hj, have you thought about putting BMid at UQ Ipswich in as a second preference if it is closer than ACU? last years rank was 82 so with griffith coming into play this year it may now be even lower this year. Just a thought ;)

Mara - really? for some reason i thought it was 86! thats a great idea tho!
Im trying to get my whole heard around the offer process and how it works - if a put the high rank ones up the top of my preferrence list - and my rank is not enough how does that than work? For example - if i dont get Griffith on the 17th do i wait longer to find out if i get my next prefference? and than if i put UQ as my next preference and my rank isnt good enough do i wait even longer to get my next preference?
Not quite what im trying to ask but i can't seem to explain it - how does it work?
Hi hj, you will be given an offer on the highest preference to which you comply int he major offer round.
So say you had your first pref as Griffith, then second UQ, then 3rd ACU.
If Griffith's cutoff ended up being 80 or under then you'd most likely get an offer for your griffith, but if griffith was over 80 and UQ was 80 or under then you'd get an offer for UQ. And if both Griffith and UQ were over 8o then you'd get an offer for ACU as their cutoff is likely to be in the low 70's. Hope that makes sense!
I'm pretty sure UQ was 82 this year and 86 the previous year. So it's steadily coming down :)
HOpe this makes sense.
Yep makes sense! thankyou so much for the idea! will chat with DH and see what he says but it makes sense for me to change that around and put UQ as 2nd as it is way closer compared to ACU!!!!!
disregard this msg!
Woo Hoo!!!!!
I got accepted back into my BN at Griffith... AND my transfer application to Logan was approved as well!!!!!
So now I just have to wait for them to remove those two subjects and my GPA will dart back up!
Woo Hoo!
Oh and just to top off my great day, we are leaving as soon as DF gets home from work to go to my Dad's, who is going to look after DS for us so we can have our first day together as a couple since DS was born!!!!
Ella, thats great news! have a lovely evening :)
Woohoo Great news Ella!
Did u have a good evening?
Thanks for that link HJ.
Come on 14th Jan......... I've already put in for the 2 weeks off for the Midwifery intensive at my work, just incase. Fortunately my boss and his wife are really supportive of me going to UNI, just hoping I can continue to work there. Think I will be able to with the midwifery but not if I get into nursing!
Mama, have you thought about putting nursing a CQU down as a preference instead of Griffith Nursing? At least that way it would be external and you could probably more easily study around work hours IYKWIM?
How many hours a week do you think you'll be working whilst studying if you don't mind me asking?
Oh, with all the talk of so many Griffith BMid applicants I'm starting to have some serious doubts about getting in :(
Now that the grade 12 OP's have been released they would definately know what the cut-off is. I wish QTAC could tell us!
Hi Mara
Thanks for the suggestion of CQU ,don't really want to do any more study by correspondance. I'm working about 11 - 12.5 hours a week at the moment, so hoping that will all work in when I start studying.
I'm a bit like you in regards to all the midi applicants! Can't believe how many there are.
Do you udnerstand how the Yr 12 op's from this year impact on the Midi entrance ranking??? I can't imagine there would be too many school leavers applying for midi but then again who knows!
Mara/MamaSpice :D - now that u have got some good news what are u going to do if u get offered a possy??? im so excited for u - i can't believe im late in knowing that great news!!!
Aww, thanks hj! If all is going well with this pregnancy and I get an offer then I'll defer :)
well as much as im sad that im losing a study buddy :D - im soooo very happy for you! and definatly wishing u a happy sticky pregnancy!!! xo
P.S. Can i suggest something?! unless its just my eyes - the green writing in ur ticker area is hard to read!!! should show that off a bit more and maybe change the colour!
16 days to go and counting . . . . . . .
too long! wish they would bring the date forward!
CONGRATS on the new little bundle on the way! :D
Fingers crossed everyone!!!!
