I don't like the Eenees liners... they're not very soft and they stick to DS's boy bits and it's no fun trying to peel them off!! Cheap, yes, but not fun. I prefer the Bummis or totsbots liners, or just fleece. They're a better size too, I found.

Aah, thanks ladies for the minkee magicall reviews... my problem is though - the magicall I have that I am not a fan of, is the new style... not the old style... hmmmm.

Anybody know where to get swaddlebees sized pockets (no need for OV) these days? I only seem to be able to find AIOs & OSFAS.....?

ETA: Mel, Widdlewuns is it? How do I not know this brand....? What sort of naps do they do?

oooh widdlewuns - QM, Pip wore them at the Sammi baby shower. They are AIOs but it's lay-in. Very absorbant, and the snoozywuns (nighttime) are right up there with KK nights.

They're all pretty much semi-custom, choice of snaps or applix. website is .... widdlewuns dot com dot au etc.

I may have too many widdlewuns But she's pregnant, not too sure how much longer she'll be sewing for.

ETA - website expired - guess that answers that question.

QM what size are you looking for?

Well Miss E is still red and sore. CC put a sposie on her with a heap of cream during the day today. Very glad that they didn't use cream with MCN!!! They did ask me to put some MCN friendly cream in her bag though. And they are still leaving the wipes in the nappies as liners Next week I will have time to properly explain to them that they are her wipes. I decided to put a sposie with a heap of cream on for bed again tonight.

Miss S is still doing well, still in knickers except for sleep, and I am getting more confident with taking her out in knickers.

WOEB: Sposie and Curash Zinc cream
    WOSB: Dalmation CT.

    for the madly nesting mummies
some pre-washing the nappies to use on your soon to come newborn tips

    - wash anything white separate, i mean loopy fabric like towelling flats, cos the lint that come off, the first few washes, you don't want that over everything else!

    - do wash dark colours together. Every so often, i see a post like "HELP MY ENTIRE MCN LOAD TURNED PINK - AND I HAVE TWO BOYS!!!!" on various forums. Red pea pods have a reputation for running, and a few other brands too. So i say, err on the side of caution. Even if it's only for the first few washes.

    - microfibre needs at least one prior wash

    - bamboo needs three prior washes

    - hemp takes between 6 - 8 washes to work up absorbency

    - and yes, you DO need to dry them INBETWEEN the washes.

    - if you have a thang for dark fleece covers/pockets/aios, invest in some zippered washbags. i just get dustmite pillow protectors, so cheap, big too. Pop the dark coloured fleece items in the zippered bag, your items will stay looking good for much longer - unless you LOVE de-pilling items. It very good for black stuff. a WAHM taught me that tip.

    - i find a small zippered wash bag was very useful for
    breastpads
    newborn sox
    newborn mittens
all the tiny bits you end up losing and find it impossible to find their pair
NOTE: i only have one child, to have time for all this fussing about, no doubt the mummies of multiple kids think i am mad.

    - source your gentle/sensitive wash powder now, hell, go crazy and buy a few boxes (i have not found gentle stuff in the bulk sizes - drats), so that when you have your nb, and are in the nb fog, one less thing to have to leave the house for - or get your dh / MIL to find in the supermarket.

    - get yourself a clothes horse. easier to hang all the little mcn bits on a clothes horse than peg them all out outside, esp if you have a c-section and cannot reach up for a while

    - get your little squirt installed NOW. read the instructions and have a try. easier to do this now, than concurrently with a nb and no sleep.

now i'm getting a bit off topic, so you'd better stop me! (had a horror c-section but with having washing machine raised, managed to use mcn).

1180 - what else do you have in your stash, apart from greenkids?
greenkids pockets are not absorbent, it is what you STUFF them with that is your absorbency.
    what weight is your child?

anyone after amounts of microfleece for mcn sewing, PEEP-O on wahmania, is selling off mcn fabrics at very good prices, i am so sad she is closing down, makes such lovely woolly covers and fitteds. very nice person too. (made our bilby shorties as a spesh request).

queen - what size swaddlebee pockets do you need? why do you say you DON"T need organic velour inners? (after what you've just gonethru with Punk?). what kg is the punk these days?

Flushable liners - i 2nd NaNa. Scratchy harsh paper liners are very yuck. the tots bots and bummi ones are lovely and soft. i use them in our childcare and going out mcn, brilliant. No good for newborn runny poop, but yep, makes sense they would be useful to catch the meconium.

Has anyone seen the Mazzy KOALA cover, for the Bushfire auctions, at the wahmnaps site? i like to think it's a tribute to Sam, the koala who was in the media, being given a bottle of water by a firie. way to go Maz!

Limey - are you home yet?

wotbb: lotus fitted night nappy and possum pouches soaker (handknit woolly cover).

Gigi - I figure if I'm using the bamboo velour anyway it's not 100% neccessary to spend extra money on the ov? Am I wrong? She's over 12kg according to my scales, she still fits into her Ms but I was thinking of getting some Ls too.

    Ali - Large I'm after.

If anyone sees Larges on b4b or anywhere, let me know!!

Mel & Kaz - Ah! I HAVE heard of snoozy wuns... will have to investigate. Kaz, all I can remember about what Pip was wearing is cute babylegs lmao.

    WOPB: Blue bumwear.

Wouldn't mind getting a widdlewuns but all the ones on ozebaby are small. I'm assuming that they won't fit my 9.75kg boy. Oh well. Does she sell them anywhere else?

We finally got our Dragonfly Magik yesterday. We were one of the orders that oversold and it was a big drama but it finally arrived. It's a lovely nappy. I hope it was worth the wait. Might even have to get some more if it is.

I missed the GD stocking on Sunday - forgot all about it. Oh well. Probably don't NEED any more nappies, but they're just nice to collect, aren't they?

Had heaps of trouble getting thru the minilala website last night. In the end I gave up. It was obviously very busy. In the end I gave up. I guess the universe was telling me that I didnt' need one. Maybe next time.

Ty's got a dreadfully runny nose and cough and is feeling miserable. He's sleeping through the night - mainly with the help of some Nurofen and the vapouriser running all night. He's back in bed already and has been for the last hour. We've missed playgroup but never mind.

I've got to buy my besties daughter a nappy for her 1st birthday (as well as other stuff). What would you recommend for a real knock your socks off nappy for her?

Ah Melly those WW nappies sound so cute!

Maz, you can have Jett if you like, he wont be TT'ed til he's atleast 15 so as long as you can make x-x-x-x-x-large MCNs you'll be right for years

Im going to be brave and ask Jetts kindy teacher today what she thinks about MCNs and whether she'd be right if I sent him with them instead of sposies. He's only there for 5hrs or so and he'd only be using what he would if he was at home. Im just sick of having to double check they have enough sposies to last him.
