    Yucky Smell

Simple question a bit TMI though....

In the last couple of days I have noticed that my locia has become a brownish colour which I believe is normal however it is quite smelly and really embarrassing.

    Is this normal??

No pain, itchiness, or fever. I am feeling very well.

I don't know if that sounds right.... Maybe you have an infection? I'd probably have that checked out sooner rather than later just to be on the safe side.

Definitely get this checked out as bad smell is a sign of infection. You may need a course of antibiotics. Hope it gets better soon!

Yes I'd advise you to get it checked out too.

    Hi there,

Just wondering how you went with this?

I gave birth to my DD last week and think i have a similar thing. I mensioned it to my midwife today who said there is a distinct smell to it and said i just have to make sure theres no bright red bleeding, which there isnt. Im not sure as to if what im smelling from the lochia is normal or not.

Did you see your GP about this?

Kell, an infection smells like tinned sardines. go to the GP if the middie is not doing anything about it because it does need ABs
