    Question re B Midwifery

I really want to get into Direct Entry Midwifery for 2010.
Now as i understand i can either try for ACU or UQ ipswich!
Ideally UQ Ipswich would be easier to get to and actually sounds a bit better, however going by requirements ACU is the "easier" one to get into so to say.
Now i finished grade 12 in 2008 - didnt get the best OP at all -at the time is silly and didnt really think of the consequences! Regretting it BIG time now!
I havent done much study since.
I have a Cert III in Children Services and a Cert III in Ambulance Communications (call taking) and a Cert IV in Ambulance Communications (Dispatch).
Has anyone been accepted into BMid at ACU on very little qualifications?
And if i do get into ACU can i change after a year over to UQ Ipswich?

I'd consider doing doula studies before then, I know lots of doulas who get in. I also know lots of people who dont have previous university study and are mature age. If you can do the doula studies, get out to some births then it will help. Plus you have something you can keep doing and get more experience with if you dont get in. I planned to do that, but I love doula'ing better, and I dont like the current climate for midwives so dont want to be one yet.

You could put away your doula fees to go towards your degree

Thanks Kelly - i was thinking about that actually (didnt think of the money idea tho) now im just more determined to do that this year while i wait!
Is it easy to actually find ppl who want a doula tho? thats my only concern! And is Optimim Birth Doula Course the best one to go through?
