Probably also worth giving your body a rest for a while - hormonally, you have been having pretty serious changes going on for the last couple of years, you have had an implant in and out since having DD2, other medical issues including the gall bladder...

It doesn't have to be like this. A good naturopath and/or TCM doctor versed in hormonal balancing can help.

Annnnd it's over! And the pain is gone. Well, not gone, but it's so bearable and mild, and was only this morning. I don't think I've ever had a 4 day bleed! So, first AF in 19 months summed up: way less blood, way less time, way more pain.

Glad that it's over for you - I'm only just jumping in on this one, but my second AF's after birth were like that, the first were more spotting, but when the second one came, OMG! Hope all is well next time for you!

I had the same happen after having my DD2. First five or six AFs were so hellish that I thought about going for a hormonal contraceptive (previously sworn off!) to see if it helped. This last one has been totally bearable though, she's 19 months, so I think it's maybe my 6th or 7th cycle? I don't know whether time has been a healer or... my other totally crazy theory... it's an epic amount of junk food I've been having over the last month. (crayzeeee, right?) I'm usually a pretty "clean" eater, but this last cycle I stayed with my MIL, who worships canned, frozen and otherwise preserved food, and who I think is trying to fatten me up. I don't think I'll try it again though.

Yep, I got mine back when dd3 was about 18months and it was horrid. I was barely able to move without being in pain, painkillers didn't work either. Every month since then they have been horrid. I would spend days on the lounge or in bed, most days I couldn't stand up either.
I ended up changing my birth control, which has helped heaps, so far the pain is less and a lot of other pains seem to have lessened or disappeared too.

    Re: Bedridden during period?

Endo is a such funny thing. Pain can be excruciating one month, then nothing for six months. It can also come on suddenly, as many of us have endo and have no symptoms and then suddenly, whammo! We know about it!
The pain and severity of pain is also not always indicative of how severe the disease is: eg. I had my worst pain when it was minor endo before my first lap, and now I have more moderate endo, I have no pain. So if this is what it is, you may only have a tiny speck of it! They say to leave it unless it interferes with everyday life, pain or infertility if you are TTC. It's a mysterious condition that they are still learning a lot about.
I found that a good specialist helped me, as the advice I was getting from GP's and OB's was not always accurate and outdated, and unnecessarily worrying. The specialist really shed light on things.
Are you in Melbourne? I can recommend someone if you need a name? He's the known guru and is leading a lot of the global research around endo. It's not such a scary thing when you talk to a good specialist who sees it all the time - when I had an emergency lap, the Gyno and specialist came out of surgery looking very worried, saying they could not operate and it was in a spot that if removed could affect my bladder and would surely affect my fertility. My specialist then took one look at the photos and said "that's easy peasy! We'd have that out in 20 minutes, I see it every day!" So don't worry too much if this is what it ends up being
Hopefully you've just had a big yucky heavy period and next month will be back on track!
Take care, and lots of TLC! Xxx
    I would recommend accupunture
