    Becoming a Doula

Im hoping to get into doing Midwifery Studies next year, however meanwhile i was thinking of becoming a Doula!
Is Optimim Birth Doula Course the best course to do?
Is it hard to find people wanting to use a Doula?
And will it help me to get into doing my BMid next year?

I'm doing birth education through Childbirth International and I'm very happy with what they offer, they are another option to look into, they do birth and post-natal courses too.

I know lots of doulas that get into bmid and even those without prior university education. It also is a great way to have something to have if you dont get in, you can keep being a doula, getting experience and of course an income until you get in.

    Thank you!
I looked into both Childbirth International and Optimum Birth - and at this stage i think im liking the Optimum Birth one just that little bit more - but they both look great - im getting a bit excited now!
I spoke to the midwife the other day to ask what she thought of doula's and she said alot of midwives find them scary - but she has only had good experiences with Doula's so thats a bit more of a plus!

Anyone out there done the Optimum Birth Doula course?

Is it hard to find woman who are wanting a Doula?
