Shell, your best bet is to talk with the university you are interested in. FWIW, UniSA does allow you to study part time via distance education but there will be on campus workshops and clinicals associated with some subjects. You can apply direct to UniSA or go through Open Universities Australia.
Really???
When did you hear this?
Because I got into the UniSA External Midwifery to start this year when I wasnt sure if I was moving back to Brissy or not and was going to be doing it externally from Townsville.
Also, they were happy for me to do my placement at the Townsville Hospital but I had to organise it myself. Also, you do have to go down for a week of workshops 2 time a year.
Considering all the contradicting information, its probably best to call UniSA or SATAC (South Aust. Tertiary Admission Centre) yourself and have a chat to someone.
It all really depends on which your wishing to study. Midwifery or Nursing. Midwifery is the tough one but many Uni's offer Nursing externally.
Good luck!
