I was looking at the business course because I figured it might be the cheapest lol, but if cert II is around the $600 then there's no point looking further, we simply cannot afford that much... even with payment options there I'd rather spend the money on things we need... lol, I'm such a tightarse!
In QLD a Cert III in Business through TAFE Open Learning is about $1000.
My partner is doing her Cert III in Fiancial Services (Accounts Clerical) and it's going to cost almost $1000 all up.
The good part is that you only pay for what you are enrolled in, so each modules is about $40-80 (theres about 11 or 12 I think), and you pay the module fee and then take as much time as you need to complete it, and then enrol in the next one, so it's spread out, and you have some time to save for the next module. Also if you decide it's not for you there no obligation to keep going because you only pay as you enrol in each module. There's a discount for HCC holders, if that applies, and it reduces the price of the course by about a third I think.
i am doing a different course but am doing it externally and paying by the module. By the time i am finished it will have cost me $1200, I have really struggled trying to afford it and am moving next week into a little flat so I can spend more money on my study to get it finished on time. It is ridiculous that a TAFE course costs so much even with concession!
