    #2's after bub....waaay TMI...

OK this is going to be waaay tmi and is rather mortifying to ask!! But I do have to ask!

Since having ds 5mths ago, my bowels have been working much more regularly than ever! This is great as I was never all that regular and always felt a little constipated. But since having him, I have been getting anal fissures (told ya...tmi!). I used to get small ones occaisionally before especially if I hadn't been to the toilet for a while, but now they are just getting worse and worse and I think because I am going regularly (every day) they aren't getting a chance to heal and are just getting worse.
My motions don't seem to be overly...large ( so sorry!) and are not hard either. I eat plenty of veg/fruit/wholegrains and drink heaps of water. So I don't think it's an issue of not enough fibre or fluid.
Now when I go to do #2's there is always blood when I wipe and it hurts. I try to relax but it's hard when the fissures are seemingly re-tearing every time. The past few days have been particularly bad, with it bleeding for a while after going. This has never happened before and tonight there was even some blood on the toilet bowl and the water was red....(waaaay tmi...sorry!!!!).
Anyone had the same problem? Anyone know why it's so much worse now is it something to do with hormones after having DS? Is there something I can do to stop it happening?
Again I apologise for the TMI!!!

Maybe a trip to the doctor is in order just to make sure everything is alright?

Sounds painful, so lots of sympathy heading your way!

I'm getting exactly the same thing. My DD is almost 11 months old. I've had it going on for a few months and have just kept forgetting to book a doctors appointment.

i had the same thing about 6 months after DD was born. never had any constipation or fissures before. and it hurt like HELL!! went to the doctor about a million times and used heaps of different creams which never worked. just made sure i had heaps of water and a bit of metemucil and used bepanthem nappy rash cream for a while, applied before going to the loo, washed area with water then applied more. i still dont know why it happened. i would probably get it checked out if i were you though, cause they say you should always get checked if you have bleeding from that area. hope it heals soon.

Check out this thread, some great hints from others with fissure issues!

I can sympathise. I found the fissure worse than childbirth!

    Good luck.

Go and see your doctor, there are several methods of treatment. It ain't worth the pain! In my case I ended up have a very quick bum op, >20 mins on the table, INSTANT relief. Don't suffer the pain and embarrassment, see your doc.

I just did a google search. I will try to remember to book in to see my doc this week or next. I don't have a huge amount of pain with mine (if that's what I have). I did notice after having DD that for about 3 months I was doing a lot of number 2's in a day (3-4 instead of 1)
