    Question help please.....

my bros g/f recently had a m/c, she should have been 12 weeks but stopped growing at 6-7wks.
she started bleeding and having cramps, ended up in hospital having an ultrasound, they told her shae was m/cing.
after ultrasound she went to toilet in the hospital and passed what she thought was the foetus, the hospital sent her home.
her follow up appointment was sometime last week, she told doctor she was still bleeding and cramping, he said that was normal and nothing to worry about just yet.
She has rung me this evening because she is rather worried, over the last 24-48 hours she has been passing lots of clots, which she says look like what she passed at the hospital, with a whitish bubble(?) around them, different to any normal period like clots anyway, also she said they smell funny like feet.
she has an appointment to have another ultrasound this tuesday, which i assume is to check for remaining tissue?
i had a m/c 2 wks before her, i had a d&c though, so my experience is quite different to hers, i am worried about her and told her to go to hospital immediately if she developed a fever or intense pain.
is this normal? your opinions would be greatly appreciated...
she started bleeding last fri night and passed what she thought was foetus on sat night.
    thankyou.

First of all - very sorry for your loss and your bros gf. It's a totally crap thing to happen especially to two people in same family. I'm not sure what is normal cause I've heard so many different stories. There are girls though who take weeks to stop bleeding after a m/c. I had a D & c and didn't even bleed for one day I guess I was a bit lucky if you can call it that. I would suggest that if she's at all worried or in pain that she goes to a doc because they should be able to help her rather than have her and you guys worrying.

Sorry to hear about the losses you and your brothers g/f have just been through I too am not sure what is called "normal" i Have had three m/c's and didnt have a d & c for any. I bled for a week after the 2nd two but with my first it was 2 - 3 weeks and the dr said it was because i was carrying twins that i bled for longer, but apparently(after speaking to another dr) i should have had a d & c. I would also suggest that she go and see a dr or go to hospital to be checked. At least if everything is normal it will put her mind at ease. Hugs to both of you

So sorry for both your lossses, it is tough and you will both get through this and something that you can talk to each other about.
My advice would be to get to the doc as soon as poss. I don't like the sound of the smelling funny..... Could be an infection. If her temp goes up go straight away.

Hope you are both OK and please take care of yourselves and DP's.

just wanted to say thankyou for your concern and support guys.
just to update you, she was admitted to hospital as it seems the embryo is actually stuck in her cervix and has adhered itself to her cesarean scar which is why its not expelling itself.
she is losing lots of blood, they dont want to do a d&c as the risk of her haemorraging is too high, she has lots of blood in her uterus for some reason.
the docs are saying they want to inject her with a drug that they give cancer patients to deteriorate the cells so she can pass it naturally.
she wanted surgery but they wouldnt do it, so have sent her home till next week, if she hasnt totally miscarried by next thursday they will do the op.
i can not believe it!! i dont understand why they didnt just give her a bloody d&c to start with!!

hello, thanks again niass for your information and kind words.
my Bros gf has now had about 3 different docs opinions and she is noe definately going in for the d&c on thursday.
I just hope that everything goes alright, she is convinced she is going to die under the anaesthetic!
