yep, seems normal to me. I had bleeding, then it stopped, then it started again. It'll take a few months to get back to normal. And if you're b/f then it'll probably take even longer. Sucks doesn't it!!

Yes, sounds similar to what I experienced. Bled consistantly for about 3.5 weeks, stopped, then returned at 7 weeks post natal for a few days. Now, 6.5 months on (no longer b/f --was forced to stop at 2 months) periods are still all over the place. My first couple were quite heavy and MUCH longer than usual, but I guess not having the pill to regulate it makes a difference too. But I must say, aside from being very irregular cycles the period itself is getting more tolerable. Hope that helps.

Yes, you can bleed on and off for several weeks. The thing to watch out for is if the flow becomes alarming in quantity or there is a nasty smelly discharge, see your doctor as it can be signs of an infection.

Good point Marydean. Along the same lines, if you have a sudden onset of VERY heavy bleeding it may be sign of retained products (i.e. part of placenta etc still in utero, which can lead to infection- perhpas this is what Marydean was saying, sorry to be redundant if so I had this scare and was nearly sent for an u/s to be sure.

Cass - returning to some red bleeding can be a sign that you're overdoing it a little, too. Maybe see if some extra rest makes things settle down again? (Easier said than done, I know.) Try to keep it to light housework and cooking, no heavy work like mopping or scrubbing, or vacuuming, etc. Your regular period, if you are nursing, might take anywhere from 2 months to 18 months to return, and longer than that to become regular.
    All the best!
