I found BBH prefolds in small PUL covers worked well for us.
When Baden was bigger we just used the prefolds as boosters
The problem we had is most nappies had huge gaping at the legs...
the best AIOs i found for a nb were bubblebubs and widdlewuns.
basically aplix closing ones, as I alwyas had issues with getting snaps to adjust to suit DS2
that said the best nappies i used (though my babies were both over 4.5kg born) were swaddlebees nb fitted and kissaluvs fitteds.
i used bummis and sbees covers with them.
Well I had a 4kg monster and the leg gape on him was shocking!
I loved the fitteds and a Maz/bummis cover. I had spunkybutts, tots bots fitteds to start and they were awesome. The BBH fitted sucked on a newborn cos they were so huge and mine weren't new so they were that bit stiffer.
DD2 was born 54cm 4.4kgs and I started using BBH with *medium* covers (the website sent me the wrong size but I kept them because they fit anyway) and haven't had any leakage problems. At least no more so than disposable huggies.
edit: I don't even know if the nappies I'm talking about ARE AOIs cos you still need covers for them! Either way they're OSFA and they fit my newborn.
