put it down to her missing DH for a while but she also developed a nasty sounding cough that seemed to hit around the time of the dust storms so I'm assuming thats related. She has been really whiny today but after a very full on week of family everywhere and lollies galore at her party, I'm not too surprised.
My best buddy up here made me a cake for my bday, she decided not to bring it to sizzlers as it was definately NOT PG rated lol. She did a 'Jizz in my Pants' cake, so basically a pair of pants with a penis coming out of the zipper and jizz on the pants. Hilarious and very clever but I'm liking her decision to give me that at my place instead of in public.
DH and I have not had much chance to sort stuff out. Like I said before, hes been away heaps and our phone calls are so stilted. I didn't want to rock the boat too much with sarahs party on the weekend but even if I did, we had family coming out of the yingyang.
I'm trying to think of anything else to update you all on....oh wait, I know!!! Since starting the gym 6 months again I have lost 15kg! So I have lost half of what I am hoping to lose in total and am back to what i was when i fell pregnant with Sarah. Woot!! I'm stoked with that, just hoping to lose the rest by xmas. Big ask but gotta have goals in life.
Anyhoo, mind is fried still so will leave my novel at this point. Just wanted to say that I have been thinking of you all and have been sending thoughts, prayers and good luck vibes to those that need them. Hugs to all and hopefully I can pop back in a bit more regularly now that i have my spare room/office back. hehe
(whoops, gate crasher here .... Ah, pretty please NO changing your name lovely GINGER ... we ALL know you well enough to know the difference ... um, sorry i was one of those that PM'd you  ... hopefully my 2nd PM gave you a good laugh ;))
Happy Birthday Miss Luella!!! Hope you had a lovely day Big Miss 2 Year Old!! :birthday2:
Ginger I'm shocked that there's a usurper in action. No Don't Change Your Name (tho I think perhaps the newcomer should...can we have some moderator action on this)? BTW glad you found a Shaun solution...I did have a look at the ABC shop today but didn't find anything...
OMG Clare you're not just doing Italia, you're doing the movie version of! I read the castle episode about 5 times, I cannot tell you how thrilled I am you are there enjoying it all and even more thrilled you're telling us all about it!
Kate good to hear from you, glad you had a lovely birthday, and I can't wait to see the ladybird photos, sounds so sweet! (you know I"m a ladybird fan too!)
Quiet again, wonder how everyone's getting on. ILs are behaving themselves here, though DH isn't relaxing yet. Missy E is a very cranky little chops tonight and will be going to bed EARLY!!!
Happy birthday luella!!!!! I was just in the bath and i remembered it was today!!!!
md- thanks for looking at abc shop for me :)
Happy Birthday to Luella! Hope you've had a fabulous day :)
Happy Birthday Luella!! Hope you have had a wonderful day!
Ange I so wanna do the feet photos of you guys now lol.
Ginger don't change your name I love it.
MD glad the inlaws are behaving lol.
Kate good to hear from you. How nice of your family making an early arrival.
A big fat howdy to everyone else, I truly cant remember anything else....... sorry.
Not much happening here. L is back to his fine self and keeps me laughing most days. He is so cheeky. Tomorrow is the first day he has care and I have no plans... I am bored just thinking about it lol.
Thanks for birthday wishes. We pretended it was yesterday and had cake with my family. It was a lovely day. Lu had a ball. My brothers bought her a mini tramp and she LOVES it. Great way to wear her out when the weather is bad!
Trill- Yup, he really has a toe for a thumb! Trimmed down though. It is pretty amazing. He was very lucky to have one of the top plastic surgeons in Melb fixing it.
Ginger- i think you should change it to Gilligan. :p Nah, you're the original, no-one will get confused. ;)
Kate- WTG on the weight loss! Good work. Lucky for FB or he might have forgotten your birthday all together. :o
Mummapan- Plans going well thanks. Things have changed a little. DH is now going over for two weeks in a little while to get a few things sorted. Then he'll be back and we'll pack, then he'll go over again, come back and we'll all go. So the traveling plans in the next few months have changed somewhat! But more time for me to catch up with girlfriends i guess.
Well i think i'm off to bed. I have a party hang over. The excitement has worn me out!
I have been without internet the whole weekend! Torture!
A huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Asha, Maddie, Luella and Sarah
Oz, I jumped straight into the Birth Announcements to see if I had missed anything, but you are still hanging on lol. Hope you had a good night on Saturday.
MD, yay for your secret present. I have some suspicions about who it was, what a lovely gift.
Will catch up later if I ever get a chance.
All going well here, W is back to his normal self. I suspect the horror week of tantrums was mainly due to his cold - DH caught it and was popping cold and flu pills like candy and had a couple of days off work. He has also slept through a couple of times lately!
It is so adorable to see W and A together. He calls her Mia, and to other people he calls her "Our Mia". So cute.
A is a dream, she is such a happy placid baby. I am getting the odd smile now too. She doesn't seem like much of a newborn already.
Hey everyone!!!!
Belated happy birthday wishes to Sarah and Luella!!!! I'm so glad that you had such great birthdays!!!!
Just quick from me - it's assembly day today and both Lindsay and Erin's classes are performing and then I have a hair appointment before the Big Wedding LOL. I am also footloose and child free - DH had to go to Wagga today so he's taken the other two with him!!!
G - don't you dare go changning your name - in all likelyhood this new Ginger wont make herself part of the furniture. Plus you have your gorgeous avatar self to let everyone know it's you :)
happy birthday gorgeous luella! hope you had a fab day on monday (i mean sunday LOL!!!)
Ginger - dont change your name - you are the original and thebest... maybe the mods could ask the new person to chg her name as it will get confusing and i am sure she didnt mean to be an imposter!!! glad you got something sorted for the cake - the things we stress about!!!
Arte - good to hear from you, it sounds like things are going beautofully for you - so good to hear!
Oz - i know something you could do while Logan is in care..... or you could relax for once!!
Sherie - enjoy kid free day... doing anything spec for your hair? when is the wedding?
Ange - sounds like a hectic few months ahead but fab you get some time to catch up with people before you go. did you watch australian story last night? (i imagine maybe it would be too emotional for you?) - i thought of you a lot last night. and i shed alot of tears watching it, it also brought back lots of memories and fears about when the fires hit here (we nearly lost our family house and my mum stayed to fight the fire).
Kate - great to hear from you.. and you sound b happy. sounds like a fun bday for you and so lovely of your fam to surprise you. WTG on the weight loss.. thats what i need to do...
AFM all is well. Noah is v clingy at the moment. i am worried how he will be when DH goes away as he is suspicious all the time we are going away... off to the dr in an hour with J to see about his fontanelle so wish me luck. think i will get his 2 month needles too - am booked to do with nurses next week but woud prefer gp did it i think.
mamapap- good luck with j at the dr's. i've been getting jimmy's needles done at the dr's this time too, i did all lewis' at the community ones but got tired of the waiting around and watching other kids scream.
ange- glad lu had a great day. looking forward to seeing you on sunday :)
sherie- enjoy your kid free day. sounds like heaven to me!
thanks for all your reassurances about my name, i'll just leave it be for a while and see if this new ginger hangs around or maybe disappears.
well i'm having a home day and decided to drive up to the bakery to get some bread and milk and my tyre popped! luckily i had the mountain buggy in the back as i had to leave my car on the side of the road and walk the kids back home! i'm so hungry now and hanging for a bakery coffee....spewin!
Hi all
Quiet in here today! lots of green lights on (I literally justw orked out what they mean LOL) so hopefully some chatter soon!
Well I got J's needles done, poor little guy I forgot how awful it is to do.. but I do prefer to do it at dr than nurses - just nc i dont have to wait around, can get other things checked and I dont have to see all the other kids having them done too...
Dr also checked the fontanelle and agrees they are v small or closed... he thought is hould goto paed but he called the paed and spoke tohim while i was there and the paed asked all sorts of q's and then was ok not to see us. that was a relief though maybe i would feel better if the paed actually saw him iykwim? anyway they want me to get head circ done every 2 weeks and see the gp in 2 months just to be sure it is ok but they are ok with it all. so it is a load off my mind (kind of!).
J is growing up so much - he is lying on a may chewing on his hands now... adorable. he is kinda trying to roll over (a long way off it but making the mvts) which is cute too.
My mum is in town tonight - N will be so excited to see her, she will come to pick him up from kindy with me.
I havea board meeting tomorrow night so DH and I will take J out for dinner beforehand and mum will babysit, will be nice to get out
DH is sick - his glands are HUGE, he has a headache and lots of temp spikes. he was riding it out but i am sending him to dr tonight, i cant risk him getting really sick and i hear there is a bad bug going around.
G - bummer on the car... will the racv fix it? lucky for the MB!!! I have been using mine and i LOVE it! I also chgd the bugaboo over from basinette to seat and J is so muchappier in it like that - a v diff baby to N!
pap-good news about j. it musn't be too much of a problem if the paed doesn't need to see you.
dh doesn't believe in roadside assistance (he's such a weirdo sometimes) i think he just doesn't like paying for stuff he can do himself iykwim? so......when i get stuck, i'm really stuck!! luckily i didn't get too far up the road so it wasn't too far to walk......pity i wasn't wearing a bra and still had my nightie on underneath my cardi and a pair of ugg boots!!!
have you been putting your mb in the back of your car? it is such a pita to put back in i reckon. i love it for going for walks, but when i go to shopping centres i still use my stroller and ergo...partly cos j is such a pita though and won't fall asleep in the pram but will in the sling. i think i'll still be wearing j in a sling when he's 5.
not much is going on around here, just hoping for some sunshine on sunday for our party please!!!
G - I havent put the MB in and out of the car yet, more been using it just for walks from here and kindy drop off and pick up... i hear it is annoying to put in and out so hope i can avoid and i think i will go to shops mainly when i just have one of them or use sling and stroller... or N walkind and bugaboo. so many options LOL!
I was sure I posted this morning, must be placenta brain lol. Almost had a car accident this morning, thankfully I had just dropped L off at kindy. All is fine with me and bub stopped at the shops called mum and had some choc milk lol.
MP I guess its a good thing if the pead doesn't want to see you. Hopefully it isn't anything to worry about.
G had a giggle picturing you walking home in a nightie and ugg boots lol.
Arte it sounds like things are going great for you at the moment.... great news.
Trill woo hoo on being child free today, enjoy!!!
Ange your cake looked awesome!!!
omg oz!!! are you ok? pretty shaken up i bet.
G yeah I am fine, was very shaken up. The worst bit was it was a woman driving a child care centre van and I just kept thinking what if I had of hit her and there were kids in the car?? She just pulled out in front of me when she was meant to give way.
Oz - glad you are ok... i hope the choc milk helped LOL!
G I also had a ig laugh at you walking home in your nightie and uggs. glad i am not the only one who occasionally pops out like that!
wow oz- that's scarey, she should've been driving carefully with kiddies in her van. idiot!
yeah i always pop into the bakery looking like i've just got outta bed cos they know me there so i don't care what i look like iykwim? the last thing i expected to be doing was going for a walk with my 2 kids down the tourist road LOL
quick question guys- a new montessori kinder has just opened up near me. does anyone know anything about montessori?
hey there
i dont know heaps about it, but i did look into it for N - it is more creative and a different way of learning. you can find loads of info on the net.
For us, I would consider it for preschool and maybe v early years but not in the longer term - i think it is great for the early yrs... but i am prob too conservative (and DH DEF is) to do it for all of their education. its a v personal choice though and i have heard loads of great things about it.
Def worth a look and speaking to the principal or someone about it to see if it fits with what you and DH would like for the boys. i think it really suits some kids (my cousins went in the US andit was fab for them)
HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY WISHES TO LUELLA!!!
oZ: sheesh that woulda been scary! glad you are all ok xx
Ange: oh its gonna be a few busy months for you with all the getting ready to move and all! so exciting though!
sherie: that's right, the wedding will be coming up soon! make sure you post some pics of the kids in their gorgeous outfits!
Kate: awesome to hear from you! te he he on the antics! hope your friend liked the "present" lol!
MamaP: wow! J already in the bug seat! wowsers. time flies.
ginger: oh dear. but dont worry...i have been caught out braless in my uggs in my pyjamas chasing my dog down the street. proper bogan style LOL!
AFM: all good here. spent yesterday arvo in BENETTON. oh la la! here it is not so exxy as in australia. more a CR price rather than a Guess price ITMS. so have found some lovely cashmere jumpers for leila for next year and a tonne of things for myself :) we get tourist discount too which is nice. also, benetton does maternity wear! man, they are sooo fashionable here lol!
leila is turning into a proper italian kid, last night we had dinner with at a friends place...first course was served at 9pm!! :o by 11pm we were almost done and Leila was still the life of the party! she is doing well to cope i reckon. but i think it is helped by the fact that there are kids everywhere and everyone loves babies. today at the cafe she was paraded around by the owner (long time friends of DHs family) and given heaps and heaps of sweet pastries (the man who makes them is quite famous in italy for his sweet cream fillings...mmmmm).
other than that not much else to report, just enjoying the sunshine and shopping!
