i had the implanon back in 2002 and it was horrid!
bled for 6 weeks straight, and the worst acne! had it removed after 6 months.
I get really bad headaches on the pill and had to take the lowest dose possible microgynon 20 i think it was so that i didnt get the headaches.
but i honestly dont want to go back on it again . I have been off contraception for 2.5 years almost now and i guess now that we have finished our little family i need to think of something else.
The Depo and Implanon are both hormonal. From your post I understand that you dont want a hormonal contraception? You can get IUDs that have no hormonal aspect and can be left in for years.
I you do get the Depo and it doesnt work for you you are stuck with it for 3 months, the implanon can be removed at any time.
From what you are saying I think an IUD that is hormone free would be the best option. Good luck hun.
An IUD could be an option. Even a hormonal one has very low doses, such as the Mirena so could be an option. Or if you are sure your family is finished then there is always the snip if you can convince your DH.
Mel - we have discussed it, and we both agreed we are finished. DH says he will but i know he doesnt want to 'just in case'. i dont want to keep pushing and i understand. i mean it is his body.
have you used the IUD? does it really have a string that hangs down?
