Dory where are you with your news.... ? ? ? We're busting to hear all the details! Hope everyone is well.
Dexy Not long to go for you. You must be getting excited about the time drawing nearer.
Jen How are you doing? Is that M/S dissapeared now?
AFM I am slowly getting better from the flu etc, but now my belly is slowly getting unsettled with the hcg rising. Speaking of hCG at 3w6d we were at 558.2 and then at 4w5d we were at 5267. I have had a look at Normal High and Low hCG Pregnancy Hormone Levels | BabyMed.com and my levels seem a little high. I am glad they are high and not low. I will request another test next week, and then the week after that we have U/S booked where we will hopefully see a healthy heartbeat and a little tiny bubba bigger than a ball of cells lol... my doc said that the hCG results put us around 6 weeks... so that is good for being only 4w5d... !
Hope you are all well
Hugs to all

Hey guys, just popping in briefly before I go to bed - WE HAVE THE INTERNET CONNECTED!!! I'm so excited, loving being able to get on whenever I want now lol.
Anyway, I had a bleed on wednesday last week - woke up with approx 2tspn's of bright red blood accompanied by regular cramping, so rushed to hospy and had to wait 6 hours before I was seen. Finally got in to have a scan and bub was doing ok, thank god! Even put it's fingers in it's mouth for us just to let us know everything was going good.
No sign of where the bleed came from - as it was with the spotting I'd had previously - but we had been to the Melbourne Show the day before and I'd overdone it a bit with the walking and we didn't get home until after midnight as the V-Line trains weren't running from Flinders St, so the stress of waiting for a bus to take us to Pakenham so we could get on the train there and then having to wait 45mins for the train to leave Pakenham probably contributed as well.
Everything is good now - on couch rest until the 6th when I see the midwife again (I was in emergency when I was supposed to be having my first midwife appointment, and luckily the midwife was able to come down to emergency to see me so we got all the basic stuff done, just have to do some other paperwork now and book into the hospital).
So I'm just crampy and achy and have a pinched nerve in my back that is making it hard to sleep, just taking panadol as often as I'm allowed as that seems to help a little bit.
Anyway, I must go as I'm exhausted and need to get some sleep.
Hope you're all doing ok!
Hi Jen, glad to hear everything had a happy outcome. Its always scary when things like this happen, regardless of the activity we have been up to. Take it easy ok.
Dexy how are you going? About 23 days to go... not long now! Have you everything ready?
Dory we're waiting to hear your goss... :D Hope your settling in well with bubs and your getting heaps of rest. Look forward to having you back online!
AFM I have been so tired lately. Last night I went to bed about 6:30pm and I got up at about 8am this morning. I took it very easy on the couch with the kids watching movies today and went to bed again just before DH came home at 4:00 to sleep for another 4 hours... I am feeling really ill today, which is good in one way because the other morning when I woke up, I had no symptoms at all. I got my hcg results that morning which was a blessing to have. It's really unusual because they say that usuually women will feel worst in the morning upon awakening but this when I feel the best. As the day goes on the worse I feel. I swear DH is sick of hearing me say "Babe... I don't feel well" Yes dear" he says... poor man. He puts up with a lot as I am not shy in telling him constantly that I am feeling sick. He just says "Thats good" thinking if I am not well, obviously things are progressing well... He is making me some choc chip muffins at the moment (drools) we have a special way of making them, we had banana to the recipe, so I hope I can eat that without feeling like I need to bring it back up again. I think if I was to physically be sick it might relieve me of the symptoms. Wishful thinking??
hCG numbers are 3w6d - 558.2, 4w5d - 5267, 5w3d - 22869
Having another hCG test early next week, I asked the doctor if he thinks they are a little high for my dates but he is similiar to my way of thinking and told me not to worry unless they are low. We have dating scan on Fri when I will be 6w6d by my dates... can't wait. There is all this talk about twins and I am getting very anxious to make sure there is only the one heartbeat... !
Take care everyone,
Love and Hugs to all
Danni
Danni - your HCG results are awesome! Mine at around 6wks were only somewhere around 15,701! You've got one really sticky little bubba in there... I wouldn't be suprised if it turns out that there is 2 or 3 in there lol And the tiredness is normal too, I start getting drowsy around 4pm, and I'm normally the one who stays up until 1am before heading to bed and then stays up for another hour or 2 with insomnia lol
I was almost right about Dory making it to 41wks too lol except she beat me to it by having the c-section booked in, clever clever girl :) I hope she's enjoying her time with her little girl. I got so happy and excited when I saw her BA that I cried!
Anyway, I really must go to bed, I'm really really really tired and almost falling asleep at my desk.
Have a good night darl :)
Hiya!
Gem - those levels are awesome! Sorry you're feeling sick, but it is a good sign... I think we tell ourselves that to make it bearable. A scan in less than a week... awesome!
Jenna - look at you - 14 weeks now. How are you feeling? And thanks for crying about the BA... I did too.
Dexy - hope you're going well.
Little blossom is waking up and I am going to go and feed/change/nurse/love her. I had a bit more sleep last night and DH settled Hannah at 10pm when she had a lot of wind. DH managed to put me to sleep too. What a star. So, today looks much better with a bit more sleep. Hannah bear is getting more serious now, so I am off.
Oh, I wrote up our birth story in my blog if you're interested.
Love to you all. And belly rubs for those sticky bubbas.
:crying: DORY Thats enough, no more crying... I need a new box of tissues. You have written a beautiful birth story and, aside from all the tears, I enjoyed reading it. Thank you for sharing your story with us, but please, I am so emotional right now... No, really I am just so happy for you. You are doing a fantastic job in your new role. You make a wonderful Mummy. You have a wonderful DH to help you with settling Hannah at the nights. Has Hannah settled into the nights a little better? How did your shopping adventure go today??? Oh and I love your new ticker too :D
Dexy how are you doing dear?
Jen how are you?
AFM I found something that helps relieve me of MS... BBQ chicken... as soon as I put it in my mouth, my belly feels instantly better... strange! So it's been chicken sandwiches all round today. I know we have to be careful with chicken, but honestly, if it helps my sickness without needing medication, surely keeping to fresh chook can't be too bad. I won't eat it after a day though.
Sleeping, sorry Dory but it seems I am doing your share of sleeping lately. Friday night I think it was, I went to bed about 6:30pm after feeling quite ill. I slept through till about 8:30 the next morning. I feel great in the mornings but start to feel sick as the day progresses. I was in bed again by about 4pm that afternoon. Slept for about 4 hours then got up and finished watching a movie with DH. Then back to bed about midnight and slept for another 9 hours or so... I am just so tired. I have been yawning my head off today too.
Hope everyone is doing fine.
BBQ Chicken! That's awesome Dan! ROTFL!
Little tired too by the sounds of it! Rest us lovely one - You have the golden ticket! Eeeekkkk!
HCG's look fantastic too! I refer to them as the 'magic' numbers ;-)
Dory - Left a post on your blog gorgeous girl. So very very excited for you & looking forward to hearing all about Hannah's journey's!
Jen - Hope you managed to find a bed rather than falling asleep at your desk! Lol
AFM - Feeling great. Really trying to slow down thou, I always 'talk' about it & somehow it never happens! Friends & family keep telling me I need to take it easy & honestly, they are right... I'm just too go-go for my own good. BUT I have no plans of leaving the house this week except for a gigantic grocery shop & my check up appointment on Thursday evening.
I'm getting checked weekly just to make sure that pre-eclampsia doesnt make an appearance & if it does we catch it quickly. (Both my mother & sister also had it with both of their pregancies too) It was very sudden with my previous pregnancy, not a major major issue compared to most. But enough that I was induced within 48hours of my first blood pressure spike as it came along with all the other classic symptoms. Better safe than sorry!
But yes in true Dexy form, I'm a nerd & I have a blood pressure monitor at home! Lol! I mentioned to mum that 'maybe' I should hire one from the chemist, just incase I felt the need to use it & then.... Mum pulled one out of her bloody cupboard! So I guess I get my well prepared ways from her :-)
Baby is still super active, quite often takes my breath away moving about in there. But we are head down & ready to go! Or at least I am...
Well, enough from me - Love to each of you & your babies!!!
Dexy x
Hi everyone, just stopping in briefly, sorry I haven't been posting much lately, but have been sick and super tired and by the time I finish what I need to do on FB I'm usually too tired to get on here.
afm - anyway, had my midwife appointment this morning. Went well, but the poor midwife tried for 20 minutes to find bub's heartbeat with the doppler and couldn't find it, and it was rather painful as she digging it in and it was pinching my skin and stretching my c-sec scar, so she had to get another midwife in and she found bub's heartbeat within 2 minutes. So amazing to be hearing it at only 15wks 2d!
Only thing I'm disappointed about is that I now have to wait until 22wks before I get my morphology scan and can find out if bub is pink or blue :( I was hoping it would only be 3 weeks until we found out, but now I have to wait 7 looooooong weeks!
Hope everyone else is doing ok :)
Jenna - sorry to hear you're so sick and tired. Get all the rest you can... but you know that :) How is DS? He turns 2 this year.. bet you wonder where that 2 years has gone? I am glad you got to hear bubs heartbeat, but it must have been hard during the time it took to find it..even if you're strong with yourself, I find my mind would always go down a particular path if things took longer than I thought they should. The next 7 weeks will seem like ages, but then you'll be into the "20's" - how very cool - over half way there.
Dexy looking forward to hear your news soon. I hope everything works out well for you and the blood pressure stays just fine. Fancy your mum having one in her cupboard... lol Finally taking some rest I hear, thats great... I bet you have spent the week preparing for baby instead of resting... ! Hope your appointment goes well today too. Your getting closer and closer...
Jen that would have been hard waiting for the HB to be found. I can't remember how far along you had to be before they could start to hear with the doppler, maybe it is still very early. Pitty you have to wait 7 weeks for your next scan. I thought it was bad enough waiting until tomorrow, I booked the appointment about 3.5 weeks ago lol. Maybe if your concerned they might give you another scan for reassurance. Why did they want to leave it until 22 weeks? Seems a little long to keep a pregnant lady waiting doesn't it?
Dory hope everything is going well with your little bundle of joy. Miss having you in here all the time to chat. I was only joking when I said that's enough :D I love to read about your journey.
AFM Well where to start, ok, so yesterday I thought I would venture out with the kids (it's their last week of holidays) I took them to lunch with my mum and I was going to do something with them afterwards but I felt so sick. I had something to eat and struggled to keep it down, bought a drink and couldn't drink it. Mum just looked at me and said, don't do it on me. But I didn't do it, and I still haven't. I left feeling quite ill, I had a few other things I had to do so I did that and afterwards I decided to call into the shops to get some cordial to try. I hadn't been drinking hardly anything so I needed to find some way for me to drink. I decided to call into the chemist and I said to the lovely lady behind the counter. "My doc told me not to take anything for M/S, but I really really need something". "Your not prgenant are you"? She asks.... Ahhhh well i'm not sure why anyone would have "Morning Sickness" if they are not pregnant I thought. "Yes I am pregnant" I replied. She got one of the other peoples to help me. I finally got my hands on some tablets that are used for travel sickness. I took one when I got home and felt so much better.
While I was at the shops I found a new friend, we have spent every moment together since we met at the shops. Been so helpful to me has this new found friend. Comforted me and stayed with me and is with me right now as we type. My new friends name is Raspberry Cordial. :D
I spoke with my doctor the other night, he rang me to give me the results of my hcg levels. I think he wanted to reassure me himself that everything is just fine as I rang last week and questioned the hcg levels suggesting that they may be a little high. He gave me the numbers for my last test which was 71,770 @ 6w3d, surprisingly wasn't as high as I thought it might have been, but thats because the doubling time has stretched out a little now to 4 days. It is still off the charts in comparison. I know people suggest it could be that I am further along than I thought etc but I have the date of the last AF, so unless I O'd within about a week of last AF I don't see how I could be further along.
Anyways we are going for our scan tomorrow, actually they just rang me to confirm the appointment, "Yes, I am looking forward to it" I told her! Mum told me last night that she wants me to ring her right away after the scan to tell her. "Tell you what" I asked. "Tell me if it is twins" she said. "Oh right, for a moment I thought you wanted to know the sex, which we won't know for quite some time" LOL all this talk about twins has DH shaking in his boots, I keep telling myself, and him, it is not twins. But like I said to him, I can't just take one back if it is twins lol So yes I am looking forward to the scan tomorrow and going by my hcg levels I assume that I will be seeing a little tiny heart beat - and just the one of them would be just lovely :D
Anyway thats enough rambling from me, I hope everyone is doing just fine. Belly Rubs to everyone, and you too Dory, your belly doesn't want to feel left out :D
Danni
Just thought I would drop by quickly and let you know how I got on with our scan today. So...
Our scan went really really quickly. I got there about 30 mins early because I hate being in the car with a full bladder. After spending a few moments at the reception I walked down to the waiting room and was called in within a minute. I was out again in about 10 minutes. But the waiting room went from being just me to being full by the time I came out... So anyways, the important stuff bubs is doing well. There is only the one in there. I know I am getting a little far ahead of myself but for ease I call our little one bubs or he/his (hoping for boy) He looks like a little blob lol but bigger than just a grain of rice though hehe. He measures 2 days further along but we are keeping the dates the same. He looks like he has a halo in one of the pictures they gave me, perfect little one already He is 11.3mm long and by the looks about 7mm wide lol and his HB was 153bpm. It bought a tear to my eye to hear the HB, it was a very emotional moment for me and DH was stoked to hear the HB and so relieved to see just the one little bubs in there It's been a wonderful day for us today.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Danni
Gem - that is just awesome. Well done on your scan results. I chreish that first u/s pic we have of Hannah ( and in fact all of our wee ones) but it's so amazing to look at it and then realise that little miss Hannah started out like that. In just a few short months ( ha) you will be making the same comparison. Too funny about your mum not wanting you to puke on her. I found a m/s supplement helped me - has ginger and vit b's in it. i also love raspberry cordial and I drank a lot of peppermint tea and chomped on ginger lollies. It seemed to help.
Now I am laughing I was about to say only about 6 weeks of m/s to go ( and I think another 3 weeks is soooooo long away - when Hannah will be 6 weeks and people say things settle down around here).
Take care and belly rubs.
Dexy - I am so proud of you. Can't wait - could be any day now, or another 3 weeks away! What sort of plans do you have for the birth?
Howdy Gals!
How are we all?
Gem, so stoked your scan went so well! & shed as many tears as you like love. I'm sure your juggling plenty of emotions all at the one time. Great heart rate too - How perfect I'm sure 'bubs' is :) & Rasberry cordigal! YUM! Only got ur PM a few days ago too, but I have replied to it now - Yeah... I'm special! Lol!
Dory! Hows motherhood darling one? Treating you kindly I hope... & beautiful Hannah, how is she getting along? Oooh & DH - How is he going??? How is he finding fatherhood? Busting to know what fills your days now!
Jen, bummer you have to wait to find out the sex! I hope time flys for you & hope your feeling much better too. Sorry to hear about the midwife scenario too... Not crash hot at all, but thank goodness another came along & saved the day.
AFM - Waiting, waiting, waiting... Far too organised for my own good. I have NOTHING left to do but wonder! Tuesday I had BHicks on & off - Then nothing. Tonight I had a good hour of constant menstrual type cramping & a few sharp twinges. Nothing to bounce off the walls about, but its nice to know 'something' is happening down there... Perhaps my darling cervix is effacing ready for the main event. Everyone has continually said that they think I will go early, but so far - No go! But thats fine, things will happen in good time. I'm pumped that my BP has reamined perfect :) That was my biggest concern since I really am hoping for as least medical intervention as possible for the little ones arrival. After a super painful, out of control induction with DS I would love for things to be as 'normal' as possible this time round. Another check up on Monday but I am confident that all will be well.
Boy or Girl question is driving me bonkers now! I'm soooo curious, it's a killer.
Guess I'm only thinking about it so much cos I have too much time on my hands now!
Will pop back soon - Love to all x
Dexy I am soooooooooo excited for you and hoping I haven't missed the big day yet. Things going well here -we are all adjusting to our new realities.... DH is truly a star and Hannah is adorable. Confounding but adorable. It's a labour intensive...lol re my pun. Good luck with bubs arrival and soon you will know pink or blue.
Thanks Dory - Think I need luck! He / She is taking their time arriving! Everyone had picked a date they expected & all have passed but 2
Clairvoyant said 20 / 22 - DH said 2/3 days past due so that would be Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
Booked for a check up Monday & guess we will just cross any bridges as we get to them!
So glad to hear you guys are doing well & I bet Hannah is adorable! Squeeze her from me! x x x
Will keep you 'posted' Lol
Dexy x!
GL Dexy - thinking of you and your gi normous bump - at 39 weeks, that's all the bump can be!
Hi Ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA, I have been on holiday this week. It came up so fast I didn't realise how quickly time is going by. I hadn't been in much before that because I haven't been in the best of moods. I had a really crappy week last week with being left in the lurch by my doc. I'm still so angry he has done what he has done. I wrote a thread about it last week in this forum somwhere as I needed to vent about it, which really helped but I am still emotional about it. I don't have a GP at the moment, I have a temporary one whom I have seen before on occasions, not sure if I want to continue with this other doc being in the same surgery as my usual GP. Just not sure how I feel about that one at the moment. I have another scan on thursday for reassurance which I am really looking forward to and then the following day I have my ob appointment.
Holiday was awesome and just what we needed. We went fishing for the first 2 days, the first day I caught 6 squid lol not bad for someone who has never caught a thing, but the second day we caught nothing... third day we set up the gazebo on the beach and I sat under the shade and read a book while the kids played in the sand and the water and DH fussing over the kids and coming back to check on me when he needed a break from the sun.
It's quite strange because the sun was out the whole time we were away, but when we come home, it started to get dark and it has been raining for the past hour or two. I am totally exhausted and we are looking forward to sleeping in our own bed tonight.
We found out the other day that we will be moving in about 4 weeks from now, I am looking forward to the bigger house but not looking forward to the moving and cleaning part. Oh well it gives me an awesome excuse to go through everything thoroughly.
Looking forward to hear your lovely news Dexy I was wondering how you were getting on while we were away and if I would get back to read about your wonderful birth news. Glad I haven't missed out :D
Dory how is life treating you? Are you settling into a routine and most importantly is Hannah settling at nights better now? I haven't checked if you have added more to your blog...
Jen how are things going with you? I was thinking just a couple of days before I went away how this morning sickness was starting to ease off, and it did for most of the time I was away but then yesterday it started to come back and I am feeling sick again pretty much all the time. I asked DH does he think it has something to do with the city pollution or something. He thinks it is more mind-over-matter, but I keep telling him I don't wish to be sick so how does that work???
Hope everyone is doing really well, I will be back often to check up on you Dexy :D All the best for the special day... x x x
Danni
Gem - oh wow - your holiday sounds just grand. Glad the m/s held off but sorry it's back. I don't think it's mind over matter.. I didn't want to feel sick either and did. I am not sure anyone wants to feel sick ... except momentarily to get off work. I missed the post about your GP - I am so so sorry. It is not good when you need reassurance to be left adrift.
My world has been turned upside down, but for the better. The reason it appears that Hannah was just so unsettled is that she wasn't getting enough nourishment from me. At 4 weeks she had yet to regain her birth weight and the Paed said it wasn't good enough. Since Tuesday this week have still been BF plus comp feeding each day time feed. And I am on meds to increase supply. It has made a world of difference. Makes me sad to think my poor baby bear was just hungry and hence how hard it was for us. But I am so glad... before was so hard. So very hard. I think I was gradually going to just fall in a heap from physical & mental exhaustion. I was getting maybe 3 hours sleep once a day and then trying like crazy to squeeze in some when I could but i was so anxious I couldn't sleep. I was dependent on DH to settle Hannah after I fed her, just so I could rest. Of course she wouldn't settle but at least I could lie down and listen to her cry instead of being the one to hold her. I know there will be tough times ahead, but oh my, the change has been amazing.
Good luck with your u/s next week. Look at your ticker ticking along....
Dexy - sending you love and strength for the big day. Hope you get the birth you want, but even if you don't, I know you'll be holding your bundle of joy very soon, and missing your angels too whilst gazing in wonder at the new life in your arms. only 2 days to go... in theory..
Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA too, been stalking and reading, but mostly I've been on FB instead of on here.
Dexy - Not long now! Good luck and I can't wait to read your BA :)
Gem - not much happening here, still getting MS most mornings, and in the evenings at the moment as well. Doesn't help that I can't sleep on my left side because of my bad hip/leg, but I'm managing. Just tired and over the constant braxton hicks.
Dory - Oh wow, Hannah is now 1 month old! Time really has flown! Glad you've got everything sorted now, feeding whise anyway, makes a great deal of difference to top up feeds sometimes. There was a lady in my Mothers Group with DS, her son was almost 2 weeks older than mine (he was actually born on my DS's due date lol) and he'd been low birthweight and she was trying so hard to persevere with solely BFing, but he wasn't putting on any weight, and in the end at 4 months old the MCHN told her to try topping up a feed, and it worked wonders for her. She had a bit of PND as well, which didn't help at all.
afm - Just over 2 weeks until I hit halfway!
I have my next midwife appointment on the 27th, can't wait to hear bub's heart beat again. It really is amazing.
Then I have my morph scan on the 3rd, sooooo can't wait for that one, hoping for Pink, and trying to convince myself that I must NOT be disappointed if it's Blue :(
Other than that, as I said above, having almost constant BH's, which are annoying, and usually painful. Had 2 real contractions the other night, but thankfully that was it. Scared the living daylights out of me!
And hubby was diagnosed with whooping cough last weekend, so I'm on precautionary antibiotics (which make me feel queasy in the evenings and first thing in the morning), as is DS, and hubby is on them too and they seem to be working - at least his cough is getting better anyway.
I had the flu pretty bad last week as well, ended up in emergency overnight last thursday with severe dehydration due to me being unable to keep anything down for most of that day. Was frustrating, especially as they were so rushed off their feet and understaffed in there that after my drip was put in the nurse forgot to turn it on, so I was lying there, trying to sleep and thirsty as anything for 2 hours before the nurse came back and realised it hadn't been turned on. Then I only had it on for an hour before they told me I could go home...
The nurse appologised thankfully, but it made it really hard to get any more sleep for what was left of the night. I'm still catching up on all those fluids I lost.
Hope you're all doing well, thinking of you all daily!
Jenna
Wow - poor DH... whooping cough ....DH & I have both had the vaccination for that.. and poor you those meds making it worse for your m/s.
Oh oh very exciting about your morph scan on 3 Nov.... I can understand why you're hoping for a PINKY!
BH can be so annoying. I was having them a lot too and they were painful. My obs says its an old wives tale that they are not painful. Poor you about being in hossy. Don't ever feel guilty, you and your passenger need fluids to be healthy.
About the top up feed - when the MCHN first suggested it, she suggested two top ups of 50mls each and I was so determined to exclusively BF that initially I wasn't going to, but Hannah's wasn't gaining weight as expected. I then thought I would feel terrible if 'my desire to exclusively BF" actually was doing her harm. So then, I thought I'd just do one top up of 50mls. I loathed the idea. But now it seems at least for a while I need to just put Hannah's well being ahead of my desire to exclusively BF.
It's hard not to feel like I have failed her but I am doing all I can. I express after most day time feeds, but I can only get such a tiny amount - less than 10mls for both sides. I don't bother to store it anymore... there a few of containers in the freezer with tiny amounts of milk in them. I hope I will be able to express more in time and be able to top up usual feeds with expressed milk. The formula caper is a lot more hassle than BF!
Anyway, I hope you have a nice weekend, that the m/s goes away AND that DH doesn't need too much care from you. And hopefully those fluids have been topped up, cause you'll feel better.
Dory that is fantastic news, I'm so happy you found out why little Hannah wasn't settling. Don't worry to much about the formula, you are doing the right thing. I didn't have support when I was BF my children and I managed only a couple weeks with my younger two, I managed about 6 weeks with my eldest, but also had major problems with her settling and I had horrible nipples after that, excruciating pain and extremely unsightly. Keep up your fantastic effort Dory, you are truly doing an awesome job. I hope and pray that I can do a better job this time round in the BF department, hoping I will have extra support.
Jen sorry to hear about the whooping cough. I hope with the medication, everything settles down for you. Wow, the 3-11 for your scan... Didn't you say a 6 or 7 week wait for your scan? I know I have been a little confused with time lately, but has it really been that long since you said that or did you have your time changed? I have such baby brain at the moment.
Dexy... whats happening with bubby... :D
Hope everyone is well.
Danni
Gem - you will have my support! And any BF time is better than none. At times when BF seemed impossible, it seemed so hard to continue. It's not always easy but it is easier now most of the time. And I have even been able to express a reasonable amount recently. Today I was mopping whilst expressing. Better than just sitting down when I could be doing housework. I hadn't mopped since I've been home from hossy and thought it was time. I am not really a housework nazi.
Dexy 40 + 1 sweety! Thinking of you.
It's a boy! Tait Aaron arrived at 8:59pm on 25/10 weighing 7pound 14 ounces and just adorable! Will pop back with details once we are home and settled, hiding in Hosp on iPhone at moment! Lol! Love to you all x
Dexy - I am so so very happy for you, your DH and DS. Can't wait to hear your birth story and all about Tait's arrival! Welcome precious Tait, you are much loved, much adored and cherished.
Take care in hospital... I so wish I could visit you.
:happyforyou: Congratulations Dexy, I'm so happy to hear your wonderful news. I hope everything went smoothly for you and I look forward to hear more. Welcome to the world little one :D Oh I have a tear in my eye, such beautiful news to hear. Plenty of hugs for you and your tiny bubs and your DH and DS. Congratulations x x x
:leap:
Checking in on everyone...
Dexy hope things are going really well with you and yours...
Jen how are you going? Haven't heard much from you... hope all is well!
Dory I will hold you to that BF support :D How is Hannah going now? Have those tablets helped with you supply now?
AFM... So much has been going on, I find it hard to keep up with myself lol... Was in hospital the other night with breathing problems, I came out the next day feeling a lot better but have no answers to why I had the syptoms to begin with. They wanted to do tests and they came close to doing them, but I pulled out at the last minute. They wanted to do a chest x ray and a nuclear medicine scan or vq scan which exposes baby to the same amount of radiation as between 5-10 x rays, needless to say why I refused the tests.
On a more positive note, I had a reassurance scan yesterday and bubs is looking great, we could see him wriggling about, moving his hands and legs, he looked like he was trying to do backwards summersaults LOL, measuring 4 days bigger (almost 4cm) HB 163bpm, was really good to see bubs moving around after such a difficult time in the hospital, re-affirms the reasons to our decisions. DH was so happy to see our little one moving about, I think he was feeling even more special because I couldn't see the screen initially and I was watching his face expressions, watching him smile and nod his head affirming everything to be just fine. But I have learned something from that experience yesterday. Never try to eat a BIG chicken burger within half an hour before starting your litre of water to drink, this is what I done. I had a chicken burger at about 2:15 then had to start drinking water at 2:30. I struggled to drink it all and instead of finishing at 3:00, I finished at about 3:10. My appointment was at 4:00 but I got there early as I don't like driving with a full bladder. We sat in the waiting room and ended up getting called in at about 3:40 only to find my bladder completely empty... my burger soaked it up lol. So it wasn't the clearest scan but it told us what we were there to find out anyway.
I had my first ob appointment today which was made up of 2 hours of paperwork and not a great deal of fun lol. Atleast that part is done with now.
So as I recover from MS, breathing probs, bloated belly (I swear I look about 6 months preg already because of bloating and constipation - sorry if TMI lol) Now I have to get to work on getting the rest of this house ready for our move in a few weeks.
Take Care Ladies, hope everyone is doing well, thinking of you!

Awesome news about your scan! Well done littlegem! Bit scary about your trip to the hossy. I have asthma so know how it feels to have breathing probs! I would have refused the test too!
The meds have worked... I can express now .. am doing it now! Hannah is a star... smiling randomly now but sometimes it seems contextual. So content now she is not hungry all the time. I have given her EBM for one top up feeds yesterday and today instead of formul but formula for the others. I feel so lucky that it was simply hunger and easy to fix, rather than something else or just a baby that cried a lot. It was really tough and I think I was not coping very well. Though was slowly just getting used to how hard it was.. glad it's not like that all the time now. Sometimes, but sometimes is bearable.
She is getting over her pimples.. from the hormones in my breast milk and she is now chubby again and feels like she has put on weight. Paed app this Friday.
2 hours is a long time for an app... guess that's why my ob sends it out beforehand, the paperwork. when is your next one?
I can't wait to see mine again... next Tues. I might have an infection in my caesearan wound, just in one spot. Noticed it's red and a bit sore and oozey today.. will keep an eye on it
Too funny about your chicken burger....
oh yuck... moving house... good luck with that....will understand if you're not on bb much!
Dexy - hello to you and your little man Tait.
Jenna - hope all is going well.
:D littlegem... I like it
Good news about the meds, must be a huge relief for you to know that everything will be better from now on.
Yes 2 hours is too long, struggled to contact the kids to let them know we will be late too... made contact with the school eventually, just really didn't think we would be that long. They say to allow 1 and a half hours but it took 2 hours and that was after waiting for about 20 minuted too... grrr nevermind, next appointment is NT U/S scan in 2 weeks 15/11, then U/S at 15 weeks 3/12 for reassurance, then ob appointment on 7/12.
Hope there is no infection in your belly and everything is just fine. Its not causing too much pain is it? I wonder about the recovery of C section, I never had one, it actually scares me to think of needing one (biting finger nails) I have discussed with DH that this time I think I might request the epidural. When my first was born I was totally against it, but after delivering my son, anything has to be better than the experience of that labour. I had full on labour for about 11 hours. So yeh am a little scared about the thoughts of labour, but we have some time before that stage comes...
Yes moving house soon, booked a truck for the 20/11 hope we are up to it by then, me being pregnant and DH injured his back last week, he seems better for the moment, but we'll see.
Dexy and Jenna hope your both doing well, look forward to hear from you soon.
Hi all, haven't been posting for a bit, but have been reading, and stalking.
I would have been on sooner tonight but we didn't get home until 6pm as we had to go to the shops and get some things - I am definately not going to be shopping in Target anytime in the near future! I spent 10 minutes waiting to be served at the layby counter, 5 mins before closing and 5 mins after closing, and still didn't get served so I stormed off swearing my head off lol and then put in a complaint!
Anyway, hubby stole my computer when we got home as his laptop has a virus....
Anyway, had my morphology scan today, and we are having...
A GIRL!!!
At least the sonographer thinks it's a girl as there was no "dangly bits" as he put it lol
Was a very co-operative little bubba, did everything that she was supposed to and gave the sonographer good views of her heart, everything is measuring exactly on dates and she has really long legs - measuring a week ahead! - but she only has a small skull, measuring 2 wks behind but the sonographer said he could have been a bit out in his measurements as her skull is still a bit narrow in width and still needs to do some more growing.
So all in all it's been a good day - and next week I get to go shopping buy some cute little purple things!!! (I can't stand pink... I keep on telling people I only want purple clothes lol)
jenna - excellent news - congratulations on your purple bundle
Oh now I get it LOL I seen Dory's post first saying congratulations about the purple which totally had me confused... now it makes sense lol.... so
CONGRATULATIONS Jen and co
So glad to hear everything went well with your scan. Wow - your half way there Jen... Were you expecting a girl? I was expecting this one to be boy... but now I'm not so sure... maybe because of the responses I get when I ask people what they think... ! We'll see, time will tell. You have probably already mentioned this in the thread but I want to ask when you first started to feel baby move. I have read that it can be anytime between 15-22 weeks, most people I think are actually feeling it closer to the 15 week mark??? It's been so long since I had a little one in my belly that I felt moving around. 15 weeks is going to be a bit hairy for me and mine, so I am hoping we will start to feel movements by then. But my ob told me at my appointment you could have to wait until about 20 weeks. But the sonographer at 20 weeks with Jayden thought I was nuts for thinking that I had to wait that long.... hmmm confusing.... So c'mon help me out here, I thought I felt something the other night, but it must have been just wind.
Dory what were your dates when you started to feel bubs moving... Dexy you too... ? ? ?
Trying to stay positive myself... staying busy with getting ready for the BIG move (well I say BIG but we're only moving a few streets away lol) so yes that helps to keep my mind from less constructive thoughts, but gee its tiring getting everything organised. I was debating with myself weather to continue with another room today or take a rest... Opted for the first choice, just want to get everything done, then relax about it all... so planning to scrub the laundry and kitchen today, and box up what I can. I have done the lounge room and apart from the lounge suite and the tv/cabinet, there is not much else left, it looks so bare... and done the garden yesterday... hi ho hi ho its off to work I go...
Look forward to hear more from everyone...
...until then, take care... !
Thanks guys :)
Gem - I was *hoping* for a girl lol we DTD at the right time even though we didn't plan it that month (Silly me thought I'd O'd early not late lol). So now I'll have one of each, and my little family will be complete (hubby doesn't want any more kids... and he has plans to get the snip after this one's born lol)
I first started feeling this one move at 10 & 1/2 weeks... and everyone tells me I was just feeling gas lol and that it was too early, but it was confirmed during my 12wk scan when I saw it move on the screen and felt it move at the same time lol. Was like a tiny little wriggly feeling just behind my pelvic bone.
With DS I started getting a tickling feeling around 14wks, but didn't realise it was him until 16 & 1/2 weeks at my engagement party when he followed the tickling feeling with a little kick.
I tell you what though, this little girl is sooo much more active than her brother was! I get belted up every day (must be those long legs lol) and she has a fascination with opening and closing her hands, so when I feel her fidgeting in there I'm pretty sure that's what she's up to lol. At this stage with DS I was getting tiny little kicks and bumps, but this little girl goes all out and I can already feel the kicks with my hand... kinda scary when I think about it lol. Was talking to hubby last night and he thinks she's going to be a kickboxer lol could get rather interesting as DS has the rugby tackles and dives down pat already lol
Oh, and it seems the heartreate thing to determine gender was correct for me... DS had a heartrate of around 180 for the entire pregnancy, this one had a heartrate yesterday of 139, and the highest she ever had was 156 at 9wks, so it seems my boys tend to have higher heartrates than my girls lol
Also makes me think that I was right about my first angel being a boy as his heartrate was 189 at 6 & 1/2 weeks, but that could have also been because of his heart issues.
Hope everyone is doing well - won't be long until there is 3 little girls earthside :)
Oh Wow Jen, these fluttery feelings that I have could really be bub, I try not to get to excited about it because I am not real sure, interesting you say about 10.5 weeks too though. I felt it several times the other day and a couple yesterday but I haven't noticed it today, maybe coz I haven't had a moment alone today? I'll see if it happens tonight when I am relaxing as that was what I was doing the first time I noticed it the other day. I told DH what I felt but didn't indicate that it was bubs yet. So now he gently pats and rubs my belly and says hello butterfly :) cute. I hope if it is bubs that it gets stronger quickly as I need all the reassurance I can get. So when my parents and the in-laws ask how things are going I can be reassuring to them too.
Thats interesting what you say about the heart rate. I'm pretty sure I have all these details from my older 3 children somewhere, but I'm not sure which of the "kept for later" boxes it is in. So mostly I am going by memory with all the details. But this bub had a heart rate of 163 at 10 weeks ans 153 at 7 weeks.
Did you get a DVD of your scans? I had one made of Jayden at 13 weeks, but I don't think they are doing it anymore. Plus I will be going into the hospital in town for these scans rather than the local hospital as I did with Jayden. The last reassurance scan we had at 10 weeks, we didn't get a picture to bring home :( but was glad to see bubs happy and growing quickly. I think our next scan (NT) is monday week (12 weeks). Then we have another scan at 15 weeks booked. We have our scan at 20 weeks booked too but if I am not feeling movements between 15-20 weeks I will hound them for another one.
Anyways, been dribbling on a bit haven't I lol, hope everyone is doing well.
Dory you have reached the 6 week mark ! !
Dexy how is things going with you and bubs?
Gem - that is awesome.... GL with your SCAN next week...
Dexy - how are you going?
Jenna - hello there - so nice to see your ticker.
I just wanted to let you know I have finally posted a pic of Hannah in my sig - yay. I am proud as can be of myself and our little girl. She is having a grand day today - very sleepy - the past 5 have not been, so this is bliss! It is so nice when she wakes up and just lies cooing and gaaing to herself, and when I pop my head over the side of the bassinette, she breaks into a great big gummy smiles that even makes her eyes crinkle in the corners. OMG, my heart just melts with pride and love. I didn't realise it could be this awesome.
Belly rubs.
I have a tear in my eye, a sniffle and goosebumps, that is just gorgeous Dory!
I love the pic, how gorgeous is beauiful little Hannah, you have plenty to be proud of
Ok off to get a tissue x x x
Darlings!
How naughty am I?!? Its been almost 3 weeks since I have dropped in to share my love with you all! I'm expecting the little man to wake any second but desperatley just wanted to drop in....
Motherhood has had me running off my feet to say the least, but I'm loving it!
Jen - A GIRL! How super! Congrats!
Gem - How are you precious? I felt movements at 14 weeks - Only 1 but I suspected it was an early bub wriggle & they progressivley got more obvious from there :)
Dory - My darling! How is our sweet little Hannah? Kiss the gorgeous girl for me! Certainly didnt have the birth we had 'planned' & had a scary moment there too, but god the outcome was super! The birth plan never left the suitcase! DH asked me once all was said & done what we should do with it - I said BIN IT!
So long story super short - 15 hour labour! (after 2hours 56 minutes with DS!) & ****! was it labour! ( Excuse the french! ) A much loved epidural - Almost an emergency Cesar & 2 hours & 40 minutes of pushing! But goodness, it was well worth every minute! I cried when Tait arrived & then the reality hit me of how long the road had been & my thoughts were shared with our little angels - So I cried a little more...
Taity Cakes as he is affectionatley called, or Nooshi, is just beautiful. Feeding well, sleeping well & thriving! We had a few day with major wind issues, but I have changed him to an anti colic formula & things seem to be on the improve :)
My only advise to you all - Trust your own instincts! Health Nurses & GP's dont know everything.
Love to each of you & I will do my best to call in again very soon
Dexy x x x
Dexy - good to hear from you and that Taity Cakes, is going so well... you sound super happy and content. Hannah Bear is now smiling and cooing, it is so impossibly cute and melts my heart. She is unsettled this arvo and I can hear DH shusshing her and that is also impossibly cute. What's even better is she is responding to him..... but I am not taking it personally. I am just glad he gets the chance to do it as I do it most of the other times....
Gem - good luck tomorrow with your scan - thinking of you.
Jenna - how is the purple little bump going?
Dexy interesting about the anti colic formula - I might try that - Hannah seems to have periods of being unsettled that last for a few hours and I wonder what causes it. It's hard on her and on us, as there is very little that seems to help. Can't wait to see a pic - but it took me 6 or 7 weeks to get one up ( and to work out how to do it). Oh and Hannah smiled at the prospect of Dexy & Taity cake hugs too! Sending some back to you.
Take care all.
Aww Dexy how beautiful. I am sitting at the laptop trying to hold in those tears. What a special moment when Taity Cakes was born. It is so good to hear from you and from your words you sound like you are enjoying every moment of your new journey. Yes I have learned not to take doctors words to heart. I don't know why but I am finding that it is very difficult these days to be a pregnant women and dealing with the many medical staff. I look forward to hear more about how you and your wonderful family are getting on.
Dory enjoy your moments when DH is doing his bit, how wonderful for you! He is really looking after you and bubs, it is great to hear.
Jen how are you getting along? I haven't been in for a bit but wow how our tickers are ticking along...
AFM I went for 12 week scan on monday. I was dissapointed that I had to drive so much further this time and I couldn't get a DVD. I was busting badly for the loo, it was actually hurting, and they made me wait. But we got to see bubs which is the main thing. Gee where do I start lol. Well for 35 minutes of scan time I think bubs stopped for about 1 minute to rest, other than that he was actively cart-wheeling, rolling, waving, flipping, putting his hands up by his face. He made it very hard to get measurements, but think they got what they need in the end. I was expecting that bubs would be just under 6cm crown to rump, but he measured 7.1cm and for 12w2d he measured 13w2d. HB was 153bpm, measurement for the back of the neck was just under 2mm which is great. Not sure if they will change my dates, I am thinking they will probably just leave it as it is.
Won't be in much, moving this w/end. Hope all is well. Take care.
Gem - Awesome!!
