Mirena- will i bleed if I am BF ??

I am getting the Mirena put in on wednesday and was just wondering if i will bleed ??
is it like a period ?? I am fully Breastfeeding ..

will the fact that im breastfeeding stop the bleeding like a period ?? or does the actual insertion cause the bleeding ..

I am not crazy over getting this done , as im paranoiod something will go wrong ..

my body has a habit of expelling forigen bodies (like peicrcings ) will my body expell the mirena

I dont know much about it so can you share your experiences please ??

    thanks

I don't have personal experience, I never got around to having mine put in (thankfully ) but I have friends who were b'feeding and yes, they still bled. More spotting/break through bleeding than a full period though.

a friend of mine bled continously for months - in the end she ended up having it removed - her internal systemsare not completely normal though although whether this affected it I don't know. Certainly not suggesting this will happen to you or to scare you just letting you know cause she was never told this could happen.

Lea, i also have a friend who had the mirena and she bled heavily for 8 months , she would ahve a day or two here or there where it was just spotting but the rest of the time she was bleeding heavily, in the end she decided to have it removed as it caused 'her' more troubles then it was worth.
That's not to say that the same will happy with you, you might be lucky enough to not experience any of that - i hope so!
