That is soooo AWESOME Shazz!! Well done chickidee!!
Shazz well done on getting in and yay on your scholarship!!!
I got in as well!!!! OMG!!! I really cant believe it and I am absolutely buzzing! I got into nursing. Yay!
WTG Shazz and Karina! I better get in, I am sooo ready to get back to study.
I will be working 8am to 5pm, 4 days a week, studying externally and will have a 13yo and an almost 2 yo at home. I wonder how I'm going to manage, but I am pretty determined. I will have Wednesdays off to be with my kids, and it'll be the uni library Wed nights and weekends. Home study wll have to happen after Charlie is in bed. It will likely kill me, but I'm not in a hurry to finish, so will take a semester off here and there if it gets to be too much.
Realistically it will take me 6-10 years to get my degree, so at the moment, the goal is to get to the end, not to get there as fast as possible.
wtg Karina congrat hun
congrats to all you lovely ladies!!!!
you've all inspired me to perhaps try next year!!
Sushee good luck for thursday!!! You did so well on your STAT so I reckon you will surely get offered a spot in psych. You could always just do one subject to begin with and then see how you go with fitting it in with work and all. I am starting to think the same: I am meant to go back to work in feb and I am trying to decide if I even want to work AND do uni at the same time, plus looking after Claire and doing all the housey things I do. DH will also be studying this year!
It's hard isn't it Karina? I too worry if I'm taking on too much, but as DH says to me, I'll only know how much I can cope with when I'm actually coping with it all. You're in now, so enrol and if you really think it's going to be too much, you can always defer!
Thats right Sushee. I have accepted my offer now and if I do find it gets too much, i can defer. I'm not 100% keen on going back to work anyway (i dont think they like me) so I wont be disappointed if I dont. I'd rather do uni at this stage and if I do work, then I'd prefer to get a job closer to home anyway. My work moved to a new office in the city and I really cant be bothered to travel into the city for work. I hate the city! I've done full time work and part time external study before, but it was shiftwork so I'd do my study at work when it was quiet at night and it was only tafe so not as much effort as uni. And that was in 2002, and I didnt have Claire then! I suppose I just have to wait and see now.
How did you go Sushee? I have seen a few people have there placements in the TISC system so offers must be up.
As for poor ole me, yes I am a dumb#ss who didnt get an offer BUT it is ok. I have other plans to take on the world and maybe a second round offer in the pipeline
Congrats to all that did, I will check up on you all especially round exam time :)
Bec
Bec, I'm sorry about the main round offers but yes, there are second round offers so the fat lady hasn't yet sung.
Well I just logged onto the TISC website and yes I got my first preference, Bpsych at Curtin Uni. Very excited but also very nervous now it's all 'real'!
WTG Sushee wooohoo
Bec i'm sorry you didn't get first round but like sushee said the fat ole girl is singing yet good luck for second round
Bec sorry you didnt get your offer. Maybe in the next round of offers there will be something for you.
Yay Sushee! Congrats!!!
Hi
Well done to you all, accepted or not. Bec, Your drive to succeed will surely find you in a good place. I missed out on uni after highschool by 1.5% due to scaling of subjects dependant on what school etc.. That was so devastating to me, but 8 years later, having completed half a diploma at tafe left my hometown of perth to drive across australia, took on an apprenticeship in sydney, now a mother...now i am, ready to take on the uni again!
Hopefully will do BA externally over 6 years, starting mid 2008, applications close end of march. the only thing i need to organise is a stat test and then cross my fingers!!!
So never say never and even when the fat lady does sing and you dont have the outcome you want, try again!!
Congratulations Shazz, Karina and Sushee! Massive Woohooos for you all! This is just so awesome!
Bec - please do not despair hun. I did not get in the first year I applied hun, and the girls are right there are still 2nd and 3rd round offers to go!
Keep applying hun - it will happen. I do remember how devasting it was last year though - you go girl keep trying hun!
Hi girls - congrats to those who got an offer!!
Bec - sorry, hun. But don't lose hope!
Well I am officially enrolled in two subjects for term 1, and I ordered my text books today. Can't wait to get them and have a flick through! Bit exy though - the anatomy and physiology book was $150! Straight onto the credit card...sigh. But its for a good cause.
I can't believe its actually happening - I am almost a nursing student!
Aw my beautiful DH put $1000 of his savings into my credit card today for my textbooks! Isn't he lovely? I have to PM you too Mel when I get my booklist!
Hey! I have just arrived here!
I have applied for uni this year. I missed out on a January offer, but will find out on Thurday this week if I get an offer for the Febuary round!
I am so excited!!
I am hoping to get into 'bach of business (HR)/bach of psychological science'.
