My son is 3 months old and I required 4 stitches after he was born. They have been moderately sore since then but over the last few days, the site has been more painful. I 'investigated' this morning and found a piece of skin that was bloody hanging by a thread where the stitches used to be. It is extremely painful and i can't speak to my obst until tomorrow. Wondering if anybody has had this or knows what it is??
Apparently in about 7 months I will be a qualified midwife - yikes!

missbexy27, I did have proud tissue that was diagnosed after 3 months and I had to have silver nitrate applied to burn it off, not sure if it is the same but sounds similar!

LOL at the the when I was game! I was never game enough and after 3 months of not feeling quite right finally got the courage to get my GP look at it! And whammo, back to the Obs for the Silver Nitrate - felt very bizarre as my Obs had only ever ventured down there while I was in labour and to in pain to care, not in his rooms! lol!
Thanks for your help everyone. Was able to speak to my obst this morning and it sounds like they'll be bringing out the silver nitrate to burn it off...wohoooooo. Just when I thought it was all over....
I'm glad I found this forum though, it's nice to talk to people who understand!

Sorry Kells, I am actually the opposite. My last lot of stitches (I had stitches with both) healed really well and actually DTD has got better after no 2!!!!
Hi girls, i cant help you with stitches "down there", but had a horror of a job with my first c-section,,,and got a staph infection with the last one.
With the first one, the stitches ripped open a big hole (you could actually look in), and I got a huge lump develop in it, whenever i bent over, heaps of infection fluid run out of it. I had a massive dose of flagyl antibiotics, and it healed up really quickly.
Although, it was not actually very painful at all.
