Hi everyone!
Gotta be quick as I am on my I touch and about to go get Noah
Cally - are you going on Friday to the concert? I will be there with Noah and some friends on Friday
Clare you had me in stitches with your il stories! Though I am sure it was np laughing matter at the time
Md wish I could slow time down for you babe
Sheeie - a is such a wonderful character! Will read your blog later
Supa - congrats!!
Mm - love the sound of your hpliday
Noni hugs to you sounds like a rough time
Ok will be back layer lovely ladies just wanted to say hello at least
-
hey everyone,
swimming this morning with asha and then hopefully ill be able to do some tidying when i get home.. kids woke up half hour before dh's alarm today :( hate it when that happens!!
trill - i know its all a matter of cracking the cycle that im in.. some days i do ok and get a few things done other days i sit around saying ok in half an hour im gonna get up and do x but ofc that time gets extended to the point where i dont do anything.. im really struggling with eating too just eating really badly and sitting around upset about my weight.. would love to go back to weigt watchers but we just cant afford it atm :( maybe ill look into online membership coz u can get it alot cheaper, as long as i still follow it not having to weigh in at meetings and all..
as for the baby thing Asha is also becoming my little girl rather than my baby.. were having trouble breaking the dummy/bottle thing, shes really comforted by them and especially at school shes needed them lately.. but nappies are a sleep time only thing here now, yesterday i decided to send her in undies again to childcare coz shed been going for them and she came home in the same undies and pants :D so proud!!!
anyways hope everyones having a good morning :)
-
Noni WTG Asha on having the same undies on.
Cally and MO L loves playschool, I wish I could take him to the live show.
Sherie A is so cute, sounds like a daddy's boy like L. Sounds like you will be buying loads of red and orange shirts lol.
Clare I would be peeved at DH about the lack of notice and I too wouldn't be comfortable about the ex.
MD I am cracking up picturing E playing totem tennis lol.
L is also joining the no longer a baby club. Having Z makes me notice how grown up he is even more.
-
Its true isnt it - I cant believe how grown up N is these days. the things that come out of his mouth sometimes just amaze me! Though he has started to call me 'Mum' - I want to be called 'Mummy' for a long time yet thank you very much!!!
J has his needles yest - poor little guy... he was so upset after it, he wouldnt even feed... then last night he screamed and screamed at bed time. thankfully once i got him down he was his usual self overnight (ie 3 feeds!) and seems a bit better today. i hate the needles so much!
N had his chickenpox vacc on friday (bad mum having the 18 month one now!!) - he threw up a few times on the weekend, i dont know if it was vacc related or some sort of gastro...
Arte - thats a good pt re N's eating = he doesnt have his molars yet... spo maybe that's it. though i think it is behavioural.. so we are trying not to give it much attention... he has eaten a bit better the last 2 days... (maybe it was his tummy)
I have been really busy trying to sort out the move to melb... we have so much to do! i have N in a creche which is awesome... trying to work out what to do with J when I go back to work... what age did you all start at creches?
WW meeting today... not looking fwd to it, been a bit off the rails this week...
-
MP, I meant to say a big fat YAY!!! for moving back to Melbourne. Is that where you come from? From memory your families are all there, so that will be fantastic!
Trill, I had a look at your blog and it makes me want to move to the country! We were looking at buying some land here but I am not sure - probably can't afford to. But I would really love the children to grow up in the country, we had a few acres and had pet cows/sheep/chooks and I loved it. A sounds adorable, but I am glad that W is too much a mumma's boy to wander lol
Noni, it is rut-ville here too. Sometimes it is alright, then other times I get so sick of living the same day over and over. And I keep eating whatever junk food I can find, the fact that we don't have any bathroom scales allows me to deny that I am about 10kgs heavier than pre-preg.
MD, E must be adorable playing with the tennis thing. I love the unco look - like when you throw a ball and they stand with arms out waiting and it still sails right into them lol
Cally, playschool sounds cool. It isn't on here anymore. Did you know that NZ playschool had toys with the same names (except we had an extra maori baby called Manu). I felt so ripped off when I saw the Aussie one and realised that what I thought was a peice of traditional kiwi childhood was actually a cheap copy lol
Clare, I am flying solo this week too. DH has gone away until Thursday night. 3 whole days. Alone. I am hoping like heck that W has easy bedtimes. How is your Oma doing now?
Bedtime has become a nightmare! On friday and sunday nights he kept coming out of bed wanting something/tantruming etc for up to two hours! Then he wakes at 2ish, keeps getting up for the next couple of hours and then gets up for the day at 4am. It was hell. Really hoping he doesn't do it while DH is away.
-
arte - i am about 10kgs heavier too tho i wanna lose more than that maybe around 15 - 20.. first goal is 5 tho.. some radical changes need to be made around here tho, eating instant noodles for breakfast this morning wont help lol and take away last night.. gotta start planning meals and get it under controll.. bedtime is a nightmare here atm too.. i think its coz we had a few really hot days and we let her fall asleep on the lounge coz her room was rediculously hot damn weather!!
mp - goodluck at weight watchers hope it goes ok even though uve had a bit of an off week.. wow 3 feeds overnight idk how u do it! william feeds alot during the day and then last feed around 10 - 11 and then again around 6.30 or sometimes earlier but usually he will nap a little after the feed if it was earlier than 630 and i still complain about being tired :(
-
hi girls!
Noni: that is so amazing about A keeping dry through the day. what an achievment for your little girl!
MP: Leila started creche at 6 months. she was in for 2 days a week. but i had the luxury of being on campus and was able to visit her twice a day for boobie juice and cuddles (i would also be able to put her to bed etc etc).
Arte: eepp! 3 days with no DH! i have to say that i know that i will be fine, it's more the lead-up IYKWIM. i am also desperately trying to round up the troops to keep us entertained over the weekend LOL!
My Oma is doing ok. she goes two steps forward 1 step back. still in rehab for oldies, but hopefully she can have a day stay over christmas so we can all spend it together.
AFM: all good here! just had MG and it was lovely. lots of coffee and yummy food! hmmm other then that nothing to report LOL! gosh we are exciting!
-
Hi everyone. I've updated my RLR thread (!)
-
MD, Yay!!!!!!! That is the best news I have heard in ages.
Noni, forgot to say Well Done to Asha for the dry knickers! She is doing sooo well with it.
One day nearly down....
W came out of his room at bedtime so I shut the door - it has been 20 mins with no noise so hopefully he took the hint and went to sleep.
He pulled A off the couch onto the floor today. I was so mad! But he seemed genuinely sorry and apologised to her - I don't think he realised that it would hurt her.
-
MD that is the best news ever!!!!!
Arte L often tries to play with Z or pick her up if she is crying lol, very sweet but very scary.
MP I am getting called mum lots too and dont like it one bit lol.
Boring day here today, got loads of housework to do so hopefully Z lets me do it.
-
MD I am soooooooooo happy for you, excellent news indeed. So relieved for you!!!!!!!! Well done you have been so strong.
Noni - I have a bit of an idea but dont know how it will go down seeing as you are tired with little W to care for, but bike riding is a fantastic work out and its good fun. If you can get your hands on a 2nd hand bike if you dont have one, when DH gets home from work go for a half hr ride, the fresh air will make you feel relaxed also and just to get out of the house on your own will do you good. You could also go early in the morn before DH leaves for work, but this may be too much with waking during the night for W. I just think you really need some ME time and exercise makes you feel great and seeing as you want to find time to fit it in anyway as you want to lose the baby weight.
Trill - Thanks for the advice, I feel the same, I can be quite rude when it comes to food and M, I dont like doing it, but sometimes thats what it takes to get the msg through. Of course that msg doesnt last lol. As for A running away, had to have a little giggle. He just wants to be like dad doesnt he. What a cutie. At least you know one of your kids has the potential to take over the farm one day! I love the sound of country living too, it sounds wonderful.
MP - Congrats on the move back to Melb, is your work transferring you? Are you back at work yet?
Clare - Oh nooooo, why is he going to NZ? Work? It better not be for fun, leaving you home!! Maybe if you ask him not to meet up with the ex, would he respect that?
Oz - Glad to hear from you!!! Z is an absolute little darling, how are you finding having a girl? As they get older it gets to be much more fun with dressing them up & putting their hair into styles lol. Yes you can tell M & I have a ball with this, she loves putting on a 'pretty dress' and then runs to our room to gaze at herself in the full length mirror. How are you feeling, tired much?
Arte - Forgot to mention, cant believe that A is sitting, she is a fast learner like her big bro!!
-
MD, still smiling when I think about your news
Oz, good to hear from you. The pics of Z (and L) are adorable - you make beautiful children. How is Z going? She must be at the extra cute babble stage?
MM, A isn't quite sitting yet - she can last for 5-10 seconds, but it is only balancing iykwim. She needs to be places very specifically to stay up lol
Ginger, are you back from your trip yet? I hope the kids travelled well. Aren't your IL's in NSW? That is another point in favour of staying in Melbourne lol
Both my children are asleep! A is even in her cot. We have been working on her having naps in there rather than me holding her and it is going o.k. She will often stay asleep for a sleep cycle now, which actually gives me a chance to do stuff (except here I am on BB lol).
DH just called - the hearing that he went to about our resource consent was scheduled to last for 2-3 hours but he was out of there in 30 minutes. The opposers didn't even bother to show and the hearing panel commented on the good-ness of the report I made. We don't get an official answer for a few days, but it is all looking good.
W is obsessed with hunting and fishing now (thanks DH). He sits and looks at the catalogues and points out all the lures, rods, scopes, ba-nokias (binoculars lol), guns etc. He even told me the other day that he needs a rifle!!
-
hi girls, just popping in to let you know i'm back and i'm exhausted! just subscribing to the thread, haven't read anything yet, will hopefully get a chance to read up today. xoxoxo
-
Hi girls!
COOOEEEE can all you melbourne girls see the storm coming??!!! WOW! looks amazing from my 6th floor office window!!!
Arte: YAY!!! sounds like the hearing will go in your favour!
MM: if i did ask DH would just laugh at me, and no, wouldnt listen...he's good like that
G: did ya have fun?!
-
hi there
computer doing weird things again... grrrrrrrrrrr. i camt see any posts after my last one, so sorry if i miss anything. hopefully when i post this it will show me your posts and i can come back and do some personals...
MD tell me the news - i cant find that thread and i am excited you have great news!
Sherie - love your blog!
Clare - wow on leilas room and in fact your whole house. where are you living? is it around brunswick - i cant remember. i will be in malvern prob when we move - looking fwd to a new mothers group with you lovely melb ladies!
Ginger - how was syd?
-
MP - I had the first CT scan since chemo ended & no signs of recurrence!!! Which is pretty exciting cos there was no other proof that the chemo worked...Dr said officially that's the end of the lymphoma treatment (wahooo!) but of course they will keep an eye on me with regular appts and annual scans. I know: another chapter of Boring Medical Details  but a bit of a milestone this year - feel like I"m finally putting things behind me, kwim?
Well the other Boring Medical News is that E's pathology came back showing zippo so she can finally go back into care. Yippee as she is definitely sick and tired of hanging around at home all week (haven't been about to get out the house with her while she's been under suspicion of contagion) although it's been nice spending more time than usual with her and I think she's feeling it too as she has been a lot more wanting mummy (and not daddy haha) than usual.
Looking forward to hearing about lots of happy Melb get togethers in the new year!!
Arte - congratulations on your unofficial but highly likely victory - and I totally appreciate the kick-ass-ness of your excellent report in achieving this outcome! (*highfive*) I had a similar moment, I heard a really distasteful radio promo a couple of weeks ago - involving making light of someone who has just been given one month to live by their dr (:wtf:). I saw red and all I could think of was the teenage daughter of a local lady who died that week and how she would feel if she heard that on the radio!!!! I sent a scrupulously researched & worded letter to the radio station (yes it contained footnote references LOL), reminding them of their duty under the Code of Conduct to provide a substantive and considered response...well I got a letter back yesterday that blathered on for a page as to how they hadn't broken the code & how the ad would not be considered offensive to their target audience BUT THEN they apologised profusely and pulled the promo of air, permanently. I consider that a WIN. And yay for A sleeping...!!
Ginger, looking forward to hearing all about your trip! :)
Noni, how are you going sweetie - hope you're starting to feel a little more motivated - maybe start with something small and achievable - they say cleaning out under the bathroom cupboard's a good one as you always get to throw a lot of stuff out and it's always very satisfying - might give u some oomph to tackle somethign bigger.
Well I'm completely forgotten everything else...spent FOUR HOURS at my pre-surg appt today - OMG my file is that thick it's embarrassing. Although the anaesthetist chick hastened to remind me that I'm actually pretty darn healthy and expected to do well in surgery - so that was reassuring after feeling like a broken down old woman for most of the year. I was pretty chilled out this morning which is a nice change, I remember I was beside myself the morning I was there for the lumpectomy . That was the beginning of a whole big scary journey, I guess this is more like the end and besides I know how good the staff there are now. Plus I'm like a jaded hospital veteran now
-
congrats to MD and Supa B...so thrilled for you both, for different reasons of course :) wonderful wonderful news..
hhhmm...i wouldn't exactly call my holiday fun....in fact, i don't think 'holiday' is exactly the right way to describe it.
-
Oh no Ginger, what happened? You were so right about holidays with kids not really being holidays at all.
MD, WTG on getting the ad pulled. Some of the things radio stations come up with is appalling! A few years ago Hell Pizza in NZ got fined for having a promotion for A Trip That Could Last A Lifetime - to Bali and you had to carry a body board bag through customs. So distasteful for any of Schapelle Corby's family (but I admit I did have a little giggle ). My report was excellent though, it was about 8 pages long with 14 Appendices as well. It looked fancy.
MP, how goes the sleeping at your house?
-
hi girls
no nothing bad happened on my holiday, just lots of time spent looking after tired, hot kids who were out of their normal environment iykwim? luckily one of dh's friends was their with his DD and she was fantastic with lewis, spent lots of time with him. it was ok...i'm just glad to be home iykwim? looking forward to when the kids are a little older and holidays really will be more fun.
dh came 3rd in his class in the bridge to bridge so that was a nice surprise. it was very exciting watching him ski past, i started bawling my eyes out cos i was so proud of him.
we weighed lewis when we were away and he weighed 16kgs! fatty!!!!
speaking of fattys, i'm thinking of asking santa for a cross-trainer for xmas so i can jump on it in the mornings for a while. has anyone got one?
pap- is malvern where you were from before? it's a lovely area.
noni- how is everything going? my dh can be a total selfish pig too at times, i think he gets it from his mother lol. i hope you're getting a bit more of a hand from your dh. 2 babies is hard work!
renee- my friend used maybe baby and loved it, i don't know anything about it sorry. have you worked it all out yet?
-
G did you see Sarah Blasko perform at the ARIA's? I didnt watch it but seen a clip this morning. Well done to your DH too.
-
hey everyone,
im still around just really tired..
so stressed over money and stuff atm.. just got a HUGE bill for going over our download limit and then i got paid today from the work i did and its almost $300 short arrrrggghhhhh!!!! ive got xmas laybys to pay off and things to get etc etc im sooo stressed!! have emailed the lady in accounts at the company.. hopefully she can work it out coz i am bloody confused!
hope everyones having a good say will come back for personals when ive calmed down a bit (pay day was today so i only just found out about this money thing) ahh i had it all planned out where it was going etc!
-
Noni, full commisserations, that's the pits, right before christmas too. I'm sure they will get it sorted out. Bummer about the download limit, we chose a plan that throttles us back to dialup but never costs a cent more for that exact reason.
Ginger yay for your DH, I hear you on hte bursting with pride moment! So nice that Lewis had a little friend to play with (why am I not surprised it was girl LOL such a ladies man ROFL). I don't have a cross trainer but I'm determined to kick Santa in the shins if he doesn't bring me a rebounder. BTW I"m sure the word fatty doesn't apply to you one jot.
Oh and speaking of (not) fatties. When I saw the surgeon, he had to fill out the surgery consent form and asked how much I weighed - I told him (3 figures) and he looked stunned and said really? He said he'd just refused a flap recon for a woman who weighed about 15 kg less than me - but had never blinked an eyelid with me (pretty remarkable since this man has now seen and touched my naked upper body on at least 7 or 8 different occasions so ya think he would've noticed I'm a bit FAT)??! I obviously carry it well PMSL .
Arte - I am most supremely impressed with your 14 appendices. Tres tres fancy.
Oz - I didn't see it (I was with DD1 at the planetarium) but will have to chase it down - caught about 3 seconds of Kate Miller-Heidke as I came in the back door but missed the rest of it.
-
well the pays been fixed up ill get the rest next week which is fine anyway because that much was going on laybys anyway bleh just annoying! as for the bill they will get their money when i can afford it lol ill just be paying it in installments..
gosh asha is chucking a tanty over cake that we dont even have lol
ginger - i had a cross trainer but i used it for the first month and then it just started to collect dust like things like that do.. sometimes i wish i still had it tho but it took up alot of room..
-
oz- no i didn't see sarah blasko, spewing!!! i love her so much. i've seen her live 3 times though so i guess that's something ;)
noni-i'm scared if i get a cross trainer it will end up gathering dust too, i'm so sick of not exercising though. i have to do something!!!
md- you do carry it very well, you're so tall so you look great :)
-
I didnt see Sarah Blasko perform but I did see ROBBIEEEEEEE MMMM oh yeah!!!!
-
MM - Oh I *love* Robbie too :)!!
-
whose robbie??? :hide:
MD: you go girl! i reckon that takes determination to get a radio to pull an ad! WTG!
Ginger: at risk of sounding like a twat...get a bike! throw on the trailer (or buy one of those bikes with a box on the front) and off you go with kidlets in tow! i ride with DD to uni and love it!
congrats to your DH for his stellar performance!
Noni: glad the pay has been sorted. bit of bummer though with having to wait until next payday. can you change teh internet plan to just have slower dialup internet when you go over the quota? we do that....
MP: we now live in Northcote! i reckon you should too ;)
AFM: well DH and i had a date day today. had lunch out and did a bit of shopping for pressies. then i dragged him to see new moon with me! can i just say that i had fleeting guilt at lusting after the Jacob guy...only cause i *think* IRL he's only 17??!! team jacob all the way LOL!
Leila has accustomed to the big girl bed really well. although in the mornings she tends to just get up and play in her room rather than wanting to hang out with us
-
I will have to hunt it down, it will be on you tube I am sure. I know she won best female so woohoo.
G your so lucky having seen her 3 times.
I am not much of a Robbie fan
ETA Robbie Williams Clare. Woo hoo on he date too.
-
Oh come on Oz!!! hehehe, no I know he isnt everyones cup of tea! ;)
-
oh, i forgot to tell you all...i've got dh to agree that if i agree to move to sydney, we'll definitely ttc #3. big move from the man who was going to get the snip 6 months ago! LOL woooo hoooo i reckon! we've already picked out names and everything ROFL
-
Oz: ahhh i have heard of him LOL! i am so vague sometimes LOL!
G: ha ha! you are too funny! and really good at driving a bargain ;)
Leila was SOOOO tired after kindy today! unbelievable hour and half of indecision and crying. first the shower on was offensive, then when it was turned off it was a tragedy...ahhhh practice for the teenage years me thinks LOL!
-
Wooo hoooo G great bargaining skills!!
Clare lol I am so vague most of the time.
-
Yayyyy Ginger!!
Anyone else got a toddler skipping their daytime nap?
-
Noooo Ginger! Don't move to Sydney...Melbourne's muuuuuuch better (and closer for me to fly to for visits ;)). Still it shows he's come round in a big way! :D
MM we've had a few skips but mostly due to sore ears, etc. She usually crashes later in the day and will have a quiet lie-down when she needs it. Like her mumma = loves to sleep.
Clare we are having similar issues - esp re food. Wants food, has tanty when food is brought, food is taken away, screams like a terror victim. The joys of toddlerhood! Perfectly normal I think. I was LOLing at your Team Jacob moment, ya dirty old woman PMSL.
Am supposed to be helping (read = doing all the work) cleaning out DD1's bedroom at the moment...no wonder I'm procrastinating on BB! It's pack-a-gun feral in there, might get my leg chewed off by a wild animal before I make it out of there.
-
Haha md might get ur leg chewed off.. Sounds like our spare room!!
Have had an ok day here apart from dh sulking over us having no money.. Hello its xmas ofc there's no extra money layin round!
Made some cards with asha this morning and we put our tree up this avo since the first is a tuesday..
William had a little try of soke peach today.. He was winging and carrying on and eating his hands and I cut a little bit of ashas peach off and let him suck on it.. He loved it.. Kept pulling my hand back to his mouth coz I was holding it.. Wasn't planning on introducing solids early meh prob won't give him something most days anyway and im certainly not motivated to start making baby food hahaha!!
Hope everyones having a good wkend!
-
Omg I just discovered w has 2 bottom teeth coming thru! No wonder he's been cranky poor lil guy!!
-
Hi girls
On the I touch again as my laptop still being fixed so this may be a quick post
Will get computer back in melbourne so I will be back to my prolific self!
Ginger yay for ttc! Though when is this move planned for? You better not jump ship just when I get to mwlb!
Clare - I like northcote!! Will be there for coffee and cake! But I think we will def live around malvern as it is also near family etc
Arte - sleep is not something I am loving at the moment! Noah is pretty good - Jacob not so much! He is a good self settler but has lots of night feeds - prob more than he needs but it seems to be only way to settle him. I think I get up to him v quickly too - before be is crying. How is it in your house?
Noni - wow can't believe he is teething! I think we will try solids when I get back from mwlb this week! Glad you sorted out the $$ - stressful!
Well I am still on a weightloss mission but tried stuff on for work meetings and I am fitting into lots of stuff I didn't expect - good motivation!
Anyone heard from jaz?
MM - I love robbie! DH took me to his concert in Budapest as a surprise for my 30th! Love love him!
-
Noni I cant believe W has teeth already, they grow up to quickly.
MP wtg on the weight loss. I need to get off my butt and start exercising.
MD how did DD1 go with her bedroom? Any wild animals?
MM L is still having a day sleep... thank goodness.
So over the heat, I dont mind to much during the day but hate it at night. I wish we had daylight savings, L has been getting up at 5-5.30am everyday. Its horrible if Z has had a feed at 4am.
-
Hi girls!
so true! 2 days ago i was wondering...hmmm havent heard from Jaz lately!
MP: yeah i would totally be wanting to live near (ish lol) family. you'll just have to come this way and we can scamper off and watch movies at the westgarth theatre and eat lemon baked cheesecake
MM: yip. Leila has started to ignore her tiredness and power on through the day sans sleep. drives me bonkers for the 2 hours that she is normally asleep as she is really really rotten wiht her mood.
oppps gotta go, we are doing a daytrip today. not sure where, but hey!
love to you and yours!
-
hi girls
after thinking that L was dropping his day sleep, he's started having it again every day. he really can't do without it.
MP- well done on the weight loss. as you can probably tell, i've fallen off the wagon a bit! not putting any on, but not losing any either. i've decided that instead of dieting, i'm going to increase my exercise and see if that makes me feel a little better. i just love my food too much! and over the holidays my SIL and i just loved sitting my the river at night with a glass of wine or 2! so lovely.
we won't be moving for a while yet, need to do a lot of work on this house before it goes on the market, which is very hard to do with 2 small children. planning to sell in march 2011. everyone please cross their fingers there are no bushfires over the next couple of fire seasons!!!
md- i know, i agree that melb is much better than sydney (sorry sydney-siders). i love melb and would stay here forever if i could,....but....there is a whole heap of reasons why sydney is starting to appeal. we are still very much in discussions about the whole thing. i honestly don't think we make a 100% definite decision until the end of next year. lots to think about..and no doubt i'll be coming on here all the time asking for all your opinions all the time!!!!
clare-enjoy your day trip. you should come out to the dandenongs one day, it's soooo pretty you won't want to leave.
oz- have you tried putting L to bed later? i put L to bed at 9.30pm now most nights so that i can get a sleep-in.
so what are people getting the kids for xmas this year? i haven't done any xmas shopping yet! looks like my kids will be getting ange's play-gym for their xmas present LOL
