    Check up/clean whilst pregnant

    Hi all...

Tomorrow Im going to the dentist for a check up and a clean. I know that whilst brushing my teeth the gums bleed more than usual when pregnant.

I know that I can't have a filling or anything like this but to clean my teeth is it risky?

Will let my dentist know that I am pregnant too!

    Thanks
    Caz

i would expect that the dentist would be professional enough to know weather its safe or not for a professional clean, they would be well trained. Just make sure you let them know your pregnant and how far along. just incase

i cant see why a scale and a polish would be harmful but i am not an obvious dentist hehe

Caz, a clean is fine. In fact it is recommended that you have a check up while pg so you are doing the right thing. Just make sure you do tell them you are pg and it will all be fine.

It is fine to have any dental work when pregnant including fillings/extractions if needed

I've recently had work done on my teeth including a root canal and crown, i can't see any problem with having work done during pregnancy
