AF cycle getting shorter and shorter....

I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the contraception thread, so mods please move if need be...

I'm still breastfeeding my DS who is almost 1. I got AF back when he was 10 months, after a bit of spotting here and there for a few weeks. My first cycle was 21 days and now the last one has been 14 days. Prior to having DS I was on the pill, but in the 5 months I was off it my cycle was always around 28 days. I'm just wondering if it is common for your cycle to go a bit funny when AF starts up again or if maybe it is the minipill playing havoc with my body? I've been on it since DS was about 6 weeks and haven't had any problems till now... Mind you I did have an implanon years ago which I got removed after about 18 months because I developed almost continual spotting over time. I know implanon and the mini pill both use progesterone so am wondering if maybe it is the minipill...

Be great to hear your experiences with the return of AF and the minipill.

    TIA

I did a search and found this post. This is exactly what is happening to me. breastfeeding, on mini pill and cycles are getting shorter and shorter.

last 4 cycles were 20 days, 18 days, 17 days, then 13 days!.

I wasn't monitoring cycles before then, but AF returned at 6 months PP and cycles were roughly monthly.

any suggestions? I am really over having AF almost constantly.

The mini pill did that to me after DD1 too. Wish I had a magic suggestion but I just had to stop taking it. Took a while for it to even out too.

Oh bummer. Can you take full pill while breastfeeding? My youngest is 15 months.

Might have to look into other contraception, argh..
