bleeding again ... 2 weeks post baby

Like the title says, I've started bleeding again. Ambah is now 2 weeks old. The bleeding stopped about a week ago, and today it started, and it's really dark red, and heavy. It looks a little like old blood. When I delivered the placenta, the midwife noticed the the placenta was not 'intact' as she put it. I passed a few clots, and my blood loss was monitored by the midwives. Everything seemed fine so no further examination was deemed necessary. Do you think it's necessary with this new lot of bleeding? I was going to see how much I bled tonight, and if I'm still bleeding in the morning then ring the birth suite. Is that the best thing to do?

I think that is a wise thing to do. I know I had the same following both my deliveries so all should be fine, I think they would be more worried if there were large clots as well.

Thanks guys. Bleeding eased up overnight. I'm still bleeding, but not as much. I've let the midwives know, and I'm going to keep an eye on it, and if it increases again then I'll head in there and get it checked out.
