Good luck at your appointment today Sarah. I am going to ring up and cancel my 40 week appointment. Dunno if I'll get another appointment they are so heavily booked. But my last appointment clashes with Em's last immunisation. I'll see how I go.
Well I tought I was in labour for real last night. I was having contractions, not sure how far appart they were cause I told myself to get some rest, and that it didn't matter how far appart they were at this point (I think they were about 10mins apart). They started at the top of my uterus and went right down, they were fairly strong, and made my hips ache. This was at about 2am, went to the toilet at about 3am after one of them to see if there was any blood (that has been the big give away in my past two labours) and there was none. I woke at about 4 and was still having them... then at 6 and they had gone... just a couple of BH.
But yu know yesterday I rang elstra to get my mobile transferred to a prepaid so I can have credit just to SMS you guys... and all I could think about is that it may be too late!! LOL. I might ring the midwives a the hospital, I am a bit concerned now that I might think the real thing isn't it and end up with strong contractions and get stuck at home... It's bad enough having to travel half an hour in the car with reasonably strong contrations.... does that make sence? I've got a lot more to organise this time around!
So my big rest yesterday was ruined last night, I didn't get much sleep at all!! I think I got to sleep at about 1am... was very restless again! Grrr... oh well... better get used to it!

Well I put an insurance claim in for the camera today. I wont get as much as what I need to replace it, but hopefully it will only need a little topping up to get the next model. The guy didn't think my memory cards would be covered - they sit in the bag with the camera and theya re worth over $100 in themselves!! What a bugger.
I would much rather just have my one back.
Have also just talked to Mum. She wants to fly me over with bubs when hs/shes about 6 weeks old!! Hows that for keen!! Not sure how I feel about that, might be a bit rushed for me. It would also need to tie in with netball games, so it would have to be school holidays which is more expensive. Also she told me that she hasn't even talked to my brother yet (and its been almost a week) because she has her nose out of joint that they haven't tried to call her. I don't blame her- my brother really stuffed up here by not making a call, and he will live to regret it! After all - what is a $5 phone call to a grandmother in the grand scheme of things?
Anyway - I'm going back to bed to read until Deb calls - we are going to the movies today!

What a pain about having to get another camera Fi & then your memory cards not being covered #-o Gosh your brother seems like he's forgotten all the important people for the announcement that the baby arrived. No wonder you're mum's cranky. Wow at flying to NZ with such a little baby, your mum must be really excited.
Those contractions must be driving you crazy Tanya. I hope they turn into the real thing soon.
Had my appointment & all is good with munchkin as per usual. The midwife was a bit annoyed cos they had no info on me other than from my initial 14w appointment - my Dr had me seeing him rather than going to the hospital all the time. So after my 5min appoitnment I had to sit around & wait for them to get the results from every test I've had done in the last 6 months faxed over :roll:
BUT we did end up with an interesting thing... I have to go to an appointment next Wednesday & then if nothing has happened I am pretty sure I'll be induced on Friday the 18th :shock: She said on the 18th I have to go to an appointment with the maternal & fetal clinic, they do a trace on munchkin, an u/s & an internal then decided whether to induce me with gels or break my waters. OMG THE END IS IN SIGHT!!!

Am I still aloud to be in this group?? Seems like the midwifes scales were out. Took Tehya to the chemist this morning where I take Noah to get weighed and checked - their is a midwife there. Anyway instead of being 8lb 7oz she is actually 8lb 2oz. I didn't think she looked that fat. And her lenght was shorter too, instead of being 52cm she is 50.5cm, so bit of a stuff up there. You know I was looking at her thinking she's not really that big, If she is shorter than the boys yet weighs more surely she'd look fatter than them. Looks like I was right.
No sleep last night, bub only slept from 3.30 am til 7.30 am. Look forward to it girls. Got to go Mark is back with lunch, must eat to get this bloody milk in. She is being really fussy on the boob, only 4 feeds since she was born.
Promise to come back soon and do a proper post to all :)

Phew... back from the movies! Fi and I had a good time. We saw Million Dollar Baby. It was a great movie... but a bit if a tear-jerker. I can see why it won so many awards! Thanks for the great arvo out, Fi (and for paying for lunch ;) ).

Trish - dear me @ the midwife getting all the measurements wrong. Lucky you checked! Sorry to hear that Tehya is having difficulty feeding and sleeping. I guess it's all a bit stressful the first few days being out of that comfy tummy, hey?? Hope you enjoyed your lunch. Are the boys all doting on her like crazy already?? Well, I feel like I have run a marathon not sitting at the movies and walking around Target, LOL. I still have to go and order Neil some fish and chips then take them down to Torquay. I insisted having dinner with him tonight. He said he would just grab something out of the fridge to eat but, trust me, there's nothing appetising in there! I think it will be an early night for me tonight!
I hope this is 4th time lucky to stay logged on in here, 3 times the computer has decided to shut down on me - have no idea why and once I turned it off due to a dry thunder storm.
Deb - sounds like you and Fi had a great time today, I`m not up with the movies so have no idea what Million Dollar Baby is about I gather a baby????

Something strange is going on with Marks and my link bank account, went down to PO to pay Child Support and bills from pathology (GCT and strep B) and it came up that we have exceeded our limit today, considering neither of us have use it today it can`t be possible so the X doesn`t get her money - sure we will hear about it shortly, she`s been complaining of not haveing any money so we`ve had to pay for school photos pluys trips away for the boys - really could do without that added expense.

Dee - the movie is about a chick that wants to box and hassles this really good trainer into taking her on. It's pretty good. Fi and I both agreed that we don't really like boxing but, MAN, when the fight scenes were on, she could really pack a punch! Take that biatch!!! LOL Worth watching, for sure!
Hope you get your bank account sorted. I hate it when stuff like that happens! Once our credit card was frozen just because i had taken 2 cash withdrawals out on one day. They thought it looked suss! They didn't let us know for a couple of weeks later. Meanwhile I kept getting embarrassed when my card didn't work! Fricken banks!!
Get pics trish and an amazingly gorgeous girl. Don't worry, the midwife measured Jess and said 50cm and at 1 wk she was 49cms so now I don't really know her length at birth, which sort of annoys me.
Hope the milk comes in hard and fast and that you get some rest.

Morning all :) I'm still hanging round, I think my little munchkin is quite content to stay where he is at the moment. I have no signs whatsoever of anything happening soon, but that's ok. I'm not sick of being pregnant just yet, just getting impatient cos I really really want to see what this little guy looks like. I figure after waiting 2yrs to finally get pregnant I can wait a few more days to meet my bub.
Deb, hope your appointment goes well & that BP of yours has come down a bit from the weekend.

LOL Colleen I remember saying the same thing with offically being more pregnant with Lachlan than Kameron ;) Kam too was born at 37wks 6days and Lachlan was born at 38wks 2 days. So had 3 more days of being pregnant :D

Sarah, just when you think you'll be preggers forever the baby decides to come. Each time I have gone into labour I have had no real signs before hand. BTW... why will you be induced only 6days after your EDD? Usually they wait for around 10days? Well here's hoping that your don't have to wait that long neway.

I am not very happy (whats new huh)
I have spent the whole night scratching myself silly. Dh was scared I was going to rip all my skin off. inside my thighs behind my knees and inner arms are the worse spots. I just wanna scream.
I really am ready for Nixee to come out now. Had enough, totally over it.
Last night our next door neighbour popped round after returning from england with a huge bottle of bourbon and no crap I was literally drooling lmao. Dh was a sweety and put it out of sight for now. He has not had a drop since I got pregnant so we are going to be one cheap couple of ****heads when we do divulge.
Nixee has stopped moving as much which makes me panic but a quick check with the doppler puts my mind at ease a little.
Sarah one minute I think yeah come on out little one ad the next minute I'm thinking nah im too tired today lol.
Tanya let us know what the midwife says please or I will worry about you.
Colleen you really have had it hard, I think things are sounding close for you though.
Fi and Deb I also had a huge giggle at the thought of you both waddling in to a cinema and seeing the staff sh*t themselves when seeing those big bellies lol.
I made curry last night and kept a bowl for lunch so I am going to go heat that up as I am starving. Mind you after I have eaten that I will be starving again in an hour as this appetite is ravenous lately.
Tanya! We are soooo not getting sick of you! Don't say that. I don't mind how much you whinge! You are so supportive with all of us and you always offer constructive advise (always very handy to hear from ladies that have btdt!). So complain away my dear!!
Shannon and Kayla - I didn't even think that the staff at the movies would even notice we were preggers but, yeah, I guess it would have been a little disconcerting for them!! LOL It was good to go but I think I am in agreeance with Fi (who was very uncomfortable in the seats) that I won't be going again during this pregnancy. It's hard to sit still for so long!
Kayla - ouchies on the itching! Have you called the hospital and told them about it? I hope it's nothing too serious. Good on your DH for not drinking along with you!! I just had a bit of a "discussion" with Neil because he wants to get on the grog on Friday night. It is his brother's last day of work. I was really hoping that in the last couple of weeks of this pregnancy that he would lay off the beer on the weekends just in case. I mean he is going to be useless to me in any kind of drunk state - let alone in a hung over state! Yet he makes me feel like I am depriving him by suggesting that he stay sober. Urrgh!!
Sarah - I feel the same way that you do. Bubs isn't quite ready yet. I am not sick of being pregnant yet either. I figure a bit of extra cooking ain't gonna hurt them!
My appointment went well. I didn't get the nasty sonographer again! WOO HOO! This time I got a lady and she was lovely. She explained everything she was doing (looking at blood flow in the cord, fluid around the baby etc. etc.) and all the bits she was looking at. Little Nobba isn't engaged and she said she found that interesting seeing as it is my first. She said they are normally engaged by now! Trust my baby to be out of the ordinary!! She said bubs looks pretty damn happy in there. She got an estimate of the weight and she said that I am looking at having a pretty big baby - it is measuring 8lbs 13oz!!!! OMG!! So much for my dream of having a 7lbs baby!! Grrr! Considering it could still be in there for another couple of weeks and do even more growing, I am not impressed!!! LOL She said that the estimate is give or take 15% but, either way, it is going to be 8lbs or over. Geeeeeeez! I just didn't feel as though I was that big!
I had my pregnancy care appointment at the antenatal clinic straight afterwards and I had the same Dr. that saw me at the MDAU on Monday which was good (nothing like a bit of continuity, hey??). My BP is back down to a normal range (still on the high side) and she was happy that my headaches have gotten a little better. She still wants to get a thorough eye on everything though so I am booked into the MDAU again on Tuesday and have another ANC appointment on Thursday. Either way, she said bubs is doing really well and my BP is not affecting it one iota! She was a little concerned with my wee sample. Apparently I have a high white cell count in it or something. She was concerned that i might have an infection. So i had to do yet another wee sample this arvo. I tell ya, when you fall pregnant they should just give you a bucket to store all your wee in and hand it over. I feel like hardly any of it goes in the loo anymore!! LOL
Neil was not impressed that bubs is probably going to go over. He wants everything to happen in a certain period of time to suit him. Frankly, I am a little over him atm. Last night he just about bit my head off just because his work pants weren't dry. I told him to put them in the dryer when he has his shower in the morning. "I don't have time!!" he snapped. I told him I am sick of him being grumpy and that I don't care if we are poor, he just can't keep doing this 2 job crap. If he thinks he is doing it again next week, he has another thing coming!!! Grrrr!

Yes movies was great - although the seats were hideously uncomfy! Well they are normally comfy, but yesterday - not in the slightest. My pleasure on the lunch Deb since you shouted the tickets and bought me a pressy too! I presume you kept the slouch socks hidden from Neil then?
Great to hear the appt went well today, and there is nothing wrong with baby waiting a little longer. As Tanya says though - anything could happen!
I'm happy to wait for at least 2 weekends cause I think every team in shane's cricket club has made the semi finals. It wouldn't be good for me to go on the next two weekends...... Apparently it happens every year, and as soon as we found out I was preggers we did the count up and figured I was pretty much due on grand final weekend. You can guess which one Shane would be going to if it did happen!! And it wouldn't be with me!
Kayla - You sound like you are in the dumps with the itching and scratching! How much time do you spend in bed these days? Not much longer, and it will all be over! Big Phew for you! And i so know how you feel about the bourbon - although I have to say I feel it with a good bottle of chardy.
Tanya - I had one of those nights too - really restless and filled with silly dreams. Let me know if the midwives make any suggestions?
Sarah - I'm with you.... Whats the rush of a few more days when you have waited this long huh? At least you have a final date if you dont go in the meantime.
Well I realised last night when I phoned my brother and his wife I dont really need to talk to them. Specially after they told me how horrid immunisations are, and how they wont be doing them, and how clothes in Oz are designed for disposable nappies, so all the clothes that fit on the bum with cloth are too big on shoulders, and then the clincher - Once I have the baby I might be happy to be pregnant again.
What does he bloody know..... Why is it big brothers have to tell little sisters that they know everything? How come I can't figure out the baby stuff myself, and why does he not think we thought about this baby before falling pg?? Does he think I'm stupid? And I made a snarky comment along the lines of "Oh you're so right, I have no idea what I'm in for and neither does Shane who's had 3 children...."
After that he said goodbye and we hung up on each other.
Grrr - and Shane has called me up every couple of hours today saying he's bored and he misses me at work. Like that helps!!! At least he's trying to be sweet!

I wish Neil would do that every now and then. Yep... I hid the tights from Neil in a really secluded spot.... in the nursery, LOL. He wouldn't know what was in there and what wasn't!! LOL

Deb - his problem is he's a big brother who thinks he knows it all, and can't deal with the fact his baby sister is nearly 30 and is quite competant thank you very much!!!
He hates the fact I have my own house (as well as Shane's place), that I earn the same amount as him, that I caould apply for the same job as him, and have as good a chance of getting it, and that I am actually a fairly competant person - and I'm 5 years younger.
He likes to feel like the big man. Even Mum says hes a pain!! Be thankful you only have little sisters......
Kayla, mabe you could try pinetarsol for the itching. I had extreme itching in late pg and that made all the difference and it was gone within a few days.

Called thehospital this morning and spoke to one of the midwives about these Darn pre-labour contractions I have been having. Basically she said to take some panadol before bed so I can rest. She also asked when my next Dr appointment was and I told her the 21st (I cancelled my one on the 17 due to double booking myself), she was a bit shocked it was so far away. She told me if I was still concern to come in early in themorning for when my Dr does his rounds, I said that I would if I had any concerns.
Anyway she calls back a couple of hours later and tells me to come in for when the Dr is on his lunch break. So I went in and sat on the monitor for a while.... no contractions... heartbeat good. Dr came in and we tlked about my concerns about missing the start of my labour and not ready to go to hospital on time. And that I live out of town and that my babysitter is coming over form Numurkah... Blah blah blah. Anyway, he agree witht hte midwife and said to take panadol or panadene to help me sleep, and to come in if I think I might be in labour, or if I have ANY other concerns. They also both agreed that I wouldn't see my due date, they both said "tonight", after I said last night the contractions were 4 mins appart.... well I dunno about that, and I told them not to jinx me. If they say I'll go early, you know what's gunna happen... I'll go a week over!
NE way... glad your appointment went well Deb! Sounds like your little nobba is a slightly larger nobba than you thought!! LOL... But you say that you are tall, and Neil is tall?? That usually makes for a big baby. Fingers crossed that BP stays low enough and those headaches stay away.
Fi, sounds like your brother is being a pain. Is the baby they just had his 1st? Cause if it is he might still be on his high horse about being a Dad. As for the clothes form Oz?? Would they really be that different form NZ??

Tanya, hope the panadol works for you. I can imagine that going into labour after having very little sleep would be no good.
Aww Kayla, I'm with you on the scratching - it's just horrible isn't it. Mine's a heat rash so all I can really do is have cool showers whenever it gets too bad. Hope it goes away soon. Naughty Nixee for scaring mummy like that.
Glad your appointment went well Deb & your BP has gone down. Let's just hope it doesn't go back up again. Hopefully Neil will setle down a bit once he stops the other job. Must be stressful on both of you atm.

As for me, I did a bit too much today & am now feeling very sore.We had the carpet cleaned in the loungeroom & munchkin's room cos it was really gross & I didn't like the thought of him laying on a yucky floor. So I had to vacuum before they came - which actually turned into a BIG clean of the house. It looks great & smells nice - I have all my candles going, but boy are my stomach muscles sore. Ah well, I won't need to do a big clean like that for a while now.
Speaking of cleaning - Deb how's the kitchen going?

Huh Sarah! You sound liek a good housewife doing the vacuuming. I on the other hand have been in bed for most of the day, then I loaded up the dishwasher JUST before Shane walked in so it looked like I did something.
Tanya - Yes it is their number 1 baby, and it was an accident - despite the fact they have been married for 2 years, and they are 33ish, they still call it such. Some people are so wierd! And you are right - there would really be no difference between clothes here and in NZ - I'm sure they are all made in China anyway! He's just being a know itall.
How exciting if you went tonight! Did they do an internal this morning??? Is the baby ready to go? Hope your headache goes away.... maybe it can be replaced by another baby!! Yeeha! How excitement!
Well I got a nasty shock. We have managed to get the baby seat into the ute without the passenger seat being pushed out the windscreen - it wont be comfy for long drives, but it will do. Becasue its a commercial vehicle, there are no anchor points, and we have to get one fitted in the form of a bar. $220..... OMG! That was something I hadn't budgeted for!! But I guess its just one of those things, and complaining aint going to change the fact its needed. Makes $60 look alright though huh Sarah? Lets hope these guys aren't as stupid as your ones were.
And Deb - I told you you weren't having a 7lb baby!! You need to learn to trust me - Fifi knows it all, or at least thats what I keep telling Shane. :D
Shane has fallen asleep on the couch - he's supposed to go to cricket training, but if I dont wake him up in the next 30 mins, he probably wont go, and I'll get to spend the afternoon with him instead! Yay! So I'm being as quiet as a mouse. Hard to imagine huh? 8-[
