abdomanal pains since giving birth

Hi, I've had bad pains in my abdoman (sp?) since giving birth almost 5 months ago. It's a sharp pain which usually causes me to double over. Sometimes it makes me feel faint & I need to hold onto something to stay upright, other times I feel it there & it's painful, but not painful enough for me to double over or anything.
It usually last about 30-60 seconds at a time & can happen several times a day but some days only once or twice.

I went to the doctors last week & he has booked me in for a pelvic u/s this Thurs. I also have to get in to do a urine sample soon.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what it is?
