Did anyone else see this? Gee it was fascinating. Similar to The Abbey (on Compass last year) this is the story of 6 people (3 believers, 3 non-believers) who have gone off to spend a month at an Islamic retreat centre in Spain. Apparently they practice "classical Islam" which (to me an outsider) appears to be based on seeking a direct mystical experience (there is lots of chanting etc involved).

Last night's ep covered the first 10 days or so of the retreat. It is very interesting seeing how people react by entrenching themselves further into their habitual coping-behaviours...one guy keeps intellectualising everything, and another woman is quibbling with the retreat practices and whether they adhere to the "law" as set down by the Prophet.

Would love to know if anyone else is following and what you thought of it.
