Hi all
Well I ended up deferring for a year. Am a little sad, but I decided it was the best thing to do. I was also debating whether to just go back to my nursing degree, as I can do it externally, but my heart isn't in it anymore. Good luck to all of you!
-
mama_supha - sorry i cant help you! maybe Mara can - she is pretty cluey on all this!
Bon - u have done the right thing for you and your family! and at least you know u got another year to sort everything out and u dont have to apply again!!!!
Well the suspense is absolutly killing me! ive got a REALLY bad feeling once again im not going to get an offer! oh well :-(

Hi Mama, when I was querying about getting into BMid at UQ a couple of years back. (I had a rank of 80 and needed i think an 86 to get into UQ) the guy from QTAC told me that if I did 6 months of fulltime nursing subjects and got a certain GPA then it would increase my rank enough to get into UQ. He did stipulate it had to be fulltime for some reason. perhaps because the results in the second semester wouldn't be finalised in time? I dunno.
Bon, agree with hj. You've made the best decision for your family and you have BMid to look forward to in 2011.
hj, i think I'll be waiting til the major offer round in Jan to find out. I don't hold much hope of an early offer. waiting waiting waiting. . . .
AFM I'm debating whether to change my second pref from BMid at ACU to B Nursing externally through CQU. I just figure would be easier to manage around work and family life then traveling to bris to go to ACU.
-
Mara - decisions decisions!!! tough hey! the travel might not be so bad - depends on ur timetable also! if we get into ACU together u could always meet at my place and than we could travel in together! just an offer thats there if u need!
But have a think about it - is it too late to change preferences?

Well ladies I rang Griffith the other day to get them to re-enrol me after my leave of absence and I also asked to be transferred to Logan campus, but guess what... they didn't process my withdrawal for 2 subjects when I put it in, so my GPA is now sitting at 3.25 which is too low to transfer...
So I've sent them a big long cranky letter with all my medical certificates (I withdrew because of pregnancy sickness bigtime), so now I have to do the waiting game to see if they will process it and then go from there, I just can't travel up to Nathan campus everyday, too much with DS.
How are you all going with your offers, anyone else doing a BN at Logan next year?
-
Mara - thanks for that info!
So sorry to hear that Ella!
I hope it all gets sorted out soon. I've applied for B of Mid at Logan, then nursing at GC and then nursing at Logan.
Have heard there have been lots of applicants for Midi!!! so am thinking Nursing will be where I start initially!
-
Mamasupha- Don't worry even if you get nursing, I found the first semester of nursing soooo interesting, lots of stuff to learn! And you can always transfer to Midwifery after a little while...
-
Thanks for that encouragement :)
-
Lol- I would actually say it's the best way to go cause you might get into the BN and think, I want to do this and then do the postgrad midwif...
-
Ella - BUGGA!!!! hopefully they fix it up for you and u can transfer!
mama_supha - i can only imagine how many applicants there has been for midi... unfortuanlly! hahaha would be better for us if there wasn't many but oh well!
Im thinking if im goingto get an offer its going to be with nursing too! hope i enjoy it!
-
No offer here :shakehead:
-
yet again no offer here either!
Can u pull out on ur offers?
-
You can still change preferences I think. I only changed mine 2 days ago........hang in there til Jan! What's your 2nd pref?
-
i can't go through a 3rd rejection!
2nd preference was ACU!
-
okay after a bit of a teary and a chat with a friend she showed me a link (dont know if im aloud to post it) u can find it on QTAC site - but our courses weren't even offered today! so PHEW!!!!!!!!
-
Thanks so much for the offer to meet at your place if we both got into ACU hj, but for some reason I've got in my head you're out Springfield way? I'm northern Gold Coast.
You will not get rejected either. The Rank cutoff for Bmid at ACU was 68 last year so even if you don't get into Griffith you'll definately get into ACU ;)
The thing that's hardest for me is that I'll still have to work part time while I'm going to Uni (unless some miracle happens ) and that's why I worry that travelling up to ACU would just be all too full-on IYKWIM.
-
HJ - can you pm me the link to the info on QTAC. Thanks
I am sure you will get an offer in Jan! I heard that some uni's only gave early offers to those who already had degrees, and I only know of 1 person who got an early offer to Griffith Mid and they already had a degree, just in a different area.
Everything will work out......there is a plan for each of us, just have to figure out what it si!
-
Mara - bugga i thought you were a bit closer! sorry!
Do u definatly think i will get an offer somewhere? i would so love to be able to hand my resignation in at work next week! i hate the place!
And i must admit ACU just might be a bit of a struggle for you with work, travel, study, family etc.... even im worried about how i will handle ACU and i wont be working! Lets hope we all get Griffith!!!!!!
mama_supha - i have emailed u the link :-) LOL i hope you are right and that everything will work out! im so worried and stressed that it wont!
