    um this is tricky as neither the diploma or Cert will give you credit for your course, but if it is of an interest base and to help achieve entry this i guess it could be worth it.

    Some tafes are fast tracking the cert and Diploma as per the new regs that will come into effect (are you in VIC? i dont know about other states)

    In the UK the training is very very different, so i cant give to many comments on the courses here, other than i taught Cert III a few years ago here in AUS but left due to not agreeing with standards being met (another story).

    if it is somthing that interest you then i say go for it, people are able to achieve well when doing somthing that is of interest. It may not take you as long as you think.

    You can also contact the Uni you intend to enrol in for the degree and ask a CA what they think will work best for you.

    cert iii childrens services is VERY easy, im sure you will blitz it

    I've done the course and helped a stack of assistants at work do it too recently, so ask away...
