Lightbulb Is It Normal For AF To Take A Holiday?

As the heading states is it normal for AF to go on holidays after it returning post baby and I`m still breastfeeding?

AF returned when Adrian was 4.5 months and has been regular since until this month where I`m now 11 days late.

Is this normal after being regular post baby?

There is a slim chance as we had a couple of accidents with the condom, the first accident was only minor and I`m quite sure nothing escaped but the 2nd accident was quite major and everything escaped!!! but this happened on the day AF was due so I can`t really see how I can get pregnant on the day AF was due.

Oh I`ve also done a couple of HPT which come up negative.

So I don`t think pregnancy is the answer, just thought there might be some other Mummy`s out there who may have experienced something similar to what I`m going through.

Dee, don't be surprised if your a very irregular while breastfeeding...
Have you thought about tracking your CM just to see where in your cycle you may be?

    Good luck

Dee, it happened to me after I had Paige and I wasn't BF either by then. She was 8 weeks and I got AF, then I didin't have one for another 3 months and to say I was terrified was an understatement LOL. I saw my dr about it and he told me to just start the pill again after we ruled out me being pg. I still have no idea why she dissapeared, one thing I did think of was cause of the PPH I had - maybe that screwed things up and you had one too - so who knows?

Thank you girls for your replies.

Tanya - thanks so much, I was unaware that once you get regular AF`s while breastfeeding they can still become irregular. Yes I`ve been tracking my CM so I know when I`m ovulating just to be extra safe (or try to be) during that time.

Sherie - You have a great memory, I never even thought about my PPH maybe a reason behind this. Our bodies are very confusing at times but also very amazing at other times.

I reckon it is definately a possibility that AF has gone on holidays

another reason (along with the others) is if your DS has been feeding a bit more lately, maybe due to a growth spurt or something.

Meanwhile, almost 11mths post baby, I'm still waiting for AF to return - not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing.....
