    Really heavy AF after baby?

Hellooo.. yes.. have discovered the joy again of really heavy AF. Not since I was a teen (and then put on the pill) have I had them this heavy. Last night i woke up at 3.30am to discover a leak - omg - how embarrassment - haven't had this happen since I was a teen!!! (So btw, if anyone knows how to remove blood off a new white mattress, would greatly appreciate any ideas!)

Has this happened to anyone else? They were fine after I had DS and now after DD .. I can feel it running out of me (its GROSS)..

I'm thinking of going to the doc though....

sorry for TMI.. but I love yas... so you get the pleasure of knowing.. hehe

As for the matteress i just got out the warm soapy water and that seemed to work - but lucky for me my accident wasnt too big!!

    You're welcome! hehe

Yeah I'm getting the period pain too - and didn't get that either since I went on the pill and didn't get it between having DS and falling pregnant with DD.. most bizarre.. even ovulating hurts!!

Warm soapy water huh.. will have to try it!

    It sucks doesn't it?

I was the same, AF was way worse after bub #2. It went back to normal after DS1, but decided to pay out on me after DS2 .

    Hope it passes quickly!

I'm the same too Mel. I have been getting the ovulation pains too, quite badly actually! I've never had O pain. And the period pain, omg! I haven't had aches and pains like that for years! And I'm a grumpy b!tch! Poor DH. I was sooo counting on AF not returning til at least when DS went onto solids, but no! Came back after 9wks... with a vengence!

mel - try to get as much of the actual stain out with cold water first - just plain water on a cloth - warm water will alter the blood protein and can actually help it to set in the fabric!

can't offer anything else - hope the pain settles soon hun...

always better to blot on a mattress rather than scrub - you want to draw the stain out, not rub it around... sorry hunny - i was sleeping at 6am - bad night here!

do you get good light through one of your windows? maybe throw the room open to sunlight and see how it goes! will dry it out and hopefully bleach it as well...

Definately happened to me, its terrible... I thought mine were heavy before... I now bleed 5 days solid, then 2 days of spotting.

I was gonna say the sun. Apparently lemon juice or vinegar are natural bleachers (bleachers? lol YKWIM) but I haven't tried it before.
Hmmm, google thinks a little hydrogen peroxide should do the job.... lol

Mel, I only got AF last month and ****, I went through a super tampon and a pad in at least half an hour, I kid you not.
It happened on the day I had to go for DS's christmas concert and I ended up having to leave.
I just got AF again a couple of days ago and it seems a little lighter. I have never had such heavy flow before.
I had a c/s with Bella, u think that maybe it's cause of that????

    Dunno Sue... dunno... maybe?

I just wish it would go back to normal.. maybe I should get pregnant again

    haha!

    Noooooo...... just kiddin...

And moving the mattress to near the window - god would have to move a truck load of crap out of the way for that to happen - heavy crap.. lol... hmm.. I'll keep thinking...

I found that post partum and as long as I was breastfeeding, my periods were really, really heavy and quite painful. They didn't really get back to normal until I stopped breastfeeding. And (wah!) I got my first pp-AF six weeks after each baby. No lactational amenorrhaea for me, worst luck!
