Return of AF 4 weeks after giving birth?

is it possible for me to have AF return only 4 weeks after giving birth, when I am bfing?? I didn't think it was, but what I am experiencing is almost exactly like AF.
I had a normal VB, and stopped bleeding approx 7-10 days afterwards. I have had a small brown discharge, old blood, since. Some days it has barely been any.
Over the last 3 days, I have had a bright red discharge, much like a period.
I am not having any pains, although I don't have period pain anyway. It's not ridiculously heavy, but I am having to change pads more often.
It also is not more noticeable after feeds... its pretty much the same throughout the day.
Tiny tiny clots everyso often, but I also can have clots during my period.
I don't feel unwell at all, so this is why I am confused. I am planning on keeping an eye on it, and if It goes on for longer than a week, at the same rate, Going back to the doc.

Is this all normal? has this happened and NOT been retained placenta or anything like that?
After such a kick butt birthing experience, I would hate to have to be operated on just because I have some floaties in my uterus! hehe

Sorry Squishee, I have no idea! Didn't want you to think we were ignoring you!! I didn't get AF back until DS was about 6 monthsish from memory - and he was FF from 3 months. Can you give the midwives at the hosp or your OB a call and ask the question?
