Hi guys!
Arte: ah yeah, i forgot that shopping trips for you are a large scale drive...i always think it's just sherie's domain lol. hopefully it will go well enough and you wont be too exhausted by the time you get there!
that's very cool news about your dog and cats experiences! we are hoping for something similar.
MD: yeah, i'm with sherie on this one. you just gotta find a zen zone and shrug your shoulders and walk away. no need to fight the fire itms. in real outta of control moments i just put her in her room telling her that she needs to calm down and maybe have a rest. i put her in her bed and lie her down and walk out (closing the door!). she can get up and whatever, but at least i have offered her a chance to take a chill pill...
Sherie: maybe it is the special sleep drool smell that he loves lol?!
Junglemum: hope that you guys are good and having a smooth transition to PNG...when are you going again?? must be soon...
Hi to everyone else that i have missed...hope you are all fine and dandy!
AFM: we had a lovely day today. went to the farmers markets at the childrens farm. it's all certified organic and free-range stuff, so went nuts. the most beautiful crunchy apples, the most perfumed tomatoes this side of the meditteranean, some fat mushrooms and juicy oranges. not to mention all the lovely sweets and the like.
-
oh i forgot to update on the animals! stella appears to be mending!! so am hoping that she just mega-sprained herself rather than torn the ligament as was suspected...
ciccio the kat appears to be recovering, albeit slowly. he is still not out of the woods by any stretch of the imagination. i cannot believe how stoked i am about seeing him pee lol. he also ate half of his dinner tonight...now for the best bit, have to wait for a poo!
-
Clare thats great news on your pets. Hope they only improve from here on in. :)
MD - Ohhh MD dont worry you arent alone with the horrible trantrums and mind changing ways that these beautiful little toddlers use! How long has E been in this mood for?
Arte - Come on Arte shopping for a girl is the best!! lol I love my shopping, especially when it comes to clothes for M. Cant wait till we go o/seas I am hanging for a shopping session in KL for Miss M!!
Girls I am so proud of my girl. Today we have had 3 wees and two poo's in the toilet. She stops, tells me what she needs, and runs off & gets onto the toilet (using the toilet step & seat I picked up from toys r us). Its so gorgeous because she is also so darn proud of herself, we praise her to the max and she always gets a few smarties. Tomorrow I am going to try to use knickers all day long, as when I have her in a nappy she uses it, whereas in knickers/nakie she always thinks and runs to the toilet iykwim. Better chuck a tea towel in my handbag just in case though lol
-
Well done Maddie! H, one thing I strongly suggest you do when you are out for the day in knickers is always ask her if she needs to go, or even just take her and sit her on the loo - 9 times out of 10 they will do a wee and I can guarantee that they will always need to go NOW! when you are miles away from the nearest toilet or are in a checkout queue LOL. They often get too distracted when out shopping to realise that they need to go kwim?
Clare that is such good news that they are on the mend! And I had to LOL at the sleep drool comment because it DOES smell like that LOL which is why they need washing. he slobbers like a Saint Bernard dog in his sleep. I wish we had farmers markets like that around here.
Arte, how did the shopping trip go?
-
MM: oh wow! that is totally awesome on the TT front!! i am green with envy. argh, leila just loves watching herself wee on the floor too much lol!
Sherie: yeah, the markets are nice, but the prices are restricting. definitely good that they are only once a month IYKWIM.
hope everyone is having a lovely day and maybe getting special valentines attention...me, i have been dumped for soccer LOL! so went to the neighbours and they fed me on pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. so not all bad lol.
-
Not much Valentine's action happening here, but then we've never been really into it!
I'm busy sorting everything out as I am heading up to a week long training course in Sydney tomorrow. Granny and Pa are coming down to help DH out and give K a few days off from kindy as well which will be nice. Me - I'm heading to the shops, going to a movie and generally going to try and enjoy some evenings to myself! Oh yeah, and maybe learn a little bit ouf sewage treatment - does that sound like an interesting topic for a week long course???
MM - well done on the toilet training, still no sign of any interest here.
Cass - so glad the furbabies are on the up!
Arte - good luck with the shopping trip.
Yesterday we had a 3 hour nap - so good!
-
Just got a little woohoo here - Miss K was doing her usual post shower nudie run when she came up to me and said 'wees'. I expected to see a puddle on the floor, but then she went running off to her potty and did one there - she did a few more nudie runs and kept saying 'more wees' and going to sit on the potty. After about 3 times, she did a poo.
So big success here tonight - and one less box of smarties in the pantry!! So proud of her, totally off her own bat!
-
Hey chicks, kinda dropped of the September radar. sorry. Was finding it a bit tough to keep up.
Seems like toilet training full speed ahead around here! Lu is not up for it just yet. She is going very well, a little jabber jaws who is a bit too cheeky for her own good! ;)
Thanks for thinking of me Claire. :) We go officially in the first week of March, although DH going this week again. I have bridesmaid duties on the 28th of Feb and 6th of March and will go after that. It's been a long time coming! Starting to feel like it was never going to happen.
Anyone here got any blogging tips? was thinking of starting one for the jungle family. ;)
-
Hi Everyone -
First of all Junglemum did I miss your birthday yesterday? Happy belated birthday!! Hope you had a lovely day. Wow the departure looms...re blogging, I've mucked around with google blogger and it's pretty easy to use. I would start there.
Thanks everyone for your reassurance on the tantrum front. I felt better after I had a HUUUUGE nap on Fri afternoon - I think the tiredness factor meant I didn't cope as well as usual. Anyway the little darling went for a sleepover on Sat night so DH and I got some grown up "hot date" time - including a sleep in this morning, so feel ready to face another week of toddler ups & downs.
Arte - did you get your shopping done? Big size 0 girl (ROFL those eeny clothes look so tiny these days). :)
Cass, good to hear the furries are recuperating - amazing what difference a few days make (speaking as a recently chopped person LOL). That market sounds great, the FDC lady just told me of one near here that used to be a giant trash & treasure but has turned into much more of a fresh produce one since I last attended 6 years ago - looking forward to checking it out. *SNAP* we had pancakes & bacon & maple syrup this am (whoops for my diet) plus I fried some bananas with cinnamon too. YUM
MM the crazy tantrums really has been the last 10 days or so...apparently she's started telling the FDC lady "NO!" too which she never did before. Fun for all players. Woohoo for M's fantastic toilet going!!
Cally enjoy your time in Sydeneeeee!!!! :) Woohoo for the potty action, Miss K.
Trill sorry I had to laugh at you bracing yourself for the washing of the pillowslip. It's funny the things they get attached to, isn't it? I remember being very attached to a pillowcase as a child - that was back in the day when kids had normal sheets with stripes & flowers instead of pictures - and this one pillowslip had circus animals on it. I loved that thing and had it on my bed for years until the seams went and eventually it disappeared...LOL.
DH gave me a small but very lovely offering from Haighs for VDay today and it sort of freaked me out to remember that this time last year he was visiting me in hospy with a very BIG box of chocs cos I'd just had my gallbladder out - blissfully unawares of the year to follow. Coming up to my cancerversary soon.
-
Oh No Ange! I forgot your birthday! Happy Birthday for yesterday hun  I hope you had a great day. You will feel all bridesmaided out by then I reckon LOL. I have mine with Blogger and it is really easy to use.
MD  but look how far you've come this past year though so the only way to go now is up  I'm glad you got a decent nana nap and a sleep in so you can face the week ahead, but knowing toddlers she is just as likely to be 'normal' again this week LOL
Cally, that would have been cute to see her rushing back and forth. I guess she could tell it was coming LOL. And you will have to tell us what you can possibly talk about poo that it would take a week to get it all done  have a great time though!
Last night A started doing the funniest thing. Lindsay taught him how to 'arm fart' - you know when they put their hand on their armpit and flap their arm getting a fart sound - and anyway he's come out doing his arm farts and blowing raspberries and generally being a cheeky little bugger and it was hilarious!
First day of lectures starts today too! No doubt my excitement will have waned come June ROFL
-
Trill - first day of lectures = MAXIMUM EXCITEMENT!! :cheer: Enjoy!
-
hi girls!
JungleM: wow, you are a popular girl with all that bridesmaid action. have to say that i quite like being bridesmaid...get to dress up and not have the stress of running the wedding hoping everyone is having fun etc. should of just been a bridesmaid at my own wedding lol.
sherie: woot woo! gotta tell us what the lectures are like! and what they are!
MD:  glad you got a nana nap in there. i soo need one too after yesterday's day of tantrum. although overall we had a good day together, it was hard work and TIRING just dealing with the petulance IYKWIM. everything had to be pushed to the limit...:shakehead:
Cally: oh wow! these kids are doing so well...now to just remind leila that toilet is for wees and poos and not the floorboards...
have a GREAT week in sydney! i am jealous!!!
hi to everyone else! hope you all had a lovely weekend!
-
Clare, how are the furbabies doing?
Trill, what is it with boys and farts? I was trying to get the last of the shampoo out the other day and W had a huge grin and told me the bottle was doing farts lol Funny about the pillowcase fetish, toddlers are peculier things aren't they!
MD, I bypassed the size 0 and went straight for 1's! The 0's fit perfectly but don't have much grow in them, while the 1's are just a bit baggy but will last longer.
Cally, Woohoo at the TT! Hope you are off enjoying your poo conference.
MM, also yay for the TT! Sounds like it is going well
The shopping was a success, A slept both ways and was happy to be in the sling all day. I managed to get a good amount of clothes for them both. W was super impressed with a pair of jeans but they are too big and were slipping down all the time.
W seems to be coming along well with the self dressing - after a big wobbly about pants vs shorts, he will decide on one and then half an hour later he disappears into his room and comes out with the other on anyway lol. Today he came out of his room with socks on too. I have been letting him pick what he wears (to save a tantrum) and he can go in and get a tee-shirt, jersey and pants/shorts out of the drawers by himself. He always picks the worst combos though - too big tee-shirt, too small jersey, shorts and socks - he looks like a hobo lmao.
-
hi girls, i'm back from holiday. was ok, but like i've always said- holidaying with 2 small kids is not really holidaying at all.
the out-laws were there staying at a hotel down the road from us, and let's just say we are now officially not speaking to them again. she's really upset me again. just when i started to let her back in a little......
-
GINGEY  You're back!!! :D Pooh bum to MIL. What is wrong with her that she can't see the good thing right in front of her face (you and your lil family)??!
LOL at W dressing himself like a hobo. In our house E looks like a hobo when DH dresses her LMAO so I'd like to say W is doing very well indeed at the tender age of 2!
Well I needed another nap today after another huge tantie morning from Missy E. Ugh. She seems to save it *all* up for me. Even yesterday afternoon, we got home, DH was here, the second he went out the door to pick H up, she started. They arrived home to the deafening noise of her bellowing, crying and thrashing around. I wish I could even identify what it is that is setting her off but I"m afraid to say I think she's just doing it for the sake of doing it. :wall: Where has my peaceful life gone?? I remember H was an early and frequent tantrumer BUT I also remember being very clear about what it was that was setting her off...makes it a bit easier to deal. Is anyone else as strung out as me?
-
Hi girls!
G: WELCOME BACK!!!:dance: sorry that the MIL is doing her usual suspects thang...bet that wasnt pleasant...so maybe you should add: a holiday with two small children and an even smaller MIL aint all it's cracked up to be lol!
MD: i've been thinking (i know i know) and i have come to conclusion that this is all a seasonal transitory thing. i was with the neighbour today and her son (who is just gone 3) got a smack for the first time yesterday because basically for the last 1.5 weeks he has been going BONKERS. she said the smack came after he just took off over the road and kept running (meanwhile she had a sick dog in one hand and her 9 month old in the other...). the kids are going crazy in the coconut. Leila has also been really full on and not like herself. gorgeous and all that, but man oh man, the tantrums fall like leaves in autumn and the whingeing....gosh give me a lawnmower at 6.30am anyday LOL!
Arte: WTG on the successful shopping trip!! always a good thing! was it just you and A?
Sherie: how did the lectures go?
AfM: all good here. just had MG and basically took it fairly easily. scary stuff though is that i now officially have a pg belly LOL! i guess those ol' stomach muscles just arent what they used to be....:shakehead:
ALSO, seems i *may* have found a good midwife for the HB!!! YAY!
-
clare- yah on finding a great mw. have you had her around for a cup of tea and a chat? so the hb is still definitely going ahead then?
i love the comment about 2 small kids and smaller mil- might have to make that my fb status! LOL
i bet your belly looks great. my belly with jimmy was soooo huge so quickly.
md- i really don't know what's wrong with mil, i always think back to your comments about her having a borderline personality disorder and i'm convinced you're right.
L's been chucking a few wobblies lately too. he tends to have silent tanties though where he just lies on the floor and stares like a man possessed!
so when exactly is your cancerversary?
well ladies every cloud has a silver lining....and my stupid cow mil has dug her own grave. i can proudly announce that the move to sydney is definitely off and i for one could not be more thrilled. dh has decided he cannot ever live in the same state as her so looks like we will be staying exactly where we are and eventually making some changes and doing some work on this house to make it more suitable. i am stoked!
-
Hey Hot Mumma's,
Sorry for not being around.
Ginger- I am so happy for you that you dont have to move..
All is good here I have finally started exercising as I have 2 weddings next year and
want to look nice.... Kids are all good ATM and re the tantaums Livi has been chucking some wobblies lol.
Hello to everyone
-
Ginger, Yay for your MIL showing her true colours again and getting to stay in Melbourne. What did she do this time?
Leanne, good luck with the weight loss. It is unfair how easy it is to put it on and how hard it is to get it off.
Clare, yay for your little baby belly. Mine showed early second time round too - the old abs just aren't what they used to be.
MD, the bellowing really gives me the poops. I can handle plain crying, but the special bellow he has just to p!ss us off really works lol. I am with Clare on the seasonal thing, if I don't believe there is a reason then I have to admit he is just feral!
A little kitten came to visit today, it was the friendliest cat I have ever seen, totally ignored the dogs attempts to scare it away and didn't notice the cat with her death growl - it was a pure white one and deaf. I knew where it came from so when DH got home I took it back but was tempted to keep him. W kept picking it up and throwing it (Grrrr), and it was coming back for more!
I am off to the Dr on friday about my lack of energy, insomnia, and in general feeling cr@p. I am quite nervous about it though, I have never been to the doctor apart from birth control/babies and once when I was sick with a virus and my boss threatened to take me herself if I didn't go. I am worried that I will just sound like a whinger. Or that there will actually be something wrong. I have already made appointments and canceled a couple of times but it is so bad now that I have to stop and sit when I am holding A for too long because I feel like I might drop her.
-
Cass, I have been giving some thought to your seasonal transitory theory and hmmm well lets just say I'm hoping so (esp the transitory part LOL). Also realising I need to build more sleep into my schedule (me, not her) now that we're not getting school hol sleep-ins every day...helps with my self-confidence level even if the tanties are still coming thick and fast. Woohooo for your officially pg belly and even bigger WOOOO for finding (maybe) a good MW!!!
Leanne - good to see you lady! The exercising sounds great, I know you will feel better for it. Does Livi give the boys a run for their money on the tanties (I did wonder how you handled it when they both went off at the same time? LOL).
Ginger, what a silver lining it is. Your relief is tangible. Though so sad it's not something that can be fixed, kwim? That's a very borderline personality disorder kind of way of things. Gosh I could go a silent tantie, Missy E is loud loud LOUD! "Good set of lungs on her" I remember saying when she was one day old, how right I was LOL. BTW cancerversary next friday. That'll get me all nostalgic.
Arte, you are doing the right thing by going to the dr . If you start by describing how out of sorts you are feeling any good GP will pay attention and do some thorough screening. A good dr will take what you say seriously, and if they don't you know you need to find a different dr. Make sure you are up to date with pap smears & breast checks and everything while you're at it. :)
-
:cheer: yay Ginger! I love the silent tantrum, do you think he could teach Lu????
Arte- Hope you get some answers at the drs, being that tired must be really difficult. MD is exactly right, if they don't take you seriously then go to another. I find that's the problem with moving a lot, the drs don't know you very well so often i feel like a whinger when i go. But if you know there is something not right it is important to persist.
Trill- i'll check out blogger. Thanks. :D Oh and i had a good chuckle at your PNG via SA. :p That was a trip from hell. Remind me not to drive for 9 hours with 2 kids for 4 days, all staying in one room?! :o
Off for a play date with a hot chick from Gilligans island. ;)
-
-
ROFL Ange, I will be sure to remind you of that in the future LOL. I remember how hellish is was for us to go to Forster when Erin was only 5.5mths old and she screamed nearly the entire trip so I feel for you hun.
MD, how is H doing at school now? I hope she feels better about things. And how is everything going for you physically? It's all still healing nicely?
Clare, that is great news about the MW. LOL at your baby belly already. I got a belly quicker the 2nd time too. Lecture was good. We didn't have a podcast for this one as the techies are flat out apparently, but we had a powerpoint thing so it's all good so far.
G, I'm not surprised that she's gone and done it again. I just had a feeling that old leopard couldn't change her spots. But I'm glad that its made J see the light about it too and realise what she's like to the point where he wont move now. Was she like this with any other women he was with or just you because you've clearly got him for keeps?
Arte, if you cancel this Dr's appointment again I will be cross ;) You really sound like things are not OK and you defnitely need to get some tests done to make sure that there is no underlying cause of it  Woohoo on the successful shopping trip too!
Leanne, I noticed you've been doing really well with the walking which is wonderful! I wish I could find my motivation again because it's gone AWOL LOL
H, how is your Uni going so far? :)
Well we've had an interesting few days. My boy who used to LOVE being outside now wont go outside unless I'm out there and if I can convince him to go he is back inside in 10 minutes. He's fine when the other kids are home, but I think he's getting bored? Doesn't help that he is currently dead keen on Bob the Builder and wants to watch it ALL THE TIME!!!!! Little bugger has worked out how to use the DVD player too so if I'm not right there when it finishes he presses play again! And if I turn it off after it's finished he tantrums and sooks because he wants it back on again so I have to tell him that Bob needs to have a sleep ;) he even sings the song ROFL and sings it in bed at night which is hilarious, but drives L mental. We have playgroup starting tomorrow though so I'm hoping that it will help.
-
Hey Girls,
MD- well they havent really all had tanties at the same time. The boys dont really chuck them (thank goodness) Liv is so funny though she chucks herself down on the floor and puts her hands ver her eyes and screams.......lol I just laugh and send her to her room and tell her to come out when she gets over it.... She has only ever chucked it once out in public and that was in LA.
Art- Thanks and good luck at the DR's today
Sherie- Oh gosh I had to do something this weight is getting out of control.
JM- have a great play date.
-
hi girls!
Leanne: wow, i am impressed with your stamina on the excersise front. i can't get over how i let myself get so lazy...i used to be one of those pocket rocket kids that couldnt get enough outdoorsy type action. now just point me in the direction of the couch and i am there! what excersise do you do?? inspire me!!!
Sherie: ah glad that the lecture went well! nothing too intimidating i hope! i always found the first one to be one of excitement and fear lol.
Leila is the same with the TV. we have really had to reel it back in (it was a good backup when i was in the midst of circling the toilet bowl). but i have noticed that it is not great AT ALL for her creative play. she is reluctant to go outside if she knows that she might be in wiht a chance on the box.
MD: i am  like mad that it is transitory lol! but i spoke to yet another mumma (with an 18 month old) and they have had the EXACT type of crazy fortnight. so there's gotta be something. i am with you on the more sleep front too. i find that if i go to bed of a night earlier, then i can just function on a whole new level ITMS. but it is hard to go to bed before 10pm as that is 'me' time IYKWIM. arrgh! so hard to find that balance.
JM: man, we only have one kid and yet i am so bad...i ALWAYS book a family motel room LOL! i just love being in my room after a long car drive with a smelly cranky toddler lol.
i am envious of your new adventure. DH and I are so nostalgic for Fiji. we miss the place the terribly. not that it was all roses, but it was real ITMS. you lived life because there was no sheltering from it. fresh fruit and vegies, explorations on the beach for all kinds of sea life, ahhhh!!
Arte: make sure you go to the GP babe. to me sounds like an iron def. pretty common and can be treated fairly straightfoward...although it takes a good while for it to bounce back.
G: our first appt with the MW is at her home. at first i was a bit worried about it being on her turf but on reflection i think it would be nice to see her in her element with her things and her children and see if there is some symbiosity iykwim. and yep, the HB is definitely still on! re-watched the BOBB and has re-confirmed that desire for intimacy.
so stoked that you dont have to up roots and go to sydney. from your FB pics it looks like a lovely home with so many memories that it would of been sad to leave it (and the community by the sounds of it!).
AFM: all good here. leila is at kindy today and while driving her there she told me all the things she is going to play with and which kids she is going to play with too LOL!
-
hi girls, had a lovely play date this morning with JM. we visited a friend who had a dog and convinced me we need to start thinking about getting the boys a little friend, i'm so bad!!!!
clare - i have no idea what symbiosity means LOL but i think going to her house seems like a great idea. tbh i could never have a hb, but i totally get why you want one. i think it's awesome. so are you going to find out the bub's sex? i'm definitely getting a very strong blue vibe.
md- what are you going to do for cancervarsary? maybe a nice dinner?
i'm stoked mil has sealed the deal for us, she is such a psycho. thanks for all your support.
leanne- best of luck with your exercising. i'm so on and off about it. some weeks i'm really good and then other weeks i do nothing. it feels great when you're exercisimg though, i sleep much better.
trill- J has never really had a 'real' gf before me iykwim? i mean he obviousley saw a few people but was never really serious or long lasting, apparantely she's been a biatch to every single girl he ever brought home though.
sometimes we have to un-plug the dvd player and say it's broken around here, hopefully play group makes a difference for you.
arte- have you got af back yet, i was feeling like a wreck in the lead-up to first af. it really took it out of me.
girls jimmy is driving me crazy atm. idk if it's seperation anxiety or what but he just will not leave me alone and is all over me all the time. does anyone remember going through this around this age? i literally feel like i have to hide from him to get some peace. he is always clinging onto my lrg. i couldn't cook dinner last night without holding him. he won't go into the pram at all and just arches his back and tenses up if i try to put him down.
-
Ginger - When you were talking about moving to NSW I wondered how it would all work out with the MIL, but I know the feeling because in the back of your mind you think well maybe it will be different this time, maybe we need to give this another chance. At least now you know she is a cow and will always be this way. I think you are wise in keeping your distance and its good that your DH supports you in this and see's through his mum, as dissapointing as that must be for him.
Clare - You are so lucky to have neighbours with young kids, even if they do run a muck together lol. I am excited to hear more about your HB plans.
Trill - We have the same problem with the dvd player, all day I hear 'Dora?' 'Hi 5?' NOOO Missy go do something else lol. How did your lectures go? I am so excited that you are doing uni, now we can whinge to each other about essays lol. I start back at uni next week, I am organising my desk shortly, bought my books yesterday, two books cost me $190
MD - I have forgotten, where are you at with uni? Deferred right? My memory is bad....
Arte - Oh gosh get yourself checked out, I am thinking the same as Clare with the iron deficiency. It will be good to get a blood test and know for sure. Its horrible when you just dont feel right. After my ectopic my liver function wasnt at 100% and I felt soooo sluggish, but back on track now.
I am having a bad day. Another month has passed, we dtd like crazy, maybe we obsessed a bit too much. Anyway no AF yet but she's coming, and I have had no pregnancy symptoms at all. I know this sounds ridiculous but I feel like giving up and going back on the pill so I dont have this anxiety about whether I am pregnant each month.
-
MM, I hope it happens for you soon xx
Trill, I have sympathy for the pillowcase situation - W is overly attached to his pajamas and they are so old that they are literally falling apart while his nice new ones are sitting in the drawer unused....
Yesterday was the worst day ever. W woke up all cheery and fine, then after about an hour I suggested he get dressed - 1.5 hours of yelling tantrum later and I insisted he have a nap for my sanity. He was a bit of a toad the rest of the day but then bedtime rolled around. Far out! From 8.30pm until 11pm(!!) he screamed and bellowed and was a general little *****! 2.5 hours of it! DH and I took shifts. What a disaster. I knew it would be bad if I let him nap but I couldn't make it though the day with a constant tantrum.
So today I got some Bach's Rescue Sleep, will see if that helps. He only took 10 minutes to get to sleep tonight, but he was buggered from being up so late last night anyway.
-
Arte: :o
MM:  the constant thinking and preparation when TTC is bloomin' hard, on all fronts. there are worse months than others too i reckon. some months i was like 'oh well, another chance in a couple of weeks', and other times i just gave up and cried. i  that BFP is not far off xx
G: i do remember leila like that at that age...especially with the pram back thing...i think it's all the newfound mobility and them finally being able to be where they want to be...which apparently is around your feet lol.
-
Hey Hot Mumma's
Clare- I am walking for about 1/2hr at night. I have never liked walking before in my life but suddenly I enjoy it maybe its just getting out of the house for 1/2hr. My weight has exploded since havin Livi and I have to do something.
Art- Hugs coming your way sweetie
Ginger- my boys were like that too at Jimmy's age.
MM- Hugs coming out to you too.. I am sending you PG Vibes.
Well Livi woke up last night at midnight wanting me to hop in her bed with her she is cutting her top molar and needed some mummy hugs I guess. Other than that all is good I think its going to rain a little bit here today which I do love the rain somedayz. Better go and get the breakfast's happening.....
have a great day all
-
Hi everyone - had a wonderful time in Sydney. Learnt lots about 'poo treatment', yet we really only scratched the surface. Was expecting a lot of old men like on most engineering things but there were plenty of girls and they weren't all old either.
I went and saw 'Its Complicated' and have not laughed that much in a long time, it was great. I got heaps of shopping in too, but the best bit was the big 'Mummy' that K yelled out when I got off the plane - such big hugs!! I was so excited, I was about to hop into the car to head home and I remembered I hadn't collected my bag - Whoops!!
MM - name change? Fingers crossed it all happens soon. Are you going to explore those alternative therapies?
MP - how are you settling in to Melbourne?
Leemar - well done on the walking, it does make a big difference doesn't it, to be out and about by yourself.
Arte - how did the doctor's go?
Ginger - glad that you know where you stand with MIL now and that the whole moving to Sydney thing is sorted.
Trill - good luck with all the uni stuff.
JM - 2 bridesmaids that close together, golly gosh! Good luck with the move
MD - wow, a year since the gallbladder. I went to the Haighs shop last week, $70 later.....
We hit 38 today - sucked all the lovely rain we've had over the last few weeks out of all the plants, poor things

i think i have miscommunicated my popularity! Hens weekend this weekend and the wedding is the following one. :p
Glad the poo-conference went well Cally- i'd love to go see a movie. Nothing like a side splitting comedy. :D
Lu is such a crack up at the moment. She constantly has me laughing at her funny sayings and behaviour. Having said that, she is a bit of a handful at times. Very determined and strongwilled. Must get that from her father. :p She has started to talk about monsters. I'm not really sure where it came from but she tells me there are monsters in places like the tap. And we walked past a house today that was apparently 'a scary house' ?! a troublesome neighbour, so maybe she was onto something! ) I guess some of the books i read have monsters in them, like Room On A Broom, and The Gruffalo. Anyone else got monsters appearing?
-
Junglemum - no monsters here, although she constantly chats on about lots of other bizarre entirely-imaginary things. She has hilariously gone thru a stage of talking about boobies constantly at day care, got the other kiddies talking boobies too ...I have to remind her about my 'sore boobie' every so often so I don't get kicked/hit/headbutted/hugged too hard on that side.
Speaking of which, Trill thanks for asking, healing well - no more leaky sutures, don't have to go back to surgeon for 3 mths. It still moves about on its moorings when I roll over at night and is randomly ouchy at other times, but apparently quite common to have post-mast pain that never goes away (nerve damage I guess) so I have low expectations there. Still very tired - was completely wiped out yesterday after a latish night on Saturday - barely able to function - so really just going to concentrate on the basics - nutrition, sleep, exercise, and build my life up again in baby steps from there.
Not studying this semester, "Isadora" - will pick up a subject in Semester 2. How's it going with you? Still fired up about it? ($190 = ouch. Keep em pristine and sell em on next year ;)). BTW "welcome to our thread"
Trill thanks for asking about H. She still thinks the teacher is "telling her off" every time she says something to her but I'm working on reframing that and hopefully she will learn it's not an exercise in personal humiliation or wrongness, kwim. We had a breakthru though since the teacher is drilling them on times tables, she can finally say the whole 2X tables by rote and shout out answers spontaneously (HALLELUJAH!!) I've promised to buy her a DVD/CD for every table she learns and I'm paying out on the easy 2X because she'll learn the others then. :D Did playgroup help with keeping A entertained?
Leanne all I can say is you are *very* lucky they didn't all have tanties at the same time LOL! Woohoo the walking sounds great. Maybe I need to get out of the house by myself too - instead I drag the whole family along so we prolly dont' go as often as I could. f
Cass I think you miss Fiji the same way I miss Darwin..."you lived life because there was no sheltering from it. " Uh huh. BTW I know what you mean about having to rein in the box-watching, we overdid it a bit over the hols (plus the mummy not being completely well factor) and it really kills the creative play. I banned DD1 from weekend morning TV at one stage because if she watched it she would be "bored" all day long.
Arte - gosh that sounds like a horrible day! Has he been better since? And did you go to the Dr?
G - I remember clingy moments but not to an extreme, can you pop him into a sling? Missy E's going thru a mum-clingy phase (coinciding with pushing the boundary with tantrums) but I have the all-singing all-dancing sister-distraction specialist here (DD1) so not much advice...except to trot out the slow-cooker when you can rather than leaving dinner til late afternoon?
Cally - glad you had such a good time at the sewerage conference - haha did you see Kenny there? I bet those welcome-home hugs were just the BEST! LOL at your Haigh's spend - yep that's why they're still such a treat even tho I live here. I want to see "It's complicated" - looks good.
-
Yep new name, its very original - not, Dora (as in Dora the bl00dy explorer) and Isa (Dora's iguana friend). Yes you can tell I have been Dora brainwashed.
MD - Fair enough on having a break from study. Yes I am feeling fired up about uni this semester, I saw my essay topic for my child rearing unit the other day which excited me, weird I know. I can write on either smacking vs non smacking, controlled crying vs comfort & attachment theory (done a similar one before & loved the topic) and affect of the early yrs on teenage delinquency - I want to write them all lol!!! But I am swaying towards the teenage one as I have also written a similar essay and have plenty of current references.
Thanks girls I have been so down for a few months now. Its not like me, I am usually a happy person but I have been so frustratingly consumed by it all. I try to tell myself dont worry yet, but I still do. Sorry for being such a downer all the time!!!
What do you wear for a family portrait? I wanted to wear a white maxi dress (but cant find one). DH & M are easy to dress. People are telling me jeans and a white shirt, which is all good for DH but I dont feel overly comfortable in jeans, I prefer a dress. Anyone able to suggest a good website to buy dresses from?
-
There I was thinking it was some exotic Isadora Duncan reference  Ah well you'll look back and laugh I suppose. Sorry can't help with the maxi dress - maybe you can find something perfect at the op shop?
PS don't apologise for feeling the way you do. I think we all have times that we go through that are difficult or challenging & I think it's part of the value our little thread family that we can "let it all hang out:.
-
hi girls!
Cally: oh wow, sounds like you had a blast at the conference! how did DH and K go on their ownsome?
Isadora: ha ha! well, i never knew the dora reference and still loved the new name!! hmm as for white maxi dresses...i would check out sportsgirl or tree of life kinda stores...otherwise...maybe also check out metallicus online...although they dont do maxi dresses they do really lovely simple lines...also good for pg mamas
JungleM: hmm no monsters here either. but we dont have any monster books...oh hang on i lie: we do have 'mess monsters in the garden' but it doesnt float leila's boat at all.
p.s. I LOVE the new des res! looks splendid! hopefully the mozzies will allow you guys to play in that magnificent yard! how gorgeous! and all those tropical flowers!!!!!!
Leanne: ah i need to do that too. i have found that since moving over a suburb i am doing a lot less walking. Mostly cause the shopping strip here is too high end and i sooo cannot afford to go 'walking' LOL! at least in ol' dodgy brunswick where i used to live every second store was a two dollar shop interspersed with op shops LOL!
AFM: had a lovely day today at MG. was a bit norti though and succumbed to my smoked salmon cravings...gosh it was good...
Leila had a blast and played and played and is now tuckered out in her bed. ATM we have extensions going on next door and because we are semi-detached they are literally in our yard :o. have to tie the dog up which i dont like doing and it's weird to see tradies wandering around when they are not wandering around fixing my stuff LOL! and we have months and months of this. so not happy jan...that said we did get the builder to come in and do a speccy on the dodgy stuff in our house and got him to run up some quotes on extensions LOL!
p.s i also saw the movie 'the road' yesterday with DH (took a day off...it was tough lol). oh my gosh! so powerful. it's based on the book of the same title by cormack mcCarthy. just powerful powerful stuff. can be really mega confronting though (post apocalyptic cannibalism type thingy with no happy ending). but amazing all the same. one of those movies where the whole audience is just in it together IYKWIM. powerful. but i dont recommend it if you are feeling 'fragile'.

Just popping on to quickly say hi.
I am loving how funny our kids are at this age. L has me in stitches most days, though I am sick of the sound of my own voice and the phrases "L please stop", "L dont", "what did I just say" lol.
MD lol at E talking boobies. L has told a few people where Z's milk comes from.
Isadora, wooo loving the new name. Have you thought about a long white gypsy skirt? I would try tree of life if you have them for skirt or dress.
Cass just make sure your blinds are closed when dressing lol. What type of extensions are you looking at doing?
A big hello to everyone else, little miss is awake (she times it perfectly these days lol).
-
Cass - the wandering tradie thing is a bit of a hassle - bad enough when they are fixing your place, worse when it's not even yours! Gosh "The Road" is one I can't even bring myself to read the book...let alone the movie - though I'm sure it's fantastic for that reason alone. I remember when they were talking about it on the First Tues Book Club.
Oz - yep funny little critters. I hate that too when you hear yourself say the same thing over and over again. Worse still when they start saying too (eg I hear myself being repeated by Missy E who is telling H off - HILARIOUS)

omg lewis had the biggest stack of all time today. got a massive run up on his bike, got air-borne and then smacked head-first into the side of the garage. he seems fine, just a massive bump on the head and a sore wrist. i am soooooo shaken up though and upset. he's a friggen crusty demon of dirt. after the crying stopped he wanted to get straight back on the bike!
massive egg head just in time for the professional photos i have booked in for next week ggggrrrrrr
sorry for selfish post, just completely freaked out! bbl for catch ups xoxoxo

 Ginger, hope that he is ok and those bruises heal quickly
