    Buying bras after breastfeeding

I've just finished bfing ds2 and want to go and buy some new bras. I will get professionally fitted as I'm largish and get a bad back if I'm not in the correct size.

So, how long should I wait before my bbs setlle into their shape? Will they stay as they are now, or change over the next couple of months? I don't want to splurge on new bras now only to find they don't fit properly 2 months down the track.

I would wait a couple of months. With DD2 my boobs shrank over a while and I also fluctuated with my weight. Initially after stopping bfing I gained weight then lost it all and some more which of course changes both bb size and back size. Of course everyone is different and this may not be the case with you but bras are so expensive especially when you go to a specialty shop to be fitted.

Lexie finished BF'ing in the April, and my birthday pressie from DH was a shopping spree for new bras!

I went along to a really great bra shop where they fit you wonderfully, and she let me buy only one bra and told me to come back 6 weeks later........

So I reckon give yourself 2 months or two full cycles?

    Enjoy!

I went and got fitted 1 cycle after finished breastfeeding, but I was desperate by then. I got 2 and she said to come back in 6 weeks to get 1 or 2 more. It was amazing, I went in with my breastfeeding bras still on and they were size 14B and I left with regular bras sized 12D!! So I lost size around my body but my cups got bigger! I was fitted while pregnant with Matilda my first and then didn't get fitted again until after finishing breastfeeding my second. Its obvious I should have got some bras in the meantime....

I stopped bf'ing DD2 and just as I fell pg with #3 so my bb's didn't change that much. I have noticed they are fuller now though, only a bit more since I was bf'ing.

Sorry, not much help lol and I'm still in maternity bra's mostly.

    Cheers,

    Beck

Good question Dee. I haven't been bfing for about 6 weeks now and I am dying to get new bras. I was going to rush out one lunch time this week if I had time but I might wait another couple of weeks just to be sure.

    Thanks for the advice all.
