    Belly after Baby

Before falling pregnant my stomach was relativley flat - did have slight roll when sitting down but nothing major.
Whilst pregnant i only put on 5.6kgs and 1st week after having her i lost nearly 10kgs - i have managed to keep it all off but now i have a jelly belly!
Is it possible to get rid of it completly or will i always have it?

yeah mine feels soft and jelly like - and i really don't like it - i have low self esteem as it is and no body confidence - i really don't need a stomach like i have! and the stretch marks!!!! well they are another story!

At 6 months pp, I am back at pre-pregnancy weight and my tummy is largely back to normal. Over time, my jelly belly (which felt like bread dough!) has gradually become less floppy and more like it was before. I don't think it will ever be the same- after all, there was a 9.5lb baby in there!- but it did get a WHOLE lot better in my case. Its not like I've done tummy exercises or anything (ugh), it just seemed to get less loose on its own. Yay!!

Now the hips are another matter.....sigh....

It has taken at least 12 months post bub for my stomach to be flattish. I don't think it will ever be the same once you have babies. I ended up being a size 7 due to illness after Caleb but my belly skin was still loose.
I think the secret is to be very selective with the clothes you wear. I reccon I tried on every style of jeans in Just Jeans one day to find the one that looked best on me

HJ it's only been 2 months!!! Give yourself a break hon! The only way to lose the tummy is to lose weight and keep your fingers crossed! It depends on your body where you'll lose it from first. Unfortunatly most women put on weight around their stomachs first and lose it from there last. But if you do lose weight it will come off your stomach too.

But like PP said if the skin is stretched then you'll probably always have a roll. Even when I was at my leanest I had saggy skin around my stomach - just make sure you don't bend over in a bikini and you're always standing up!!!

CombatQueen - thanks for the bikini comment! hahaha - i think my bikini days are long gone now! they ended at 29wks pregnant when i had to have my gall bladder removed - now with stretchmarks and jelly belly i dont have a hope in hell!
also i know its only been 2mths but everytime i look at my belly it gets me down - im always checking it when i sit down etc to make sure my roll isnt noticible! its depressing!

Raven - 12mths!!!!! im impatient and i cant wait that long!

the jelliness of it does go, it depends on what kind of birth you had as I think it goes faster for vaginal births?? i found mine was really jellyish for a while and now its back to normal at nearly 4 months (but as i've said in other posts, normal for me kind of resembles buddha haha)

Your belly should go back to normal very soon. I got my belly back in 3 days so anything is possible
