    Post birth-something hanging out-WARNING TMI

Ok ladies, I need some advice!
I had bub nearly 5wks ago, it was a hard long labour, episiotomy, big baby also.
I have been sore as expected, but only looked yesterday with a mirror. I have noticed that I have something not so much hanging out, but at the opening of my vagina, like my insides are coming out! Well not that bad, it is only reasonably small, but it is there, it could have been there since birth but because I have only worked up the courage to look now, it is bugging me. I am not in pain, I wouldn't have even known. I have my 6wk check next Friday, should I go sooner? Has anyone else had this happen? I really don't know what to think. I know it is not my bladder, could it be my cervix?

    Thanks everyone

If it was me i would try and get into the Dr, it can't hurt to go in and double check and then still go for your 6wk check next week.

Hope everything is ok, i am not sure what it could be.

are you sure that it is not just swelling and bruising? i remember when i saw down there for the first time i was shocked at how 'bulbous' everthing looked...almost inside out style. or is it definitely 'inside' tissue that you can see and touch?

have you tried looking in the mirror while doing your pelvic floor to see how it moves? maybe that could give you more idea of where the 'bits' are from?

i reckon that if you are concerned, give your OBs office a call and ask for advice...

Thanks girls, I have booked to see the Dr tomorrow. It is just annoying me that I know it is there! It could be all normal but I don't know. I will soon find out. Hopefully it is not serious!

It could be scar tissue from the Epi.
