hair loss after birth - but not from my head!

    Hi

Its been 11 weeks since my gorgeous boy was born and a few weeks ago I noticed that my pubic hair was thinning. In fact I seem to have some bald patches developing. Now, I know some women pay good money for that hairless look down there but I'm not one of them. I have not noticed any loss of hair from my head (none on my hair brush) though my armpits also seem to be rather less hirsute than they were before. I have a thyroid disorder (Hashimoto's disease) and had a blood test last week that indicated that my thyroid hormone levels (T3 andT4) are ok but that my thyroid is working a smidge over time to keep the levels that way (TSH a bit low 0.22), so I have had to adjust my thyroxine dose a little tiny bit. I am also incredibly sweaty and over heat very easily. Breastfeeding is going very well and I have heard that that can make you sweaty but what I am feeling is ridiculous - I go red in the face and my hair (on my head) gets dripping wet when I do the least bit of exertion. I spoke to my endocrinologist about these symptoms and she seemed puzzled by the pubic hair loss but seemed to sweep it all under the carpet by saying "well, hormones go a little crazy after pregnancy"... This seems like a bit of a cop-out to me and I was wondering if anyone has heard of post-pregnancy pubic hair loss without concomitant head-hair loss. I am just worried that something more sinister is going on.

Thanks for your info & help...

    Regards,
    tarn

found it but it's in the platinum section. nothing to b worried bout, but a little annoying when u find the everywhere, including rooms u havent been in naked! I know this is tmi but when u r in the shower, try to run ur fingers thru them n get as many of the ones that are falling out, out and u will find less around the house. mine only continued falling out till around 6 weeks.
