I`m not sure what my body is doing re AF and hope someone can give me some advise. I got AF 7weeks, 5 days post baby, I bled for 8 days (not heavy), then 7 days later after going to the loo I noticed a very small amount of pinkish blood on the toilet paper, then 36 hours later same thing happened, then 12 hours later again the same little bit of pinkish blood only on the toilet paper. Sorry if any of this is TMI.
So I`m now at CD18 (last lot of blood smear was this morning) just wondering if this has happened to anyone else who has got AF while still breastfeeding and can BF be the cause of maybe AF coming early or can cause spotting mid cycle.
I don`t really know whats going on as I`ve never had spotting like this before and always had a regular cycle of 28 days before Matthew.
I am definately not an expert on the subject, but am wondering if the extra spotting is due to having having given birth not too long ago...
The reason I say this, is because I got AF (or what I thought was AF) at 10 weeks after birth (mind you I had only stopped bleeding from the birth at 8 weeks). and then it stopped after about a week, but then a week later I started bleeding again, then it stopped for a week, and started again.
I know its different to what is happening to you, but was just wondering if it takes your body some time to get into another proper cycle after giving birth.
I thought that when BF that AF took a lot longer to come back... so are you sure it was AF, and not just more post birth bleeding starting up again? I only ask this, cause this is what I think happened in my case.
Would love to hear what others opinions/experiences are on this...
Dee, I am the same as you. AF comes and goes as she feels like it, and its really annoying. Sometimes I wipe, and there is heaps of bloody mucus (sorry if TMI), so I put a pad on. 3 hours later, not a spot on it.
Its completely bizarre. I'm not sure if I am ovulating again or not, or what the hell is goingon!! Its happened about 5 times in the last 8 weeks, so there is nothing regualr, but I'm pretty sure its not post baby bleeding. Dont know why??? But it just doesn't feel like it.
Ambah - Like Fi I`m pretty sure it was AF, I got all the normal AF symtoms, being bloated and a bit of low backache, again not as bad as AF was before conception. Yes I thought while BFing AF would stay away for a while but it doesn`t seem like it.
Fi - Well I`m glad I`m not the only one confused with my body ATM, looks like we both have the same problems. I don`t have enough spotting at the moment to put a pad on it`s just on the toilet paper and like you is a bit mucosy. I was even beginning to think implantation bleed but I`m sure I haven`t even ovulated yet and I didn`t get an implantation bleed with Matthew, and I don`t even know when implantation bleed would even occur. Hopefully our bodies will short themselves out.
Anyone else have anything like Fi and I are experiencing? Shannon how are you going I think I recall reading somewhere AF arrived for you also.
I bled for 9 weeks post baby, but I have had nothing since. Although I could have sworn she was coming 2 weeks ago as I had crampy pains, but no sore BB's which is a sure sign.
So nothing as yet for me, but I am waiting, waiting, wondering!
