In cases like this I always keep in mind that God's intervention continues after death. I have no doubt that that man's grave is very, very uncomfortable.
I watched Serial Killer Sunday on Foxtel last night ( i had recorded it) and it was about this Pakistani serial killer who killed 100 homeless boys in 147 days.
When he gave himself up, he argued his case by saying that "i must've have done anything wrong because God did not stop me. If God wanted me to have stopped killing them, he would have"
I was having a discussion with a colleague at work and he thinks that God isn't intervening as much as He should.
Do you think God is intervening enough in evil or bad situations?
Satan is here, so there is going to be evil done no matter how much God intervenes, is my argument.
I hope this makes sense.

My religion believes that Satan is in control of this world, not Jehovah. So, I guess my answer would be no, Jehovah doesn't intervene enough - but He does what He can at this point in time. My faith tells me that He will rectify everything bad when His times comes, and so I wait for that![]()
I was thinking a similar thing when I watched Oprah yesterday, it was about a young girl who was sexually molested and brutally raped all her young life by her father. She eventually snapped and shot him while he was sleeping and then SHE went to prison for 18yrs.
The story just went from bad to worse I thought where was God in all this?
I don't think it is possible to understand the workings of God. However I don't believe that the "system" would work properly if God intervened all the time. That is the whole point of Free Will. I also don't believe that Satan/Evil is an equal but opposite force. Satan is a parasite... not an independent entity. Satan wants us to believe that he is equal to, if not more powerful than God, but it's never going to convince me. Satan is a fallen angel... good gone wrong. Life on Earth ATM is "good gone wrong" and I suspect God knew this would happen. It's a bit like when sometimes you have to let people learn something for themselves... they benefit from making a mistake. As a society we will only grow by allowing people to make mistakes. I know that many people might say "geeze 100 deaths is a bit much to be simply labeled "a mistake" but who knowsonce we get to (if we get to) the Heaven dimension maybe we will understand... we will know why it had to be allowed to happen.
So what I suspect is going on is that God is allowing us humans to become divine by choosing of our own free will to follow his lead and become like him. If God kept intervening we wouldn't make that conversion. Our souls need to get there by themselves. Satan claims that it isn't possible... God has to allow us to prove Satan wrong.
When I read about stories like this killer I do wonder if they have a mental illness. I don't really believe in possession but I think that some people have a brain chemistry prone to coming to strange and tragic conclusions. It would be sadder still if a healthy soul gets drawn into his evil by perpetuating it by killing him in the same manner. That, I don't think, is what God would want at all... he would hope that we would rise above it.

God gives free will, that's why man does what man does. If God were suddenly to start intervening, we would become robots and not have free will anylonger.
