[Angelgirl - .................................... Even if you never 'use' the PhD, you will have finished it and have that satisfaction!![/QUOTE]

And remember that you will have to face the what ifs if you decide to give it away. They can be like smoking, you're never really get over it

I HEAR YOU PAIN!!!! I'm in my 4th year - trying to write thesis and paper to publish. Funding finished last September and DH is working to supplement us. We decided that I should write full time rather than getting a part time job, and submit by the end of March. NIGHTMARE!!!!!! EVIL EVIL EVIL!!! but I love it

Hey Chrissy - yep it sucks, doesn't it?
My funding ran out in March 07 (my industry scholarship, which had lots of FAB travel money, did not allow for an extension past 3 years!). My primary supervisor came up with another 3 months of $ for me at the end of 07, but that's gone now.
I've always worked part time during my PhD, whether it was demonstrating in undergrad labs, or working as a 'lab rat' in a molecular biology lab, but the job I do now was offered to me and was too good to refuse. It's an awesome private consultancy, and they are happy for me to go full time whenever I'm ready. So to have a full time job to go to was too good to pass up!
But it means I'll probably need to apply to extend my candidature in March, as we only get 4 years and that's when my time is up. Should be easy to get the extension though as by the end of March I should have a working draft of each chapter.

Technically I'm still enrolled full time too!

    What's your field?
