3wk period after birth!!!

Ive had my period for nearly 3wks is that normal? every couple of days I get really bad period pain then it goes and one day of light period then the next day heavy...should I goto the doctor?? im on the blood thinning drugs(cause of a blood clot during pregnancy) do u think that could b why I still have the blood? but it doesnt explain the period pains???

any help would b appreciated...

If you're having any unusual bleeding I would go see a Dr.

I bleed for 6 -7 weeks with both of my kids and it would come and go. But definately go and see your Dr if you are worried.

It is pretty normal to bleed for anything upto 6 weeks

Same here, I bleed off and on for 6wks after Ty was born. It wasn't heavy bleeding..just annoying simple because it lasted that long..

yeah i bled for 6 weeks aswell... I had cramping pains too, but thought it was just everything going back into place again.

Lucy is 2 months old, So I would have expected bleeding to have stopped by now...

Shinee, I would discuss it with your doc hun, just to be on the safe side...Perhaps your body is trying to get its normal hormone profile back to what it was. I'm not sure.
How scary for you having a clot during your pregnancy. How was it diagnosed? Is it gone now? Hope your ok

I would definitely go and see a doctor - I bled for ages as well with the cramping and it turned out I needed a curette. I thought the bleeding and cramping were normal but my midwife asked the right questions and I also had a temperature and she sent me immediately to the doctor.
Of course your case may be different but go and see the doctor for your own sense of well being.

Have you seen a Doc Leah? did you end up having a vaginal birth or c/s? I had c/s and my bleeding has almost stopped after 2 weeks.

Hey gils thanks for the replies i had a blood clot in pregnancy which has gone but im on blood thinning agents! I was bleeding VERY heavily yesturday so didnt take my injection which has helped i will see how it goes tomoro if it starts up again hopefully it will just go away now cause yesturday was the heaviest it has been in 3wks!
