    Unhappy Really bad cramps?

Okay, well I've always suffered terrible period pain. I remember in year 12 I almost missed an exam because of my period pain and even last year before falling pregnant I was still have 'don't want to get out of bed' issues.

The dreaded AF arrived yesterday (this is the the fourth time now) and I feel like I am in pre-labour . I don't have the low and dull cramping as per normal it feels like everything is being twisted really tight. It's like a stabbing sensation.

In one sense it's better than my usual period cramps because I don't feel like I can't do anything, (bending over especially) which is usual, but it's so different and it really hurts; especially to breastfeed.

    Is this normal?

ETA: for three days beforehand (and still now), I had really bad vertigo, nausea and dizziness (which I was hoping was m/s, but alas no luck). Is this likely to be cause by low blood pressure or possibly low haemoglobin (I am possibly still slightly anaemic) or both?

Yeah often times it has to do with the iron levels just before. I found my periods were all over the place after having my girls. Both times.... I've only had 5 af's since finishing bf and they are 14 day cycles the last 2 horrible things.

I HATE AF now that it has returned after BF'ing. It is all over the place and seems more painful than pre-DS#2.

I'm not sure if I should share this because I don't want to freak you out, but I had an extremely painful AF in Dec '06, it felt like pre-labour pains too. It eventually ended and I went on with things, but 2 weeks later I had another bleed and it turns out I was actually pg, but was miscarrying. I hope this isn't the case with you, but just wanted to let you know in case you have any further probs.

I hope you feel better soon .

    Thanks Trish & Christy.

Trish - I was wondering. None of my other AF's since birth have been this bad. They have only been marginally better than pre-baby but this is awful. I had a faint BFP almost three weeks ago every test since has shown nothing.

P.S - Trish that pic of Kieran!

Aww, sorry you're still in pain today . Could you go to your GP to get a BT done?

P.S - Thanks for your comment on Kieran's picture . We both have gorgeous little men .
