I'm embarrassed to say my husband and I only just recommenced having sex 6 months after the birth of our DD, for many reasons, both physical and emotional.
And it hurt.
I had a second-degree tear, but it took about 3 months to feel anywhere near normal again.
And upon closer inspection I found a small 'hole' towards the bottom of my stitches - like the skin has healed but there is a tiny tiny hole in the middle, only visible when the skin of my inner labia is 'stretched' between the fingers - saw a GP (woman) who said she hadn't seen that before, but it wasn't something that needed attending to and shouldn't cause any pain or problems.

Anyway, back to the pain. It was painful, mainly with deeper penetration.
What's the deal? What could be wrong? Will I need surgery?

I know, I need to see a doctor. Just looking for support from someone who has been through the 'painful sex after childbirth' thing. Doesn't seem to be very common - not after 6 months.
I just thought maybe it was because we'd waited so long.... so things felt tight again... or something.
