no need to talk about vaginas around here..............yet
G, yet? Is there a chance of pink at your place?
Exciting developments in the ginger jar???
ha ha, i knew that would get you all going ;( naaaa i'm just stirring.....i meant that the boys probably won't really be interested in vaginas for a few years yet.
LOL G, that's what I thought you meant too. Luckily L has no desire at all to be close to girls yet and is still very much 'bro's before doe's' but I think it will be a different story in another 3 years or so.
LOL Trill, 'Bro's before Doe's' is a nicer version of the saying.
Our grades are a bit different to yours and we use the A, B, C + and - system.
MD, good luck with the Birds and Bees. I am not looking forward to that. I still cringe when I recall the periods talk with mum - after she found a heap of leaflets they gave us at school stashed under my bed (hid them there because I didn't want her to see them in the rubbish, should've ditched them at school!). Come to think of it, she never bothered with the sex one - but I figured it out anyways lol
I am thinking of asking about an extra day at kindy for W. He has taken to it so well and now he seems extra bored on the non-kindy days, even though we usually do another activity anyway. So I might ask if they have a free monday, then he would be doing mon, wed, fri.
hi girls i'm baaaaaaaccckkkk! i know you all totally missed me.
i'm afraid that my daughter is totally already in love with a boy. his name is billy and he was the kid she played with while on holiday. seriously, on the last day she manhandled him and forced him to kiss her lol! in the end he loved it and started chasing her down the beach to drown her in kisses lol. oh gawd i am gunna have my hands full when she is a teenager...
Arte: 3 days at kindy works well for us. although we are going down to 2 next year so that both girls can go and we dont break the bank too much. but as i said, leila loves her 3 days. she did monday, thursday and friday.
G: ahhh you had me lol. soo thought there was going to be some big announcement lol.
Ahhhhhhhh! The good ole holiday romance
Beachside romance...in the dunes??!
Yeah we totally missed you Cass but you were having so much sun sea surf I bet you didn't even think about us once. :p
LOL at The Lesbian Incident Trill. I still remember vividly the day I found out (via my older sister) what virgin and prostitute meant. :o I was horrified that they were talking about SEX in the bible  Jayz I was such an innocent. I remember my sister being sequestered away with my mother for "the talk" - although I'm not sure if the discussion went the way she thought it was going to - because mum never took me aside for a sex talk at all .
I've had age-appropriate books available for DD1 for a while...thinking that if she's curious then she has source material handy there to answer the questions. We've talked more about periods and puberty things than we have about s-e-x. All in good time.
I have never heard bro's before does? What's the other version of the saying, what does it mean?
bros before hoes....like, you should never let a woman come before your mates
Yep, never let a women come before your mates LOL. L is horrified that some of his mates have already had a few girlfriends and is totally baffled that they want to spend their time with girls at lunchtime instead of playing cricket or football
I remember I had my own naive moment when I was 7. Mum was pg with my sister and mum and dad told us kids about it and then I found out that my friend's mum was having a baby too. I didn't think anything of it and went to school and told the exciting news for my class news and my friend piped up and said "NO! You aren't allowed to tell anyone about the baby!" and I was really upset and when I went home that day I told mum about it and asked why wasn't I allowed to tell everyone I was getting a brother or sister and Mum explained to me the concept of 'bastards' and that my friends Mum wasn't married to her Dad who wasn't really her Dad at all but her stepdad and they hadn't gotten married yet but it was all being kept hush-hush until they could get married so people wouldn't call the baby a bastard. I had my mind completely blown that day ROFL.
Oh, and can someone do me a favour? I want to know how many rep points I give out LOL, so I need someone to check how many they have, I will rep you and you can let me know how many I gave you.
I first met my hubby in the sand dunes!!! Lol
I'm loving all these old memories, what a crack up. I didn't get my period until I was 16 so I was well and truly up with it by then. As for the sex talk, my mum was kind of the source of information for all my friends, I distinctly remember at my 15th birthday party ,we were having a bonfire sleep over in a paddock, I came inside to find 5 of my friends sitting around with mum quizzing her about all things sexy! Mum's pretty easy to talk to I guess. We had a sex Ed thing in grade 6 I think?! That seems so young now, but I remember asking mum about it.
Rep me Trill!
Hi girls
A quick hello from me – hope you are all well…
JM –are you in Melbourne yet?
Cass – where were you? You must have had better weather than me this weekend! We went to Philip island – had a wonderful time but the weather was awful! Nevertheless we had fun swimming in the indoor pool, went to a wildlife park (hand fed the wallabies etc), ate lots of fish n chips, went to a chocolate factory, played in the parks when it wasn’t raining, flew the kits etc. it was great to get away – was feeling really at the end of my tether last week (have had a hard few weeks) and a change of scenery was a good pick me up. Still feeling a distinct need for some ‘me time’ but this was great and so good to spend real full on time with the boys – that relaxed holiday feeling when you have no time pressures is fantastic!
Drove home yesterday and the boys were crashed out in the car so we drove on to lygon street and had a yummy Italian lunch – thought of you Cass!
All is ok with me.. as I said I am alittle burnt out but all good. Poor DH has injured his back pretty badly (a disc issue) so he has been pretty much off the radar all week. He is off to a specialist tomorrow so hope we get more of a plan then. At the moment he is on steroids and also REALLY full on pain meds… (man the steroids can make you moody hey)…
Anyway sorry this is short and all about me… wanted to jump on and say hello – really busy at work but will try to come back later too.
xxx
Done JM :) are you expecting the girls to be a bit later getting their first AF? I got mine at 12, Mum was around the same but her sister was only 9 and my sister was around 14 I think, so I have no idea when to expect my girls to get theirs, but I will give them The Talk about 10-11ish I think.
MP that would have been lovely even despite the weather. I'd love to go down there for a holiday too. I hope your DH can get his back sorted. You just can't function when your back is so sore like that.
121 big ones Trill!
Yeah I do. When I finally got mine in year 11 I was beginning to get a little concerned so i asked mum and she got hers at a similar age. I know that's not a proven indicator but I wouldn't be surprised.
Hi Mp. Yup, off to drs today for follow up gets. :)
Holy Moly! Thanks for that JM. I hope the Drs appt goes well. Is this to conclusively prove whether you have typhoid or not or for something else? I wonder if male development can have a baring on when our DD's will get their AF? DH was a late bloomer too and reckons he was around 15ish before he'd developed.
MP, hope you are feeling refreshed and your DH is better soon xx
I am really hoping for late bloomers lol I don't think so though - DH was one of those boys that are 6 foot tall at 13, whiskers and all. I was pretty average, around 12 (although I was 18 before I got tits lol).
Trill, that is funny about the bastard baby - no one would bat an eyelid these days if parents are unmarried. Although I have noticed the old ladies often glance at my ring-less finger when I am out with the children so it must still cross some minds.
Clare, that is cute about L and her little boyfriend (cute when it is someone elses kid anyway lol)
MD, I can't believe you have never heard 'bro's before hoe's!!
hi girls
i was 15 when i got af - late too!!!
we are actually planning a trip down to phillip island right now! where did you stay MP?
jm- msg me i want to know how you are and when we can meet up!
went to chesterfield farm today. kids loved it. lots of baby animals and even kangaroos with joeys in their pouches. so cute!
L loved the tractor ride and accidently let some lambs loose! LOL
