Freya what is CDU??
Bachelor of Nursing externally through CDU. Im really struggling with 3 kids, Ds2's special needs and Dh being on deployment. Im managing only one unit a semester.
Still Ive got 30 credit points already from previous studying at a different Uni. Slowly slowly chipping away..............still got atleast 5 years to go.
Freya what is CDU??

Charles Darwin University in NT.
Graduate Diploma in Psychology. Will be half way at the end of the year.
Im doing my diploma of nursing, hoping to continue on to midwifery
It's certainly hard, but i LOVE what i am doing so that makes it easier. It is even harder doing mid (compaired to nursing at our campus at least). We have 2 days of placement every week, and I am on campus 2 half days and one full day other than that- so 5 days a week! I have an online subject and follow throughs to complete on top of all that.
My kids are in full time childcare. Most days they are there 7.30-4 during semester- a little longer on some days. I am very lucky that i have fantastic family support- My mum does SOME of my washing, and also cooks us a meal once a week which she just drops over in my fridge (complete with desert! mmmm) When we have block placements for our nursing subjects- it is even harder as we often also have midwifery online subjects that we need to do also, where as the nursing students have no extra work while on placement. My mum also takes my eldest son on the days where i would have normally picked him up from school because he isn't booked into after school care.
I guess for me- i look at it as it is really only about 15 weeks each semester- inc exams (30 weeks a year out of 52) that i am not getting massive amounts of time with them, so i make up for that when i am on uni hols.
It is tough... but so worth it. If i waited "till it would be easier, or the kids are older" i KNOW it would never feel like the right time, so i suck it up and get on with it.
As long as you are passionate about what you are studying, you will do fine!
I am studying bach of nursing/midwifery combined degree. So 4 years full time. I have 3 kids and the oldest is 5 1/2!! By the time I am finished my youngest will be just starting primary school![]()
