    Loose ligaments???

I've heard that ligaments become a bit looser whilst pregnant, but does anyone know how long it takes for them to go back to normal? I've had issues with my left knee dislocating occasionally (not always all the way out) since I was a teenager, but lately it's been happening really regularly (kind of wobbling in and out). I keep thinking that it'll stop soon and it's just a pregnancy thing, but it's now been 4 months and I'm starting to wonder if its something else. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

No experience here but I would be starting to think that it might not be pregnancy related. Maybe get it looked at before it gets worse. maybe find some strengthening exercises or wear a brace for some support.

I had knee issues after pregnancy and it resolved itself after about 6 months. I think it was related to loose ligaments combined with not exercising so much in late pregnancy/newborn period and then having to build up the muscles again. A physio could help with exercises perhaps... It is unpleasant I know.

Are you breast feeding? Relaxin continues to be released by your body (but in smaller doses) while breast feeding.

I had/ still have knee issues that my physio and GP think were exacerbated by pregnancy, even though DS was over 2 years old when they became obvious. The physio says that things stretch and sometimes never go back to how they were. However, there's lots you can do to strengthen and build the surrounding muscles, so def go see a physio.
