$20k for a TV!!!! I am speechless! And that brand must be way too out of our range because I haven't even heard of it lol
Cally, weren't you a year behind MP?
Started in 95!!! Geees Arte, way to make me feel old :p
20k for a TV????:o I don't think I'd pay that even if I could afford it! That's crazy.
i know ha ha! DH and i were walking down collins st. here in melb and i saw the TV that my friend had and i was like "oh that is a cool tv (well you know as far as tvs go), so DH is like "let's have a look" so we walk in totally naive like and start browsing around. the chick comes up to ask if we need help and DH casually asks how much for the TV, she said they start at $20k, but they also have a floor model that they could do for $15k for us if we bought it that day bahahahahahaha! yeah, as if lol.
Stop whining ya bunch of springies!!!
I graduated in 1988 - and NO I do not use "anti-ageing" creams (they contain estriols :o) NOR do I need to. OK???
Jayz, Cass, I'm not even sure I'll spend that much on our next car?!!
ETA - re the eggs and fudge...DD1 once took a whole container of chocolate covered strawberries to school...thought she'd hit the jackpot when she opened her lunchbox that day
1988, ok you win MD. :p
trill- taking the egg mix to work made me laugh, it sounds like something i would do. totally not thinking
sorry you girls didn't get your oprah tix :(
i think i was class of 94 so i'm an old bag too.
md- what are esdriols? i use anti wrinkle eye cream but now you have me worried
leo is a lunatic and is completely besotted with lewis. follows him everywhere. cutest thing ever.
Ginger, that is cute about Leo and Lewis
I am guessing that Esdriols are some sort of estrogen derivative? MD, are you more careful with BPA products now? It is an estrogen analogue and is in sooo many things it is scary. DH went to a conference about it held by the guy that was in charge of the epidemiology of the mad cow disease in Britian. Aside from the plastic that is in the public eye, it is inside most cans of food (as a plastic liner), fiberglass, make-up... the list goes on. In the last couple of generations the average penis size has been getting smaller and male fertility rates are down - 'they' are attributing it to the over exposure of males to all the BPA - basically they are living in an environment that is showering them in estrogen. Also the the skyrocketing rates of hormone driven cancers. Fly spray also has something really nasty in it but I can't remember what.
LOL MD, your DD must have thought she had the best mum in the world to get chocolate strawberries for lunch!
Yes, it is undisclosed inclusion of estrogens or estrogen-like substances. Which is a bit of a worry if you've had hormone-sensitive cancer or if you're at risk of it.
Arte, I'm trying to reduce exposure across the board, using glass or stainless steel where possible instead of plastic. I don't use a lot of cosmetics or makeup at the best of times, but I'm switching over where possible to low-chemical varieties. I can't help the food can linings (esp for staples like tomatoes etc) but I guess there is value in choosing more fresh produce generally and less processed items, without getting crazy strict where it hampers your lifestyle in other ways. It has to be do-able, kwim?
geez...i read that letter MD :o far out we live in a scary world. us humans just love to shoot ourselves in our feet huh?!
Ginger - you snuck your birthday past us on Sunday!!! Hope you had a gorgeous day, sorry I didn't twig earlier
it was Gs birthday??!!!!
HAPPY OF HAPPIEST BIRTHDAYS BABE!!!!!!! (sorry that i missed it...)
If I paid $20K for a TV it would wanna make me a cuppa and rub my feet too  clearly they have way to much money LOL
MD, that would have been like winning lottery for a kid to find that in their lunchbox LOL.
I think Noni might be younger than Isadora?
lol i got the kitty for my birthday!!! thanks for your wishes guys xoxoox
so md- how do i find out which skincare/make up brands are good? i only use natural stuff like burts bees on the boys and i use organic care shampoo on myself
Grouse morning, found S covered in nail polish chewing on Granny's sleeping pills. I was spewing in the toilet and must have left the door open after I showered. Mum thought she had moved all the pills but obviously missed these ones. When I found her she had tablet residue on her lips and there were a couple of spat out bits on the floor. I had no idea how many were there so off to emerg we went. 5 hours later, without incident, they let us go. I think she chewed on them but spat them out, thank goodness. I had a total flip out inside when I found her. :o
All's well that ends well though right??
Still don't have my test results back, how long does it take to check out someones crap?!
Happy belated birthday again G. Xx
omg jm!!!!! i'm so glad she is ok!!!
what a horrible day for you xoxoox
woah JM! that musta been totally scary!
and yeah...how much foraging can they do on one poo? hopefully not too much longer xx
JM, gee that must have been scary! So you are back in Aus?
Ginger, Happy Birthday - I didn't catch on that the kitten was a present.
I just watched the final ever episode of Outrageous Fortune.
Hey everyone, I have been sitting here for ages trying to catch up and feel like I am getting nowhere lol. I have missed so much.
JM glad S is ok, I can't imagine how scary that was.
G happy belated birthday!!!
Arte I am devastated that there will be no more outrageous fortune :(
A huge big hello and hug to everyone else. I had a good laugh at all the biology teacher stories, we had a drop dead sexy PE teacher. I don't think any of our teachers knocked anyone up but my sisters best friend is marrying one of the PE teachers this weekend.
AFM been in Sydney working this weekend and have a very busy few weeks in the lead up to Christmas. I am looking forward to having a break and chilling out at mums over Chrissy. Speaking of which I just went through all the little things I have been putting away for L for Christmas and I didnt realise I had so much..... Are you all ready for Christmas?
Yep Arte, back for 6 weeks, yay.
I am loving all your pics K, taking some crackers. :)
Is it Christmas soon? :o am open to Chrissy present suggestions from you all...... Not one purchase here yet..
Tests back , all clear, yippee I'm out of isolation! Now just to drag myself off the couch.
OMG how totally scary - I'm so glad S is ok...though I'm sure your blood pressure didn't need that almighty spike! Yay JM for all clear, there will be no stopping you now!
Hi Oz, good to see you :hello: Chillin out at mum's sounds great...except I'd much rather
Not a lot of Chrissy ideas here, Missy E is getting the caravan duplo and hopefully a refurbed wooden dollhouse & dollhouse bits. Or maybe just the duplo LOL. Plus a book or two and maybe a DVD, I'd love to get her one of those old Disney ones like Snow White.
Ginger, I don't really know, I'm trying to be informed but there are too many bl**dy things that you're supposed to avoid. I use the organic care shampoo too, it's brilliant, I have spent ten times the amount for all natural organic shampoo which was crap. I use Aveeno body moisturiser (although it's got mineral oil in that's the only 'bad' thing) and I use some facial stuff called "organic selections" which was cheap as chips but very light, took me a while to get used to it but my skin has been really good - no pimples since. But I will need one with a sunscreen for summer, so need to start reading labels again. Got the crystal deodorant of course, that was the first thing I changed.
hi girls!
Oz: agree with JM...beautiful sessions that you have been doing! we are getting some photos done soon-ish (well as soon as i organise it lol) and they have to match up to your standard lol!
JM: WAHOOOO!!! big relief to come back all clear :leap: now that you are allowed out into the world we must do a melb catch up!
MD: the snow white one we got for Leila for her birthday...is awesome but she soon became terrified of it (i forgot just how scary the whole chasing the evil queen off the cliff actually is lol). so we are going to go with 'cinderella' this time lol.
Christmas...havent thought too much about the actual acquiring. still hoping to get the trampoline, a wooden doll house (although on Ebay they are starting to spike in price as i guess everyone has the same idea) and some Suki brand matchbox cars (Leila is obsessed ATM with cars!). that would be about it really...
Lu is terrified of most kids movies. Doesn't like snow white, anything with an evil witch. cried in Finding Nemo bc Nemo lost his daddy and then the floating away nightmares started! So we stick to Marry Poppins around here, she's a hit!
Ahhhh! So that explains the nightmares then JM. Awesome news that you got the all clear too. OMG at S and the tablets too. You could assume that she would have spat them right out, but gee you don't wanna risk it.
Oz! I am loving your photos! I wish you lived here with me so I could get some done.
Arte, I am going to get the box set of all of them because they never showed it with any consistency and then it would be on at stupid times like midnight so I missed out so much of it. Although I don't mind Go Girls, I have been watching that when DH is on nightshift and it's not too bad. Not as awesome as Outrageous Fortune though.
MP was in the year below me, so she finished in 94, I finished 93.
JM - glad you got the all clear. Scary with S, glad she's OK. My sis did something similar with Grandpa's pills - had 3 doses of ipecac and still didn't spew so they ended up pumping her stomach.
We haven't watched any kid's movies, not sure she'd sit still for long enough, only just manages Play School.
Ginger - you sneaky birthday girl!! Hope you had a good day.
MD - mmmm, chocolate covered strawberries for lunch, that would be pretty good!
