Barley - that is great!! i hope Emma does the same soon too!
](*,) ](*,) Saturday night she woke every 1-2 hours, with sesvere stomach/wind pain... Lot's of farting... But it still doesnt seem to have settled, last night she woke at 1:30 after a 8pm feed, but then she woke at 4 & again at 7am... I am tired!!!!
But she has been asleep now since 7am...
Hi, Just thought that I would start popping in here and get to know those who I don't already know from the Due in Oct forum.. as i hope to be joining you guys real soon
Hope you are in here really soon Canniel!!!
hi all, still around (kinda), just so tired... Ned is still feeding 2.5-3 hourly and its driving me nuts...
divvy, emma seems to be feeding really often too sometimes. last night i was up pretty much constantly until 1am, which hasnt happened before now. it was her first day of really being unsettled.
does anyone else find that there is no real pattern to feeding? Emma will have a feed, then one 1.5 hours later, then 2 hours later, then one 5 hours later. it doesnt make sense to me (and it seems the long breaks are through the day and the short ones are at night #-o )
Make her room lighter during the day & go about your noraml noisy daytime things & her room dark at night & quieter, so she will recognise day & night!!!
Hope that helps! :-k
i have been doing that barley. i guess over time she will get the hint - LOL

Hello!
Have finally got 5min to log on and have a chat! Have just read through and it is so good to read everyones posts. I can relate to so much!
Louis is feeding every 2-4hours at the moment but generally 3hours seems to be about his limit.
Yep - he sleeps really well through the day and not so well at night. DH & I were up with him for a couple of hours last night trying to settle him! We had a bit of trouble with him going down in his cot so we've raised the end up and he seems to like that a lot better.
He is a healthy little boy and gaining weight pretty fast. In the 6 days we'd been home he'd put on 260g! He's only a little one though so it's great that he's putting on so much weight.
We're off tomorrow to the specialist as he has a tongue tie and we're getting it snipped. We didn't have to but apparently it's such a simple and minor procedure that we're better off doing it now than risking him having trouble with his speech later on.
For me it's been a pretty amazing 9 days. I've had a few tears with adjusting to limited sleep and am a bit worried as I head back to work part time next week (Louis will come with me) With such unpredictable waking and sleeping patterns I'm not sure how well it will got though.
O.K - enough of me. I look forward to chatting to you all about our little bundles! I'll hopefully have our website updated soon so you can see him!
Barley - Glad you said that - I was just wondering whether you should keep the room lighter in the day. I will have to open the curtains from now on!
Hi Kristy - glad to see you in here!! :D
Its great to hear little Louis is doing so well gaining weight. Sorry to hear he is keeping you up at night (but sort of glad to hear Emma isnt the only one LOL - sorry).

Welcome Nikki and Kristy!
I've put your details on the front page :)
hi guys.im doing well.chantelle is doing even better.she has decided that she likes sleeping during the night so far.she is only waking for one feed.she is sleepy during the mornings but becomes unsettled during the afternoons and evenings.i can handle that.i feel a bit strange today a little anxious as dh has gone back to work and i feel like im not sure what to do next.my house is clean, washing is done, beds made, dishes done and now i am just wondering around.......i will cook dinner during the day while all is quiet as when the boys get home it seems like a mad house and i want to try and spend time with them rather than pushing them aside because i need to cook and look after baby girl.my younger son is a hndful so i will try and give him positive quality time after school so he doesnt need to be naughty to get my attention.each day i am feeling better,my scar is still bleeding a bit but the midwife is coming by today so i will get her to have a look.my boobs are huge and full, ive got plenty of milk for her which is good.i feel like i am moarning a bit that this was my last pregnancy.i dont want 4 children and i loved being prg and feel sad that i will not be doing that again.when i think about it i feel like crying.our pupies start to leave us this weekend.that is a good thing they are getting harder to look after now.we are of course keeping one and are looking forward to her being the only one left so we can bring her in with us and enjoy her.james my older son is absolutly in love with his baby sister and cant help enough, corey on the other hand calls her baby sister, hasnt called her by name yet and is still just observing.dh has een amazing and wonderful,he has suprised me with how capable and helpful he can be and also very thoughtful of me.he is a lovely natured man normally but always too busy to really be a part of family life as he runs his own business.chantelle slept with me last night and i was devastated to find her under the covers crying and sweating.poor thing i felt like a terrible mother.i can assure you that will not happen agian, poor little darling.
weel apart from that i am really looking forward to talking more with all my old prg buddies when they get in here,it will be like old times agian, you are all such an amazing support and im glad i have you all.
nikki
i'm glad to hear that chantelle is sleeping so well for you at night nikki, Emma is improving, but i still have to get up about 3 times. luckily she then settles easily. sounds like you are really on top of things, but i do hope you arent overdoing it. REST my dear while you have the perfect excuse!!!
Well, i am as in love with my Emma as ever. I never expected motherhood to turn me into such a sook!!! But often i just want to sit and look at her or hold her. It all just seems too good to be true.
Hi guys!
Glad you've got your sleep sorted - I think our nights keep getting worse. He just won't settle - grrrr.
Well, we went and got his tongue tie snipped - was really such a minor procedure he didn't even cry! I don't feel so guilty now.
A couple of questions:
Do you guys use wipes at nappy change time or cotton balls like in hospital??
How long are your bubs taking to feed and are they going to both sides?
I'm sure I'll have heaps of questions as time passes.
OK - am so tired am off for a snooze while the little monster is sleeping - hehe.
Oops - forgot to say congrats Nikki! Glad to see you in this forum!
Kristy - i hope you are having a nice long relaxing nap right now!!So glad to hear that the procedure to have the tongue tie fixed was simple. better to have it sorted now i think.
as for me - i am using wipes. i use the huggies ones and havent had any irritation at all on Emma.
Emma feeds for about 20 mins, then a nappy change, then sometimes goes onto the other side, but sometimes doesnt bother. i guess most feeds/nappy changes take around 30-45 minutes by the time we have a little cuddle at the end.
